About Right Hook
Right Hook Digital is a performance growth team helping eCommerce founders and DTC brands scale. We bring together strategy, creative, media and retention to drive growth for the brands we partner with.
Our team is lean, high-trust and spread across multiple time zones. Everyone owns their link in the chain. We move quickly, hold a high bar, and expect the people leading our functions to think like owners and make the whole business better.
About the role
We’re looking for a Head of Creative Production to build, lead and scale the team responsible for turning creative strategy into high-performing ad creative at volume. This is a leadership role, not a production role.
You won’t be making the ads yourself. You’ll be owning the team, systems and standards that allow a creative production function to do its best work: consistently, efficiently and at the pace our clients need.
You’ll lead a team of Visual Creators (VCs) across multiple time zones and work closely with Creative Strategists and Growth Strategists to turn strategy into execution.
This role sits at the intersection of people leadership, creative quality, operational systems and commercial outcomes.
If you enjoy building teams, improving systems, raising standards and figuring out how to make things work better as they scale, we'd love to hear from you.
What you’ll own
1. Creative Quality: You own the executional standard of the work your team produces. You know the difference between something being technically finished and something being genuinely good. You set a clear creative bar, make sure the team understands it, and coach people towards it.
2. Production Velocity: You operate a production engine that moves. You own the systems, priorities and rhythms that allow the team to consistently deliver the volume our clients need without sacrificing quality. You spot bottlenecks, understand what’s slowing the team down and work out how to remove them.
3. Production Systems & Scalability: You build the infrastructure that allows the production function to grow. That includes team structure, workflows, capacity planning, resource allocation, processes and the way Production connects into the wider Creative and Growth functions. You’re constantly asking “How do we make this work better at 2x the volume?”
4. Team Performance & Development: You build a team that knows what good looks like and has the capability to consistently deliver it. You understand the strengths, gaps and development needs of your VCs. You coach through real work, give clear feedback, recognise performance patterns and create the conditions for people to do their best work. Success isn’t one or two standout VCs, it’s consistent performance across the whole team.
5. Creative Strategy and Production: You own the connection between Creative Strategy and Production. Creative Strategists communicate the why behind the ads, and your team should be able to translate that into strong execution without unnecessary friction. You make sure the handover between strategy and production is clear, efficient and continuously improving.
6. Cross-functional Leadership: Creative Production doesn’t operate in a silo. You’ll work closely with Creative Strategy, Growth Strategy and Media Buying to understand what the clients’ accounts need, how creative is performing and what the production function needs to do to deliver. You bring the production perspective into those conversations and make sure the team is aligned with the bigger commercial picture.
What we’re looking for
- You have a high creative bar: You can look at an ad and immediately spot when something isn't working. You understand creative quality, but you also understand that good-looking creative isn’t automatically high-performing creative. You can articulate what needs to improve and coach someone towards a better outcome.
- You think in systems: You naturally spot patterns, bottlenecks and unnecessary friction. When something isn’t working, your instinct is to understand why and improve the system, not just solve the same problem again next week.
- You use data to make decisions: You understand capacity, utilisation, prioritisation, output, revision rates, quality and delivery. You don’t need every answer to be in a spreadsheet, but you use data to understand what is actually happening inside your function and make better decisions as a result.
- You’re comfortable with pace and ambiguity: Right Hook moves quickly. Priorities change. Clients change. Platforms change. The market changes. You stay calm, reprioritise and keep the team moving. And if you’re unsure, you raise your hand early rather than sitting on a problem.
- You have experience leading creative teams: You have a track record of managing and developing creative production, creative operations or creative teams, ideally within a digital agency or performance marketing environment. You understand paid social creative, how creative gets produced at volume, and how to QA work against both strategic and executional standards.
What we offer
- USD $30,000 - USD $36,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Fully remote: SEA or LATAM based
- Direct line to senior leadership with genuine input into how the function evolves
- Real ownership: you’ll have the opportunity to scale a function that directly impacts client growth and company performance
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years leading a creative production or creative operations function within a digital agency or performance marketing environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing people and owning team output.
- Demonstrated understanding of paid social creative and digital advertising.
- Demonstrated organisational and operational skills.
- Comfortable with flexible schedule to work across AU & US time zones. Primary working hours align with the Australian time zone, occasional overlap required with the US time zone.
- Reliable, high-speed WiFi connection.
- Your own laptop and functional workspace setup.
Think you're the right fit? Here's how to apply:
1. Upload your resume (no cover letter needed)
2. Answer the following questions when prompted:
- How many years of experience do you have leading a creative production team?
- How many people have you directly managed at one time?
- Share a link to an ad that you think is exceptional and tell us why it works.
3. Bonus: We'd love to see examples of creative work produced under your leadership that you consider representative of the standard you hold your team to.
