What You'll Do

Epic Games is seeking talented, experienced Technical UI Designers to work on Fortnite. In this position, you will have a role as a collaborative team member implementing UI systems in Unreal engine, building rapid prototypes, layouts, visual scripting, and leveling up our workflows. You will work with UX Designers, UI Artists, and UI Engineers to ship these features to millions of users worldwide. The ideal candidate would have expertise in introductory algebra and geometry math ("Game math"), game systems, and fundamental programming principles.

In this role, you will

• Work on UI Systems Design, break down feature/wireframes into necessary widgets, structures, and classes; increase UI performance by ensuring best practices are followed by colleagues
• Ensure assets/UI are within memory and CPU constraints. Learning to profile performance and the costs of UMG/Slate/C++/and texture memory
• Implement blueprint logic when presentation logic calls for it. Assist UI Artists where necessary in implementing special presentation behavior. Consult with UI engineers on the logic that will be in the blueprint vs native code
• Debug blueprints/UMG issues quickly using various tools and techniques
• Find ways to assist UX, UI Art, and UI engineering in organization, documentation, and building workflow improvements

What we're looking for

• 3-6+ years of experience in building UI and experiences in game engines and across multiple platforms (mobile, web, pc, consoles) or similar transferable experience
• 2+ years of experience shipping updates and new features to a user base on a regular cadence or similar transferable experience
• Professional experience using game engines (Custom engine, Unity, UE4, Lumberyard, Snowdrop, etc.), and preparing game assets for them. You have an eye for pixel-perfect UI, translating and spotting various potential issues with mockups as you help see the designs into the engine
• You are a logical problem solver and have attention to detail
• You can "translate" communication across departments (talk to engineering about UI Art needs, summarize technical issues, etc.), but also have empathy for non-technical team members and the ability to empower others on your team

• Encontrará maneiras de auxiliar UX, UI Art e engenharia de UI na organização, documentação e construção de melhorias no fluxo de trabalho

O que estamos procurando

• Experiência de três a seis anos na criação de UI e experiências em engines de jogos e em múltiplas plataformas (mobile, web, PC, consoles) ou experiência equivalente
• Mais de dois anos de experiência lançando atualizações e novos recursos para uma base de usuários em uma cadência regular ou experiência equivalente
• Experiência profissional com Photoshop, Figma, engines  de jogos (Custom Engine, Unity, UE4, Lumberyard, Snowdrop etc.) e experiência com pacotes 3D em jogos (3D Studio, Maya etc.)
• Ter boa percepção para UI-perfect, traduzindo e identificando potenciais problemas  com mockups ao integrar os designers na engine
• Habilidade para resolver problemas de forma lógica e atenção aos detalhes
• Capacidade de “traduzir” a comunicação entre departamentos (explicar necessidades de UI Art para engenheiros, resumir problemas técnicos, etc.), além de empatia por membros não técnicos da equipe e a habilidade de capacitá-los

Senior UX Designer – We're seeking an experienced professional for our rapidly expanding CX team, to work alongside Leads in UX, UI and Service Design, Optimization and Consulting.

The opportunity:

Reporting into the Lead UX, this is a role requiring someone with excellent ecommerce/online experience, and who has a portfolio to prove it.

As Senior UX Designer, you’ll be a key part of the team and expected to take the initiative in ensuring the customers’ needs and our clients’ requirements are fully understood and met by the proposed solution. This is a practical role requiring someone with excellent technical ability who can lead and craft UX project deliverables across all phases of the design process, including running business requirements workshops, research and usability testing, and the creation of design artifacts such as journey maps, wireframes and prototypes.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and running product definition and UX requirements workshops
• Scoping and managing a variety of both qualitative and quantitative research
• Analysing research data to identify and generate meaningful insights and behavioural patterns
• Using design thinking techniques to identify opportunity areas for new experiences, propositions, products and services, then help bring together the thinking around feasible, and viable solutions

Qualifications and characteristics

• 6+ years within a dedicated digital design role (agency or client-side).
• Exceptional visual design aesthetics with a strong UX/UI portfolio to demonstrate craft, interaction, and motion.
• Experience in user experience, user testing, and user research.
• Experience working with, and creating design systems.
• Proven ability to design brand identities, grid systems, responsive layouts and applications for web, desktop and mobile.
• Strong attention to visual detail, typography, color, and motion principles.
• Experience in Agile and Sprint working methodologies.
• Strong experience in Figma.
• Strong organizational skills and flexibility to adapt to different processes and workflow.
• Handle tight deadlines with ease, and able to work on multiple projects
• C-Level English both written and Spoken.

A plus:

• Motion design & illustration skills.
• Experience experimenting with emerging AI-first design tools.
• Experience with using CMS such as Wordpress or others.
• Working knowledge in HTML/CSS.
• Basic understanding of web development languages and technologies as well as Bootstrap framework behavior.
