PagerDuty - Senior Forward Deployment Engineering Delivery Consultant (FKA Senior Scaled Delivery | Success on Demand Consultant) 

The Senior PagerDuty - Forward Deployment Engineering Consultant is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end development, deployment, and optimization of PagerDuty's platform and AI-driven solutions for enterprise customers. 

This position requires experience in software development, architecture, and deployment, coupled with a deep technical understanding of AI integration practices and advanced development technologies. 

The successful candidate will guide fast implementation projects, leveraging generative AI and automation to enhance customer outcomes from initial scoping and design through to production deployment and ongoing service enhancement. 

Additionally, they will serve as the principal liaison between customers and internal teams, including Support, Success, Engineering, Professional Services, and Education, as well as between customers and PagerDuty’s Product & Development teams, ensuring that technical strategies align with business objectives. 

This role also involves mentoring junior consultants, leading technical workshops on AI-powered solutions, and representing PagerDuty in external forums to advance modern development and deployment practices. 

Responsibilities: 

• As a Senior Forward Deployment Engineering Delivery Consultant, you will be responsible for collaborating with PagerDuty customers on the successful design, development, and implementation of solutions across the PagerDuty Operations Cloud. 
• Collaborate with large-scale enterprises to perform comprehensive scoping assessments, ensuring that the specific technical and business requirements for platform deployment and AI solutions are thoroughly defined and aligned with organizational objectives. 
• Lead end-to-end deployment projects by planning, coordinating, and executing the integration of PagerDuty solutions, leveraging advanced development techniques to ensure seamless transitions and minimal disruption to ongoing business operations. 
• Partner across the organization’s customer-facing teams (Support, Success, Engineering, Professional Services, Education) as the Subject Matter Expert related to PagerDuty Operations Cloud. Support customer account teams in customer meetings, business reviews, and strategy, deployment, and upgrade planning, particularly where new product features or improvements may be required. 
• Partner across PagerDuty Product & Development teams as the Subject Matter Expert, bringing direct customer feedback for new features, AI capabilities, and integration requirements for improvement in future product releases. 
• Develop a deep understanding of PagerDuty products, solutions, integrations, processes, and workflows used in typical customer engagements.

Requirements: 

• 5–8 years of experience as a Software Developer or Engineer in enterprise-level environments.
• Cloud & Architecture Mastery: Proficient in AWS, Kubernetes, Serverless architectures, and CI/CD pipelines. 
• AI Implementation: Experienced in deploying generative AI models and integrating them into complex platforms. 
• AI-Driven Development: Skilled in using AI Coding Assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini) for rapid prototyping and agent-based delivery. 
• Tech Stack: Proficient in Python, Java, React, and TypeScript for building REST APIs and data pipelines. 
• DevOps Best Practices: Proven track record in debugging, testing, security, and managing the full software delivery lifecycle. 
• Strategic Leadership: Experience managing large-scale platform deployments and AI initiatives from scoping to delivery. 
• Stakeholder Management: Ability to influence senior executives and translate technical strategies into business outcomes.

Responsibilities - Deployment

• Work with our co-location partners to design appropriate cage, rack and server layouts and to ensure the ongoing provision of space, power and cooling in support of existing and forecasted solutions.
• Work with the engineering/architecture teams to design solutions so as to maximize performance, efficiency and operability of hosted solutions.
• Lead and/or participate in the provisioning and deployment of server, network and other hosting-related equipment, including hands-on build and configuration as/when required
• Participate in the deployment of new applications and/or changes, ensuring that all service components are documented and monitored and integrated into the company’s operational processes.
• Perform hardware qualification testing on new hardware platforms and certify them for production deployments.
• Work with stakeholders across the solutions lifecycle to ensure that pre-operational sign-offs are obtained, so as to ensure that solutions can be operated in a way that meets or exceeds performance targets e.g. security, availability and response times.
• Assist with the troubleshooting of integration issues.
• Consulting with technical stakeholders (including customers) on the delivery of hosted solutions.

Responsibilities – Operations

• Hands-on administration and maintenance of hosted solutions and related infrastructure (firewalls, switches, servers (IBM P series, Dell PowerFlex, Dell PowerEdge, etc.) including pro-active identification and fixing of potential incidents, backup management, etc.
• Participate in the definition, documentation, operation and continuous improvement of operational processes e.g. ITIL-based processes such as incident, change, problem and configuration management, and the smooth integration of these with wider company processes and systems.
• Define, implement, monitor and report on metrics that are required for the delivery of highly-available hosted services, as well as to meet the needs of the wider organization e.g. management, engineering, customer services and our customers.
• Provide technical support for all areas of hosted services, including participation on a 24x7 on-call rota; ensure the timely resolution of incidents and/or problems affecting hosted solutions and deploy approved changes and/or updates as required.
• Further enhance the automation of hosting-related processes e.g. deployment of changes, deployment of new services, inventory management, security scanning, service level reporting, etc.

