Tenstorrent is building next-generation AI hardware and software. This role focuses on the user-mode driver and interface layer that enables communication, resource management, and performance across our devices. You will play a key role in defining how our software stack interacts with both internal and third-party hardware.

This role is hybrid, based out of Belgrade, Serbia.

Who You Are

• Deep systems engineer with 7+ years experience in user-mode drivers or low-level systems programming.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ with solid understanding of hardware-software interfaces.
• Familiar with Linux kernel concepts and how kernel and user-space components interact.
• Experience working with external customers or partners to define and support driver or hardware interfaces.
• Exposure to safety-critical systems, automotive platforms, or Functional Safety standards such as ISO 26262 is a strong plus.

What We Need

• Design and evolve the user-mode driver layer that provides high-performance APIs for Tenstorrent devices.
• Define driver interfaces and specifications that enable the broader software stack to run across internal and third-party hardware.
• Collaborate with kernel and hardware teams to ensure efficient cross-layer design and performance.
• Drive performance engineering efforts, including benchmarking, profiling, and optimization of APIs.
• Support external integrations by defining hardware-software boundaries and enabling reliable deployment in customer environments, including safety-critical use cases where applicable.

Our Web team works on solutions that enable our clients to easily extract data from their customer’s documents, like ID cards, driver’s licenses, passports, travel visas, and credit cards, among others. Here’s what you’ll do:

• Build highly stable and reliable SDKs used by our clients all over the world
• Collaborate with product owners, QA team, and other engineers (Android engineers, iOS engineers, other Web SDKs engineers, C++ engineers)
• Work closely with product management, application software engineers, and partners to understand requirements, specify interfaces for new software frameworks, and enhance existing frameworks
• Together with other team members, participate in decision-making related to the end-user experience and developer experience. We want it to be as easy for developers to integrate our SDK as it is for the end-user to use the final application.
• Contribute to cross-platform SDK development for Flutter and React Native, bridging our Android and iOS native SDK capabilities to mobile cross-platform environments
• Further automate our release and publishing process
• Mentor other engineers and help cultivate a growing team
• Contribute to establishing good engineering practices in software development and suggest improvements for processes, tools, and projects

You'll be successful in this role if you have

• strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and web development
• deep understanding of web platform development using TypeScript and JavaScript, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and modular code
• Solid knowledge of browser APIs, memory management, concurrency (Web Workers, async/await), and performance optimization in browser environments
• Experience with web architecture and best practices – Strong understanding of web architectural patterns, browser lifecycle management, and the modern web ecosystem
• Familiarity with dependency management and package distribution tools (npm, yarn) and module bundlers (Webpack, Vite, Rollup)
• Experience with designing reusable libraries, APIs, or SDKs – Ability to design stable, well-documented APIs with a strong focus on backward compatibility, developer experience, and ease of integration across different JavaScript environments (vanilla JS, bundlers, frameworks like React/Angular/Vue)

Nice to have: 

• Experience with cross-platform frameworks (React Native and/or Flutter), including building or maintaining plugins/bridges between native Android/iOS and cross-platform layers.
• Experience with WebAssembly (WASM) and C++ interop
• Hands-on experience writing WASM bindings to C++ code, exposing native functionality to JavaScript/TypeScript consumers
• Familiarity with toolchains such as Emscripten, and understanding of the WASM execution model, memory model, and its constraints within the browser sandbox.

Your Background

• 4+ years of software testing experience, with a strong focus on native applications automation.
• Proven hands-on expertise with test Appium framework.
• Experience working with cloud based device farms such as Sauce Labs and LambdaTest
• Strong scripting ability in Java, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Solid experience in API testing using automation tools such as RestAssured.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, GitLab, or similar).
• Proficiency with Git for version control and collaborative code management.

• Experience working with SDKs in testing environments.
