Your Role
We’re hiring a Senior SDET to join one of our cross-functional product teams in our Football & Rugby group. This squad are focused on building cutting-edge solutions sports teams use to influence how they compete and recruit, supporting key products like Statsbomb and Wyscout, plus new greenfield projects as we expand.
As a Senior SDET, you’ll:
- Improve quality. You’ll drive measurable improvements in product quality and delivery speed. You’ll empower teams to solve tough challenges, bringing in proven practices that enhance quality and accelerate development.
- Collaborate. You’ll be an integral part of a cross-functional team, collaborating closely with coworkers across Engineering, Product, Design and Scrum, all to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
- Strategise. You’ll use your customer and system understanding to create risk-based testing approaches and plans that focus on user experiences. Overall, you’ll ensure our products meet and exceed user expectations.
- Automate. By aligning our processes with development speed, you’ll make informed decisions on what, how and when to automate.
Coach. You'll use your technical and quality expertise to guide others on the team to raise their bar. As the quality point person, you’ll influence and challenge teams to incorporate quality best practices in everything they do.
For this role, we're currently considering candidates who live within a commuting distance of our office in London. But with our flexible work policy, there aren't any current requirements for the number of days you come to the office.
Must-Haves
- A focus on quality. You understand quality in the big picture and strive to use what you know to improve quality and velocity.
- Technical know-how. You have in-depth experience with testing desktop and web applications, as well as a deep knowledge of automation and its industry-recognised principles. You've implemented the test pyramid and have experience working with developers and QA to shift testing left.
- A customer focus. You think critically about user experience and ensure our testing approach adapts to match those workflows.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Playwright. As this is one of the key frameworks we use, commercial experience with it is a plus.
- Familiarity with hardware. You’ve had experience working with relevant hardware products, such as wearable devices.

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is displayed below—starting salaries will typically fall near the middle of this range.
We make compensation decisions based on an individual's experience, skills and education in line with our internal pay equity practices.
This role will also be eligible for a long-term incentive (LTI) award. Any bonuses awarded are based on individual and company performance paid at Hudl's discretion.

What do we need
We are seeking a Senior QA/SDET to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge scientific software products, including LUMA. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving quality across the engineering lifecycle through a combination of strategic test planning, robust automation, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
As a Senior QA/SDET, you will take ownership of designing and evolving test frameworks, expanding automation coverage, and continuously improving quality engineering practices. You’ll work closely with developers, application scientists, and DevOps engineers to proactively identify risks, validate complex functionality, and ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality software.
While the primary focus of this role is automation, it may also involve aspects of manual exploratory testing, particularly in early-stage features or areas with high scientific complexity.
In this role you will get to
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable automation test suites for web-based scientific applications.
- Define and execute comprehensive test strategies and plans that ensure high test coverage across functional, regression, integration, and system levels
- Collaborate with product teams to identify test scenarios, reproduce complex defects, and validate bug fixes in coordination with developers and scientists.
- Drive quality engineering best practices and contribute to continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) workflows.
- Ensure accurate documentation of test results, automation processes, and framework enhancements.
- Work with leading experts in development, scientific product management and other excellent SDETs.
- Contribute to the overall test architecture and mentor junior QA and automation engineers as needed.
We are looking for people who have at 6+ years’ experience in QA/Testing, including at least 4 years focused on automation, and who demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, with a methodical, detail-oriented approach. You should be confident owning complex test initiatives end-to-end, driving quality strategy, and delivering reliable automation in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
The Key Skills we are looking for
- Expertise in Cypress, including the use of custom commands, advanced debugging, plugin integration, handling Shadow DOM elements, testing React-based applications, and implementing scalable Page Object Models
- Strong command of TypeScript, particularly with features such as interfaces, generics, and asynchronous programming techniques used in building robust, maintainable test code.
- Proven experience in test case design and documentation, with a focus on creating comprehensive and reusable test scenarios that support long-term quality goals.
- Ability to effectively interpret API documentation and translate it into high-quality automated test coverage, while also writing clear, maintainable documentation for test frameworks, tools, and QA processes.
- Deep understanding of Git, including advanced usage of Git workflows, branch management, and experience collaborating within structured environments using JIRA or similar tracking systems.
You may also have:
- Experience building and executing performance tests using tools like K6 or similar load testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with data integrity validation strategies, particularly in the context of release upgrades, data migrations, or schema changes.

Sales Development Representative (AI-Powered QA Automation)

We're building an AI copilot for web testing automation. It enables manual and automation QA engineers to turn their manual testing flows into production-ready automated E2E testing scripts, saving hours of manual work and coding. We are a small team with zero bureaucracy, focusing on real users. We optimize for shipping value - not hype.
About the role:
You'll own the top of the funnel: outbound, qualification, and getting leads to sit down for a conversation. Demos, onboarding, and retention are staying with the founder for now.
Phase one: Get individual Automation QAs to try the product, aiming for fast adoption and no procurement. Once we hit 20+ weekly users, we’ll move on to phase two, where we’ll shift the focus to B2B – qualified meetings with QA Leads and Engineering Managers.
Your focus in the first three months:
- Build targeted lists: Automation QAs at companies with web products and Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium in their stack.
- Run outbound sequences (LinkedIn is the baseline, but you decide the channels). A/B test weekly.
- Design qualification gates (forms and scoring) to filter leads before the founder calls.
- Reach 20+ weekly active users after month one – ICP-qualified and giving direct feedback to engineering.
- Document what works into a repeatable playbook.
Growth path:
This role expands as your strategies deliver results. Once the user pipeline works, you can take over demos and run B2B sales end to end. From there, the natural next step is Growth Lead (funnel optimization and scaling the playbook) or Account Executive (owning deal execution).

- Have done 0-to-1 outbound for an early-stage devtool, QA tool, infrastructure product, or similar.
- Have proven cold outbound results, instead of being dependent on warm inbound.
- Be able to talk credibly about flaky tests, CI pain, and Playwright vs. Cypress. You don't need to be an engineer, but you do need domain empathy.
- Possess strong written communication skills, with the ability to craft short, sharp messages that get replies.
Nice to have:
- A QA or SDET background – you've felt the pain yourself before moving to sales or BD.
- Exposure to security/compliance objections – enough to pre-empt and route.
- Content skills – your LinkedIn posts get engagement, not just your DMs.
- Experience as one of the first 10 employees at a startup.