Experience & Qualifications

• English level : at  least B2, C1 preferred, capable of sustaining a conversation with team members form North America and Europe
• Strong hands-on experience with server hosting (e.g. data center) infrastructure
• Hands-on storage/SAN deployment and (ideally) management experience with IBM Flashsystem, Dell Powerstore.
• Hands-on AWS and/or GCP experience. Certifications in any of these hyperscalers are a plus.
• Hands-on Networking/Firewall solutions, preferably Cisco (Routing, ASA, FTD). Knowledge of Load Balancing/DNS Global Load Balancing solutions.
• Hands-on VMware deployment and management experience with VMware 8.x.  Hands-on experience with Nutanix (desirable).
• Hands-on Linux deployment and management experience with RHEL 8.x and above.
• Experience with Veritas (NetBackup, Backup Exec) and Veeam, configuration and operation.
• Hands-on Windows domain and AD management experience
• Knowledge of service monitoring and alerting (Nagios, CheckMK preferred)
• Knowledge of configuration management (Puppet and/or Red Hat Satellite preferred)
• Scripting for automation using technologies (e.g. Ansible, Bash, Python, Powershell, Puppet)

Based from our Huechuraba office, pre-sales engineers provide guidance in the use of InterSystems' products as they best suit the requirements of our customer and their market. You will partner with our Country Sales Manager on product and business strategies to apply existing and new products to customers' database and application needs. You will face wide-ranging challenges, requiring a mixture of design skills, hands-on coding, presentation skills, technical architecture, sales awareness, business acumen, evangelism, mentoring and training. You may be requested to travel occasionally around Latin America or to attend international meetings and trainings.

Responsibilities 

• Investigate & demonstrate the use of InterSystems products with other 3rd party technologies.
• Manage the technical relationship with customer accounts, ensuring that they are aware of the latest capabilities
• Identify new opportunities within existing accounts.
• Build and demonstrate Proofs of Concept (PoCs) for prospects and partners in order to illustrate the suitability, ease of use, performance, features, reliability and/or connectivity capabilities of InterSystems technology.
• Participate in business and detailed technical discussions at all levels and in all departments of the customer's organization to foster the adoption, use and deployment of Product technologies.
• Recommend technical architecture, database schema, design patterns, migration and upgrade strategies and operational best practices.
• Install InterSystems software and assist with benchmarking exercises to determine optimal deployment configurations.
• Work as a hands-on lead application developer to coach partners and prospects, particularly in the early stages of adoption or during particularly technically challenging projects.
• Provide application programming in Caché Objects, SQL, ObjectScript, and other technologies.
• Give corporate presentations to InterSystems' customers and prospects at site visits, marketing events and such venues. Topic includes strategic and tactical technical and business directions and technical product demonstrations.
• Carry out formal training courses in InterSystems technologies.
• Support customers and prospects during beta test programmes or pre-launch activities and provide feedback to the software development groups.
• Assist with troubleshooting and interact with the World-wide Response Centre (WRC) to support resolution of technical problems.
• Provide consulting services for the Sales Department and other InterSystems departments (Marketing, Support, Development, Documentation among others) as requested.

Qualifications 

Essential 

• Proven experience working with customers on complex challenges, combined with the ability to coordinate or mentor internal teams. Demonstrated capability and motivation to take on increasing management and stakeholder‑facing responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

• Ongoing experience within the design, development & deployment of complex applications.

• Knowledge of competing application frameworks and application servers such as .NET, Python, NodeJS, Javascript, PHP, Django o J2ee. Practical experience with at least one of them.  

• Knowledge of Software development processes such as XP, RAD, RUP or DSDM.  

• Extensive use of 1 or more databases such as Caché, Oracle, SQLServer, Sybase, Informix or DB2/UDB, including designing logical and physical database schema, good SQL and JDBC/ODBC expertise, installation and configuration skills, and performance tuning.  

• Proven business analysis and problem-solving skills.  

• Understanding of the business considerations of application development, support and deployment.  

• Knowledge of HTML5 and developing applications using modern web frameworks such as Angular and design libraries such as Bootstrap with server side communication with REST.  

• Proficiency in Spanish and English.

Desirable 

• 5-10 years of experience programming with demonstrable current hands-on expertise in object-oriented languages such as C#, C++ or Java / J2ee

• Interest in growing into a leadership‑oriented role that extends beyond technical responsibilities.

• General knowledge of Cloud Infrastructures such as GCP.  

• General knowledge of Docker Containers · Proven leadership or technical management in an application development environment. · 

• Experience running formal technical training courses.

• Broad knowledge of IT Industry issues, trends and technical knowledge in any of the following specific vertical markets:  

- HealthCare
