Platform Engineering is the department within SRE that is responsible for a range of critical infrastructure and operational functions that support the broader engineering organization. Among these are our multi-cloud-provider Kubernetes infrastructure, networking, load balancing (including our public-facing edge and internal service mesh), and observability and alerting systems.

The Fleet Management team provides the core runtime environment that empowers our developers to build and ship products to delight our customers. We manage the end-to-end lifecycle of our Kubernetes fleet, alongside the critical components that ensure cluster reliability and security (e.g., CoreDNS, cert-manager, and Gatekeeper). As our infrastructure scales to support new use cases and products, we are spearheading a migration from Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to an Operator-driven lifecycle management model.

This role can be based out of our Austin, Boston, Los Angeles, New York City, Raleigh, or San Francisco offices, or remotely in the United States region.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 6-8 engineers, fostering a positive culture, handling career growth and performance conversations, and proactively removing blockers
• Help develop a clear technical vision and comprehensive roadmap for our runtime environment, balancing long-term strategic infrastructure goals with immediate engineering needs
• Contribute through light hands-on technical work, such as leading architectural design reviews, reviewing PRs, and stepping in to guide the team through complex operational challenges
• Act as the primary liaison for the Fleet Management team, collaborating closely with other engineering leaders to ensure platform alignment and manage stakeholder expectations

• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to resolve critical issues
• Prioritize blameless post-mortems and dedicate engineering time to systemic fixes, ensuring you aren’t paged for the same issue twice

• Have 6+ years of experience in software development and operating distributed systems
• Are proficient in Go, Python, or a similar language, with a strong commitment to code quality and testing practices (writing unit, integration, and E2E tests)
• Have deep experience using and extending containerization technologies, preferably Kubernetes
• Have a solid understanding of Linux operating system internals and networking concepts (e.g., filesystems, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS)
• Possess a customer focused mindset, treating internal developers as your primary users
• Have strong operational ownership, including a track record of debugging complex production issues and driving them to resolution
• Prefer automation over manual processes ("allergic to ops work")
• We are a small team of software engineers with a strong bias toward building software solutions to eliminate toil

• Designing and implementing secure, multi-tenant runtime environments from first principles

Anduril’s Tactical Reconnaissance and Strike Division (TRS) is responsible for design and development of Anduril’s fleet of small warfighting and surveillance drones deployed around the world, including Ghost, Anvil, Altius, and Bolt. The guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) team within TRS performs implementation, analysis, test, and validation, modeling & simulation, for GNC software solutions supporting our autonomous drone fleet. Applications include attitude and position control, waypoint and terminal guidance engagements, and navigating contested environments including communication and GPS denied environments. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining the high fidelity 6 Degree of Freedom simulation software utilized with TRS GNC for GNC algorithm development, test, and validation.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Modeling & Simulation engineer to join our team. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to develop, implement and maintain a sufficient fidelity simulations and digital twins of the myriad of different vehicles that Anduril works on. The ideal candidate has experience working on aerospace systems and understands the right fidelity of sub-system and system level modeling required to integrate with the broader flight control and mission autonomy software. The role requires the individual to be proficient in vehicle/sub-system modeling and well-versed in coding practices and software integration practices. If you have a passion for flight and like the idea of building a physics based digital representation of a flying vehicle this is the role for you!

• What You’ll Do

• Develop simulation solutions for 6DOF and Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithm development
• Develop and maintain Software-In-The-Loop (SITL) and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL) tests.
• Work closely with the flight software team to define requirements and integrate GNC software
• Characterization work (aero, optics, actuators, IMUs, etc) for both fixed wing and rotorcraft
• Review test data captured from the flight control system, subsystems, and other test instrumentation to verify vehicle performance, evaluate GNC algorithm/controller behavior, or debug incident.
• Develop models required to support functional evaluation of GNC software
• Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or a related field with exceptional skills in the field of dynamic systems and control
• 8 years professional experience in a Modeling & Simulation for supporting airborne platforms
• Demonstrated proficiency in C++, Matlab, Simulink, Simulink Embedded Coder, and Python
• Extensive experience in modeling and simulation of linear/nonlinear dynamic systems
• Experience in Monte-Carlo simulations and flight test data analysis tools and processes
• Extensive experience in the mathematical modeling and simulation of aerodynamics, rotorcraft dynamics, sensors and actuators.
• Work with multi-disciplinary subject matter experts to understand and adequately model pertinent sub-system, system and system of system dynamics
• A passion for defending the Unites States of America and its allies
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

