Today, nearly 200 people around the globe work on Speechify in a 100% distributed setting – Speechify has no office. These include frontend and backend engineers, AI research scientists, and others from Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, leading PhD programs like Stanford, high growth startups like Stripe, Vercel, Bolt, and many founders of their own companies
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI (or related UI frameworks), C#, XAML, and — when needed — C++.
- Define and enforce best-practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase: code architecture, performance, memory usage, responsive UI, cross-version compatibility (Windows 10/11+), and maintainability.
- Drive accessibility efforts: integrate and validate support for accessibility APIs (e.g. Microsoft UI Automation or other relevant Windows accessibility frameworks), ensure UI controls, focus management, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and usability for users with disabilities.
- Collaborate closely with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other stakeholders to shape feature planning, UI/UX architecture, and long-term roadmap for the Windows platform.
- Take ownership of full lifecycle of features: conception → design → implementation → testing → release → maintenance. Ensure quality, reliability, and consistency across releases.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, rendering issues, or compatibility problems — and propose robust architectural or design solutions.
Required:
- 3+ in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI (or similar), C#, XAML — and ideally additional experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM).
- Deep understanding of Windows application architecture, including interop between managed code (.NET) and native code.
- Proven track record of designing, building, and shipping production-quality desktop applications, with an emphasis on reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows (e.g. Microsoft UI Automation or similar), and a dedication to building accessible and inclusive software.
- Excellent software engineering fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, multi-threading or asynchronous programming (where relevant).
- Experience leading technical design, mentoring other engineers, conducting code reviews, and making architecture-level decisions.
- Strong communication skills; ability to articulate tradeoffs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive consensus.
- A user-centric mindset: focus on building polished, intuitive, and accessible experiences for end users.
Preferred / Bonus:
- Experience with writing automated tests for UI — unit tests, integration tests, UI automation tests; familiarity with relevant testing frameworks.
- Experience with performance optimization for desktop apps (memory usage, startup time, rendering performance, high-DPI support, responsiveness under load).
- Experience with localization/globalization, right-to-left UI support, internationalization, accessibility for multiple regions.
- Familiarity with telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, logging, and error monitoring in desktop applications.
- Previous experience in shaping CI/CD workflows, release pipelines, and deployment strategies for desktop applications.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of feature areas or modules and drive them long-term, including maintenance, refactoring, and technical debt management.

