Lead Developer(Node.JS/Javascript)
Lead Developers act as the primary point of contact for our clients, ensuring that teams are successful in their delivery. In this role, you will bring a strategic mindset to projects and spend time collaborating and negotiating with clients to bring a technical vision to life. Having a balance of high-level and tactical mindsets is a must, as you will spend time both with clients and your teammates.

Job responsibilities
- You will champion and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming and design patterns.
- You will oversee or take part in the entire cycle of software consulting and delivery from ideation to evolution in production and everything in between.
- You will use and advocate for continuous delivery practices to deliver high-quality software as well as value to end customers as early as possible.
- You will design solutions and choose technologies that solve clients’ problems while working within constraints and make pragmatic tradeoffs.
- You will collaborate with a variety of teammates to build features, design concepts and interactive prototypes and ensure best practices and UX specifications are embedded along the wayYou will apply the latest technology thinking from our Technology Radar to solve client problems.
- You will apply a variety of languages and tools to your work and continue to code alongside Developers; you will not be post-technical in this role.
- You will efficiently utilize and champion DevSecOps tools and practices to build and deploy software, advocating devops culture and shifting security left in development.
- You will cultivate Thoughtworker growth and development by encouraging feedback and fostering an inclusive, supportive team culture.
Job qualifications
Technical Skills
- You are well-versed in two or more languages (Node.JS/ Javascript) and are comfortable with the latest Object-Oriented technology.
- You have led software development teams using Agile, Lean and/or Continuous.
- Knowledge of delivery approaches such as TDD, continuous integration, pairing and infrastructure automation.
- Bonus points if you have knowledge of cloud technology such as AWS, Docker or Kubernetes.
- You enjoy continuously learning and improving, whether it is through functional programming paradigms, event driven architecture, platform engineering or others.
Professional Skills
- You have experience influencing others and always advocate for technical excellence while being open to change when needed.
- You bridge product and technology by helping to translate business needs to software requirements.
- You have the ability to develop and execute a technical vision with a focus on business value.
- You will act as a mentor for less experienced peers through both your technical knowledge and ability to inspire a team to deliver extraordinary impact together.
- You’re resilient in ambiguous situations and can approach challenges from multiple perspectives.

Senior Quality Analyst
Woven between all the stages of the delivery process is the work of a Quality Analyst: the technologist who focuses on the complexity and risk inherent in building solutions. By collaborating with each team member—Developer, Business Analyst, Designer, etc.—they ensure quality is thoughtfully examined in both processes and technology. QAs are more than testers; they're team motivators and strive to inspire all teammates to weave quality into their mindsets and code.
Job responsibilities
- Advocate for quality being built into software and products and aspire to 'shift quality to the left' i.e. highlight and put measures for risk mitigations within the team as early as possible.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to embed quality at every stage of product evolution from ideation to customer usage.
- Regularly carry out exploratory testing to gain insights and uncover potential risks.
- Offer improvements to code, tests, testability and suggest tools and frameworks.
- Examine end-to-end processes including test coverage across all layers of the tech stack, ensuring quality is embedded throughout.
- Contribute to the creation of a reliable and maintainable automated testing suite to ensure simple, effective analysis of failures and avoid any test case duplication.
- Alter team approach based on standards and regulations in certain industries.
- Coach the client's team and encourage them to adopt a quality mindset.
- Advocate QA expertise to the broader tech community in Thoughtworks, speaking at conferences and acting as a mentor for junior-level QAs.
Job qualifications
Technical Skills
- You have worked as a Quality Analyst as part of a wider development team, pairing with Devs, Business Analysts, Infrastructure Engineers, and Designers to embed quality and testing mindsets within different roles.
- You have experience with agile, code management, deployment strategies and release management.
- Familiarity with practices such as TDD, BDD, CI/CD and models such as Test Pyramid and Swiss cheese.
- You are comfortable suggesting changes to both on premise and cloud architectures for enhancing quality.
- You can perform different types of functional and cross-functional testing including performance and security testing across varied architectures.
- You know how to best leverage metrics to improve lead time, deployment frequency, mean time to recovery and change fail rate.
- You can design quality strategies and can produce one for the team.
- Knowledge of user experience and user research including prototyping, personas and AB testing, which can be translated into a test strategy.

The Full Stack Engineering Department builds the Agoda web and app products. We have several teams in front-end focusing on different aspects of our products including accommodations, flights, payments, marketing, post-booking services, and more. Agoda’s marketplace is the world. We build localized and optimized user experiences at scale on every major internet platform. These include our mobile websites, native apps, and desktop sites. The Opportunity:
Lead engineer is the key role in our technology organization working together with individual contributors and senior leadership. Our Lead engineers are heavily involved in the hiring and mentoring process and are the go-to people who design and implement new systems and components. We are looking for people who are passionate to take on more responsibility and driving major architectural changes in Agoda. It’s expected from you in this role as Staff engineer to push Agoda forward technically by adopting new technologies and setting higher standards.
In this Role, you’ll get to:
- Maintain ownership and responsibility of mission critical systems.
- Be hands on – build high volume platforms using cutting-edge technologies like React and GraphQL
- Mentor and coach other software engineers
- Be a major contributor to our agile and scrum practices
- Design and lead crucial technical projects and initiatives cross teams and departments
- Stay on the leading edge of technical know-how, industry trends and drive technical innovations
What you’ll Need to Succeed:
- 12 years+ of experience developing web applications in client-side frameworks such as React, Angular, VueJS, etc., with a minimum of 3 year experiences as a Tech Lead
- B.S. in Computer Science or quantitative field; M.S. preferred
- Working experience with agile, analytics, A/B testing and/or feature flags, Continuous Delivery, Trunk-based Development
- Excellent HTML/CSS skills – you understand not only how to build the data, but how to make it look great too
- Excellent understanding of object-oriented JavaScript, TypeScript
- You love new technologies and approaches and want to use the best tools available. We want people who can help us continually evolve our stack.
- Great communication and coordination skills
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- You have a good command of the English language.
It’s Great if you have:
- Knowledge in physical architecture at scale, building resilient, no single point of failures, highly available solutions.
- Knowledge in one or more of the following: NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, ScyllaDB, ElasticSearch, Redis, DynamoDB, etc), Queueing system experience (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, Azure Service Bus, etc).
- Working Experience with Containers and Dockerization, also K8S is a plus
- Knowledge and hands on experience in CI/CD solutions would be a plus
- Strong experience in all aspects of client-side performance optimization,
- Extremely proficient in modern coding and design practices. For example, Clean Code, SOLID principals, and TDD.
- Experience in multiple front-end platforms including iOS, Android, Web, and API services
- Have worked on an app or internet company that is at scale with large numbers of users and transactions per second
- Have experience in a data driven company with experience analyzing and working with Big Data
- Lead teams and greenfield projects solving large system problems
- Worked on global projects serving world markets with distributed data centers and localization of the front end and data