ABOUT THE TEAM

Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) is responsible for autonomous robotics systems like the Fury unmanned fighter jet and the Barracuda family of advanced effects. The AD&S Vehicle Software team is responsible for the software running on these systems. Our software engineers collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop software for vehicle control, networking, sensor integration, and telemetry. We are looking for engineers excited to build the foundational vehicle software stack that supports the wide range of AD&S initiatives, from early concept simulation to first flight to live operations to large scale fleet management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience in Software testing or related technical experience
• Experience with requirements based verification and implementation of verification strategies with a strong emphasis on automated tests
• Have extensive knowledge of software development, processes, and verification tools, such as C/C++, Python
• Track record of architecting software test plans in the Aerospace and Defense space
• In-depth knowledge of requirements management, risk based testing approaches, defect tracking, and configuration control
• Strong Knowledge of Software Testing Principles And Methodologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience standing up automated hardware-in-the-loop testing infrastructure
• Functional knowledge of mission autonomy for collaborative platforms, including crewed/uncrewed teaming and formation flight
• Knowledge of data fusion from multiple sensor and track sources, with understanding of distributed fusion principles

About the role

Anthropic runs some of the largest Kubernetes clusters in the industry. We have fleets of hundreds of thousands of nodes across multiple cloud providers and datacenters to train, research, and serve frontier AI models. The Kubernetes Platform team owns the Kubernetes control plane that makes those clusters work.

We are operating at a scale where the defaults stop working. We own the scheduler and extend it to place topology-sensitive ML workloads across thousands of accelerators at once. We scale the control plane itself — apiserver, etcd, controllers — so it stays responsive as object counts and node counts grow by orders of magnitude. And we build the core cluster services every workload depends on, like service discovery, so they hold up under the same pressure.

We make sure the control plane is fast, correct, and always available. Your work will directly determine whether Anthropic can keep reliably and safely training frontier models as our compute footprint continues to grow.

Key responsibilities

• Own, operate, and extend the Kubernetes scheduler for Anthropic's accelerator fleets, including custom scheduling plugins and policies for gang scheduling, topology awareness, and preemption
• Scale the Kubernetes control plane (apiserver, etcd, controller-manager) to support clusters far beyond typical limits, and find the next bottleneck before it finds us
• Design, build, and operate core cluster services such as service discovery that every workload in the fleet depends on
• Build and maintain custom controllers, operators, and CRDs
• Partner with research, training, and inference to understand workload shapes and turn their requirements into platform capabilities
• Collaborate with cloud providers on required features and escalations
• Participate in on-call, lead incident response, and design processes (postmortems, runbooks, SLOs) that help the team avoid repeating failures

Minimum qualifications

• Significant software engineering experience building and operating production distributed systems
• Proficiency in at least one systems-appropriate language (e.g., Go, Python, Rust, or C++)
• Deep, hands-on Kubernetes experience (well beyond "user of”) into scheduler, controllers, apiserver, or operating large multi-tenant clusters
• Demonstrated ability to debug complex issues across the stack, from API behavior down to node and network-level root causes
• A track record of designing for reliability, correctness, and clear failure semantics in systems other engineers depend on
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfort building consensus with internal stakeholders

