The opportunity
Monograph and Total Synergy have prospect and customer data spread across many systems. This role will connect that data, reduce manual work, and build automated workflows that improve how we acquire, convert, and retain customers.
How we define GTM Engineering
We are looking for someone who understands how revenue teams work and can personally build the systems they need. You will identify revenue problems, test practical solutions, and measure the results.
- Commercial first. Diagnose the revenue problem before selecting a tool or designing a workflow.
- Build to learn. Test ideas quickly and invest further only when they show value.
- Own outcomes. Judge each project by the revenue, customer, or productivity outcome it improves.
What you will own
1. Identify and prioritize GTM problems
- Work with Marketing, Sales, RevOps, and CX to follow the customer journey from first interaction through renewal and identify missed leads, slow handoffs, lost data, and repetitive manual work.
- Prioritize GTM engineering projects based on revenue impact, benefit to the GTM team, effort, and risk.
2. Connect and improve GTM data
- Connect data across Salesforce, HubSpot, Clay, Gong, websites, product, support, and billing systems using integrations, APIs, and automation tools.
- Build workflows that clean, enrich, deduplicate, match, and sync lead, opportunity, and customer data across systems.
- Work with RevOps and system owners to standardize data fields, permissions, lifecycle rules, and integrations.
3. Improve scoring and prioritization
- Use first- and third-party data to identify high-fit prospects, deals at risk, and customers likely to churn or expand.
- Improve how leads are scored and prioritized, and how contacts are categorized and matched to accounts.
- Use AI for research, summarization, classification, and personalization when it produces a better result than standard automation.
4. Build and maintain reliable workflows
- Build and test new workflows using automation tools, AI-assisted development, SQL, and lightweight code.
- Test workflows with real users and data before launch, including permissions, edge cases, and failure scenarios.
- Own workflows from launch through monitoring, maintenance, and retirement.
5. Measure results and drive adoption
- Document current performance and define a clear success metric before launching each workflow, then track adoption and business results after launch.
- Use testing and performance data to improve, scale, or stop workflows.
- Train users, gather feedback, and document the process so successful workflows become part of day-to-day work.
Examples of the problems you may solve
Prospect identification and conversion
- Build a scoring system that combines company fit and engagement signals, then directs each prospect to SDR, BDR, or continued marketing follow-up.
- Identify high-fit A&E firms showing signs of active demand, find the likely buyers, and coordinate Marketing and Sales outreach.
- Create a reliable account and contact view across Monograph and Total Synergy by resolving incomplete, duplicate, and conflicting records.
Seller productivity and pipeline progression
- Use call transcripts and account activity to identify deal risks, missing stakeholders, competitor mentions, and recommended next steps.
- Re-engage closed-lost or inactive opportunities when changes in company activity, engagement, or product needs create a new opening.
- Automate account research, CRM updates, meeting preparation, and follow-up while measuring the effect on conversion and sales-cycle speed.
Customer retention and expansion
- Build customer health models using onboarding, product adoption, support, billing, and engagement data to identify churn risk before renewal.
- Identify expansion opportunities based on product usage, company growth, additional offices, and previous customer conversations.
- Turn customer calls, support conversations, and product feedback into recurring insights for CX, Sales, Marketing, and Product.
How you will partner with existing teams
- VP Marketing: Sets the role’s priorities and ensures its work supports company-wide GTM goals.
- Revenue Operations: Manages the CRM, lifecycle stages, lead routing, forecasting, and official revenue reporting. You build workflows in partnership with RevOps.
- Marketing Operations. Manages campaign execution, marketing automation, and attribution. You build workflows that connect marketing systems with Sales and CX.
- Marketing, Sales, BDR, and Customer Experience: They define how they work with prospects and customers. You build and maintain the systems that support those processes.
- Product, Engineering, Data, and Security: They set standards for product data, infrastructure, security, privacy, and production integrations. You involve them when a workflow touches those areas.
How success will be measured
- Deliver measurable improvements in conversion, pipeline, deal progression, retention, or expansion.
- Reduce manual work and enable faster follow-up on high-priority prospects and customers.
What you bring
You understand how B2B revenue teams work and can turn a business problem into a reliable production workflow. You communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical teams and focus on measurable commercial outcomes.
- 4+ years in GTM Engineering, RevOps, Marketing Ops, Growth Engineering, business systems, data automation, or a related field, with examples of systems you personally built.
- Strong knowledge of B2B SaaS funnels, CRM, marketing automation, lead and account management, sales workflows, and customer retention.
- Hands-on experience designing multi-system workflows with platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Clay, n8n, Make, Zapier, Workato, or comparable tools.
- Working fluency with APIs, webhooks, JSON, SQL, data transformation, and AI-assisted scripting in Python, JavaScript, or a similar language.
- Experience using LLMs or AI agents for GTM workflows, with controls for quality, privacy, errors, and human review.
- Ability to define requirements, explain tradeoffs, and work across technical and nontechnical teams.
- A track record of measuring adoption and business impact, not just shipping automations or implementing tools.
Helpful, but not required
- Experience in vertical SaaS, ideally architecture and engineering software.
