The Role
Join our high-performing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the technology powering Man Group’s hedge funds. You’ll have the autonomy, tools, and support to innovate and shape the future of our platform. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, gain mentorship from senior leaders, and develop a deep understanding of both technology and the business.
As an SRE, you’ll take ownership of service reliability and deliver solutions that make a real impact. Your initial focus will include leveraging AI to accelerate incident diagnosis and resolution, improving observability, capacity planning, and automation. Over time, you’ll work across our entire infrastructure stack, operating at scale and driving continuous improvement.

The Team
We are seeking an experienced System Engineer to join our End User Engineering team. You’ll play a critical role in building and maintaining the automation frameworks that underpin our End User infrastructure operations. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies at scale, supporting our End User platforms.
You should have the enthusiasm for leveraging AI development tools to accelerate delivery and driving their adoption across the team.
Role Responsibilities
As an System Engineer, you’ll design, implement, and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions, configuration management, monitoring systems, whilst also supporting business-as-usual activities.
You’ll work closely with the entirety of our infrastructure organization, and other platform teams to drive automation initiatives that help us further provide platforms that drive our delivery. The role is subject to on-call rotation.

Automation, Integrations, Agents, Platform, Retrieval & AI UX
As part of our Efficiency team, you will upskill and uplift every role with AI‑powered tools - automating workflows and building secure, reliable assistants, agents, and role “digital twins.” Just like broader Payhawk we obsess over customer success, our customers are every Hawk and every Payhawk customer, and we measure impact by adoption, task success, and time saved. We design human‑centered AI and manage risk responsibly.
You’re a product‑minded software engineer who designs and ships end‑to‑end AI solutions: chat UIs, APIs, orchestration, data pipelines, retrieval, evals, and guardrails. You love jumping between frontend, backend, prompts, schemas, observability, and Kubernetes to deliver measurable time savings for Hawks.
Rigorous studies show AI assistance can raise knowledge‑worker productivity, especially for less‑experienced workers - so we measure against hours saved and task success from day one.