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes internals or contributions: kube-scheduler / scheduling framework, apiserver, etcd, client-go, controller-runtime, or similar
• Experience building or operating cluster schedulers or batch systems (e.g., Kueue, Volcano, Slurm, or in-house equivalents)
• Background scaling control planes or coordination systems (etcd, ZooKeeper, Consul, or large DNS/service-mesh deployments)
• Familiarity with ML infrastructure: GPUs, TPUs, or Trainium; gang scheduling; topology-aware placement; collective networking such as NCCL
• Experience with GCP and/or AWS, including GKE/EKS internals and Infrastructure as Code
• Low-level systems experience such as Linux kernel tuning, cgroups, or eBPF
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience, including time leading large, ambiguous infrastructure projects

Reporting to the Manager of Infra::Machines::Design, you will support sustaining engineering efforts for the hardware infrastructure of the DigitalOcean server fleet. The ideal candidate will be eager to face new challenges as DigitalOcean continues to scale its data center footprint and infrastructure cloud capacity and explore new technologies and capabilities to bring to our customers, providing top-tier support for our hardware and firmware in the DO fleet.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Act a member of the Sustaining Engineering team in the Infra::Machines::Design Organization
• Support server hardware, cabling, and networking hardware throughout its operational lifecycle 
• Monitor the #machines channel and MACHINES JIRA project for issues and drive them to resolution

Our mandate is to make inference deployment boring and unattended.

As a Software Engineer on the Launch Engineering team, you'll design and build the deployment infrastructure that moves inference code from merge to production. Every request that hits Claude — from claude.ai, the API, our cloud partners, or internal research — passes through a routing decision. Not a generic load balancer round-robin, but a decision that accounts for what's already cached where, which accelerator the request runs best on, and what else is in flight across the fleet. Get it right and you extract meaningfully more throughput from the same hardware. Get it wrong and you burn capacity, miss latency SLOs, or shed load that shouldn't have been shed.

The Inference Routing team owns this layer. We build the cluster-level routing and coordination plane for Anthropic's inference fleet — the system that sits between the API surface and the inference engines themselves, making fleet-wide efficiency decisions in real time. As Anthropic moves from "many independent inference replicas" toward "a single warehouse-scale computer running a coordinated program," Dystro is the coordination layer.

This is a deeply technical team. The engineers here design custom load-balancing algorithms, build quantitative models of system performance, debug latency spikes that cross kernel, network, and framework boundaries, and reason carefully about cache placement across thousands of accelerators. They work shoulder-to-shoulder with teams that write kernels and ML framework internals. The EM for this team doesn't need to write kernels — but they do need the systems depth to make architectural calls, evaluate deeply technical candidates, and spot when a proposed optimization will have second-order effects on the fleet.

You'll inherit a strong team of distributed-systems engineers, and you'll be accountable for two things that pull in different directions: shipping system-level performance improvements that measurably increase fleet throughput and efficiency, and running the team operationally so that deploys are safe, incidents are rare, and the teams who depend on Dystro can plan around you with confidence. About the role

Anthropic is expanding beyond cloud infrastructure, and this role sits at the heart of that effort. As a Staff Engineer on the Datacenter Server Lifecycle team, you will own the end-to-end operational journey of every machine in our facility — from initial provisioning and deployment, across its working life, through maintenance and refresh, and all the way to decommissioning. This is greenfield work: you will help define the processes, tooling, and operational standards that govern how we run and retire hardware at scale.

A distinguishing aspect of this role is its deep intersection with security. The machines in our datacenter handle some of the most sensitive workloads in AI — training frontier models and serving millions of users interacting with Claude. Ensuring that every machine in the fleet is trusted, attested, and operating with a verified chain of integrity from the hardware up is a core part of the job, not an afterthought. As a software engineer with a backend focus, you will work closely with your team and product management to prioritize, design, implement, test, and operate micro-services for the Databricks platform and product. About the Role

As a Technical Program Manager on the Compute team, you will help drive the planning, coordination, and execution of programs that keep Anthropic's compute infrastructure running efficiently at scale. Our compute fleet is the foundation on which every model training run, evaluation, and inference workload depends.

You'll join a small, high-impact TPM team and take ownership of critical workstreams across the compute lifecycle, from how supply is procured and brought online, to how capacity is allocated and utilized across teams. The exact focus will depend on your strengths and the team's evolving needs.

