The new team of World of Tanks: HEAT project at Wargaming is growing, and we're looking for talented QA Engineer experienced in testing complex multicomponent client/server applications. The primary focus of this position is to provide quality assessment for new functionalities of various complexity, stabilize versions, test big game modes, and collaborate with 3rd party studios. 

As a QA Engineer in our team, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and skills in different testing types, gain experience testing your own product in close cooperation with the drivers and developers, and contribute to a new and ambitious growing project.

What will you do?

• Provide quality assurance to the following:
  • Game client/server mechanics and in-game interfaces and desktop;
  • Client-side application performance and its hardware compatibility;
  • In-game content: models and scenes, visual and sound effects, localizations.
• Develop testing documentation and checklists and fulfill test plans;
• Process external testing results.

What are we looking for?

• 2+ years of experience in client applications testing 
• Strong interest in games and understanding of player experience
• Experience with video games across any platform (console, PC, or mobile) as a QA engineer;
• Knowledge of testing principles, types and methods;
• Experience with bug tracking and test case management systems;
• Diligence, attention to detail, responsibility, teamwork skills;
• Strong analytical skills, self-motivation and desire to learn;
• English language - Intermediate level and higher.

What additional skills will help you stand out?

• Familiarity with script programming languages;
• Knowledge of relational database principles.
• Experience working with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine, CryEngine, etc.).

Work mode

• Hybrid (4 days of work from the office in Warsaw)

• The salary range for this role is 16000 PLN (The final salary within the range will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, and performance during the interview. Please note that this salary range applies to Poland; for other locations, it might be different.)

We are currently seeking a Rendering Engineer with extensive experience to join our team as an independent contractor. This is not an entry level role and you will be working to build World of Warcraft model viewers to help Wowhead to expand our current tools to aid our community of gamers. This position is a full-time remote as you will collaborate with the entire Wowhead team as we work together to deliver world-class products to our fans.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain Wowhead’s model tools using the site’s WebGL model viewers. TypeScript-based standard viewer used in most of Wowhead website.
• Experience with Unity 6 (C#) and custom Scriptable Render Pipelines (deferred MRT, HLSL, multi-threaded asset loading). 
• Solid skills with C++ web assembly-based viewer that is faster with accurate lighting, for various World of Warcraft Player Housing pages.
• Ability to use JavaScript-based Three.js model viewer.
• Strong 3D math skills: matrices, quaternions, normals, and UV mapping.
• Collaborate with other engineers and content creators on technical design and feature roll out.
• Comfortable maintaining existing large codebase for multiple platforms.
• Communicate consistently, clearly, and efficiently all assigned task progress, blockers, or any other role-related issues in a prompt and professional manner on a regular basis.

Nice to Have:

• Ability to manage development of the Wowhead Studio Unity application, to facilitate datamined assets of creatures, characters, and other in-game objects
• Extract game data and game assets required to build tools to support our products and services.

Experience and Technical Requirements

• Comprehensive understanding using various programming languages (such as C++, Python, C#, TypeScript and JS) in order to choose the best tool for the job.
• Experience with mainstream shading languages, such as HLSL and GLSL.
• Understanding of various debugging, reverse engineering, and custom made tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Ability to read and comprehend x86/x64 assembly language, such as via IDA as this role is not solely a “file format” data mining role.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
• A collaborative mindset; ability to collaborate remotely and coordinate with stakeholders across different time zones.
• Professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to delivering high quality work utilizing your analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with WoW formats (CASC, DB2, BLP, M2, WMO, ADT) and Diablo 4 data extraction is a strong plus.
• Being experienced in Blizzard games will make it easier to understand project requirements and the consumer side.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with AI Engineers, ML scientists, and software engineers to translate model and product requirements into scalable data architecture, schemas, and APIs
  • Optimize pipeline performance (compute, storage, network) and cost by leveraging distributed processing techniques (Spark, Delta, Arrow) and AWS best practices (spot fleets, autoscaling)
  • Enforce data governance, privacy, and lineage standards, cataloging assets in Unity Catalog, managing PII/PCI classification, and implementing fine-grained access controls with Immuta/Ranger/IAM
  • Build automated validation, testing, and monitoring frameworks to guarantee data quality, freshness, and drift detection for both offline and online workloads
  • Support the onboarding and integration of new external data vendors, ensuring contractual compliance, metadata management, and rapid time-to-value for relevant teams
  • Continuously evaluate emerging GenAI tooling (vector stores, LLMOps platforms, synthetic-data generators) and drive proof-of-concepts that enhance our data engineering capabilities

What’s Required

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or engineering
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related field 
• Strong experience in Python development
• Experience with Spark or Scala
• Proficiency in building scalable, distributed data pipelines in a cloud environment
• Solid understanding of data architecture principles, data modeling, and data warehousing
• Ability to devise novel and innovative solutions to challenges
• Knowledge of/experience with graph databases is a plus

What you’ll do

You will be part of the team that builds a multitenant data platform to onboard internal and external data sources and perform a central role in data ingestion, consumption, and cataloguing. You will join a team of experts in data pipelines focusing on data streaming and acquisition, storage of the data in multiple forms (raw, normalized, operational vs historical), ELT, transformation, distribution, access layers for different types of technical access and entitlements. What’s required

The ideal candidate should be experienced in Python and AWS Cloud with good communication skills.
