Position Purpose
To analyze business processes and needs under chemical/material R&D environment to establish workflows of lab digitalization solutions.
To leverage advanced digital technologies (hardware and software) to implement customized automation and digitalization solutions for lab processes.
To be expanded to application manager to support specific laboratories to optimize and maintain the system.

• Major Tasks and Responsibilities

• • Lab Automation Implementation: Plan, deploy, and maintain laboratory automation solutions including automated liquid handling, sample preparation, robotic systems, and instrument integration to streamline lab workflows and improve throughput.
  • Lab Digitalization Application Development: Identify, evaluate, and implement digital applications tailored to laboratory needs, including ELN, LIMS, data acquisition platforms, and digital dashboards; support the roll-out of global digital platforms at the local level while driving locally-led development to address site-specific R&D needs and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Requirements Gathering and Management: Proactively engage with laboratory teams to elicit, document, and manage digitalization requirements; translate business needs into clear technical specifications and ensure alignment across stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project Management: Plan and track lab digitalization projects from initiation to delivery, managing timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations; drive cross-functional coordination to ensure on-time, on-scope delivery of digitalization initiatives.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of digital/automation systems and data by implementing best practices and adhering to relevant regulations and standards.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to lab personnel, troubleshoot related issues, and offer training as necessary.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of automation solutions, digital systems, protocols, and processes.

  • Qualifications
  • • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
    • Proven experience in lab digitalization or automation projects in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or materials R&D environment, with hands-on exposure to digital lab platforms such as ELN, LIMS, or laboratory automation systems.
    • Solid project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate effectively with both local lab teams and global stakeholders across different time zones and cultures.
    • Experience with laboratory automation technologies and instrument integration, including robotic liquid handlers, automated testing equipment, or lab informatics platforms.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Fluency in English and Chinese (both written and spoken).