As the AI/ML Product Manager, you will own the AI/ML roadmap and therefore be accountable for identifying opportunities where artificial intelligence and machine learning can deliver meaningful value to our customers, translating complex technical capabilities into user-friendly solutions, and ensuring the successful integration of our models and algorithms into Ark. You will need to think strategically about how to position Govini as a leader in Defense AI, identify competitive advantages and market opportunities through AI/ML capabilities, and drive strategic decisions about how AI/ML innovations differentiate Govini in the marketplace. As a Senior AV Test Engineer, you will take a lead role in the strategy, planning, and execution of comprehensive test campaigns that span perception, planning, and control systems across virtual, closed-course, and public road environments.
In this role, you will guide test development efforts across multiple AV subsystems, mentor junior engineers, and drive improvements to our tooling, test infrastructure, and methodologies. You will lead cross-functional initiatives that directly impact release readiness and safety assurance, translating high-level engineering requirements into scalable test plans and measurable quality outcomes. Your work will contribute to iterative development, fault injection analysis, and validation of safety-critical systems that meet the highest standards for reliability and compliance.
Essential Duties:
Technical Leadership & Validation:
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of validation campaigns across simulation, SIL, HIL, and on-vehicle environments, with a focus on perception, planning, and control systems.
- Serve as the technical lead for scenario-based testing, utilizing platforms like Applied Intuition or equivalents for synthetic and re-simulation use cases.
- Lead AV capability campaigns, employing AB Dynamics equipment for system-level validation and performance benchmarking.
- Own the creation and execution of test plans for complex mechatronic and software systems, including drive-by-wire (DBW), braking, steering, and system integrations.
Test Infrastructure & Analysis:
- Develop and maintain robust test infrastructure using Python, Shell, and automation frameworks, ensuring modular, reusable, and scalable test architecture.
- Conduct detailed analysis of logs and system behavior, supporting root-cause investigations across AV software and hardware components.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Participate in and lead QA review cycles, helping to define entry/exit criteria, regression coverage, and release readiness gates.
- Ensure traceability and compliance by documenting procedures, results, and outcomes using Jira, GitLab, and Confluence.
- Contribute to compliance with safety-critical standards such as ISO26262, ISO21448 (SOTIF), and ISO9001.
Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Represent the Test Engineering function in cross-functional planning meetings, collaborating closely with perception, planning, controls, and safety teams.
- Mentor and support junior Test Engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Strategic Adaptation & Support:
- Continuously adapt and optimize test strategies in response to evolving product requirements, architectural shifts, and real-world findings.
- Support after-hours testing or incident triage as needed by fleet or field operations.
- Travel domestically on occasion to support on-site testing or operational deployments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Robotics, ECE, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in software QA or system testing, including AV, ADAS, robotics, or safety-critical systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in test strategy, test case development, test execution, and automation for complex mechatronic or autonomous systems.
- Experience leading end-to-end testing across software stacks and physical systems, including SIL, HIL, and real-world deployments.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in debugging, log parsing, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional alignment and effectively report technical findings.
- Proven ability to lead technical efforts, mentor junior engineers, and operate with minimal oversight.
- High level of initiative, ownership, and accountability in a fast-paced, startup-style engineering environment.
- Flexible schedule and willingness to support late meetings, night shifts, or urgent test activities as required.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Deep familiarity with CAN-based tools (CANalyzer, CANoe) for fault injection, bus analysis, and subsystem verification.
- Working knowledge of industry standards for safety-critical systems such as ISO26262, ISO21448 (SOTIF), and ISO9001.
- Familiarity with AV safety case development or safety validation workflows.
- Experience with robotic middleware (e.g., ROS), cloud telemetry systems, or AV data pipelines.
- Experience in a cross-site or global engineering organization.

About the Team
You’ll work most closely with the systems engineers on the MHE Vision platform. You’ll collaborate with the MHEV team on integrated system testing and debugging, with the ML team on validating model outputs against ground truth data, and with Customer Support and Product Management on field-reported edge cases and quality priorities.
About the Role
We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our Pittsburgh team and strengthen the testing and validation layer for our MHE Vision platform. You will work hands-on with real data and real systems — analyzing large transaction datasets to extract ground truth, building and maintaining regression test infrastructure, and contributing to integrated system tests in our lab.
This is a high-impact early-career role with real ownership and visibility. Your analysis directly improves product quality for customers, and you’ll have the opportunity to grow into test automation, systems engineering, or QA leadership as the company scales.
What You’ll Do
- Manually analyze large transaction datasets (100+ records) to extract ground truth, identify anomalies, mismatches, and edge cases, and validate system outputs against expected behavior
- Build and maintain regression test infrastructure, integrating new edge cases sourced from field deployments into the existing test suite
- Participate in integrated system tests in the Pittsburgh lab alongside systems engineers, executing test procedures and documenting results
- Perform first-level root cause analysis (RCA) on test failures and route issues clearly to the appropriate engineering owners
- Develop structured processes for collecting and cataloging field edge cases into repeatable test cases
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the test and validation pipeline through clear documentation, reporting, and collaboration with engineering leads
What You’ll Need
- 1–3 years of experience in test engineering, QA, data analysis, or a related technical role (internship experience counts)
- Strong analytical and data review skills — comfortable working through large datasets methodically and accurately
- Python proficiency for data processing, test scripting, and automation tasks
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Must be based in or willing to work on-site in Pittsburgh (lab access required)
Nice to Have
- Experience with log analysis, telemetry, or sensor data review
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) or test pipeline integration
- Exposure to computer vision, image processing, or ML model output validation
- SQL or database querying experience for data extraction and validation

- Proven experience in creating and driving efficient process improvements that can scale

The base salary range for this position is $163-$236K per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
