About the Role

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will provide leadership, direction, and support to software engineers and development teams responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions. You will work closely with development peers, product leaders, project managers, and technical teams to ensure successful delivery across the software development lifecycle while helping to build an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing engineering culture.

Responsibilities

- Provide leadership, management, direction, and vision to software engineers and development employees, including offshore contractors, consultants, and interns.
- Support, run, and drive change activities across the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with development peers, product leaders, project managers, and other software development teams.
- Direct the successful completion and delivery of software components and related deliverables.
- Report project and team progress to senior management.
- Support talent identification, development, and succession planning activities.
- Define resource requirements and support resource allocation planning.
- Contribute to department budget oversight and operational planning.

Requirements

- Software development experience with demonstrated technical expertise including experience managing software engineering teams.
- Expertise and proven experience in various staffing and resource models.
- Strong proficiency in database technology, design and manipulation, optimization, and best practices.
- Knowledge of normalized and dimensional data modeling principles and their application to complex business needs.
- Expertise in techniques for design and code reviews of offshore technical proposals.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience guiding technical teams through delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Understand how AI is transforming software engineering and how AI tools can improve engineering productivity across activities such as coding, testing, requirements generation and prototyping.