You'll partner with Infrastructure, Systems, Research, Finance, and Capacity Engineering to shape the processes, tooling, and coordination mechanisms that allow Anthropic to move fast while managing an increasingly complex compute environment.

• Own and drive critical programs across the compute lifecycle, coordinating execution across multiple engineering, research, and operations teams
• Build and maintain operational visibility into the compute fleet, ensuring the organization has a clear picture of supply, demand, utilization, and health

About the Role

We're seeking a Platform Hardware Security Engineer to design and implement security architectures for bare-metal infrastructure. You'll work with teams across Anthropic to build firmware, bootloaders, operating systems, and attestation systems to ensure the integrity of our infrastructure from the ground up.

This role requires expertise in low-level systems security and the ability to architect solutions that balance security requirements with the performance demands of training AI models across our massive fleet.

What you'll do:

• Design and implement secure boot chains from firmware through OS initialization for diverse hardware platforms (CPUs, BMCs, switches, peripherals, and embedded microcontrollers)
• Architect attestation systems that provide cryptographic proof of system state from hardware root of trust through application layer

We're looking for a Product/UX Designer to own the design of Hubble's core product surfaces: the dashboard, developer documentation, and mobile app. This role sits at the intersection of product and engineering, and requires deeply understanding how developers and enterprise operators experience Hubble across every touchpoint, from reading our docs and setting up physical hardware for the first time, to managing a large fleet of connected assets in the field.

You'll be the person who holds the full user journey in mind and makes sure the experience is coherent across all of it. You'll talk directly to customers, conduct research, and bring that understanding back into every design decision. You'll also build the design systems and foundations that let Hubble design consistently as the product scales.

This role is for someone who combines strong design craft with genuine technical curiosity and real empathy for developer audiences. You should be equally comfortable discussing API design and device constraints with engineers and sitting with a customer to understand how they think about connectivity, asset visibility, or operational monitoring, and then turning that understanding into product experiences that feel intuitive and well-considered

Preference is for the role to be in Seattle, but West Coast Remote could be okay!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and evolve Hubble's dashboard: the primary surface where developers and enterprise operators onboard devices, manage fleets, and extract operational signal from their connected assets
• Design for velocity. Think big about the end-state experience, but break it into shippable increments. Structure work so that we can crawl, walk, and run, validating early, learning quickly, and avoiding over-design before product-market fit signals are clear.
• Design the developer docs experience, working with engineering and technical writers to make documentation that is clear, navigable, and genuinely useful for developers at every stage of integration
• Design the Hubble mobile app, with an understanding of how the mobile context differs from the dashboard and what developers and operators need when they are in the field
• Think across the full user journey. A developer's experience of Hubble spans documentation, APIs, physical device setup, the dashboard, and the mobile app. Your designs should account for how those touchpoints connect and hand off to each other.
• Build and maintain a design language system with documented components and usage guidance that scales across product surfaces and supports engineering velocity
• Deliver complete design artifacts: user flows, state coverage across idle, loading, success, error, and empty states, and handoffs that give engineers what they need to build without follow-up
• Use AI tools to move faster and explore more broadly. Generate multiple directions early, synthesize user research efficiently, and prototype ideas at a fidelity useful for getting feedback before committing to a direction.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of product design experience with a portfolio that demonstrates strong craft and strong UX thinking. 
• Experience designing for developer audiences across multiple touchpoints. You understand how developers evaluate tools, what earns their trust, and how to design across surfaces like documentation, APIs, dashboards, and mobile in a way that feels cohesive. Bonus if you have thought about design across the full developer journey, including the physical hardware context developers are building in.
• Comfort with the full range of UX work: journey mapping, user flows, wireframing, interaction design, visual design, and prototype-based testing. You move fluidly between strategic and detailed work.
• Fluency with modern design tools and AI-assisted workflows that results in faster iteration, broader exploration, and higher-quality output.
• Strong fundamentals in information architecture, visual hierarchy, interaction design, and accessibility
• Experience with developer platforms, IoT, connectivity, infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS preferred
