We are thrilled to welcome applicants to our prestigious Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Residency Program designed to nurture and empower the next generation of mental health professionals!
Residency Program Overview
Blackbird’s Residency Program will prepare the next generation of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners to practice with confidence as specialists in child/ adolescent mental healthcare.
- Residency is a 9-12 month program designed for recent graduates or those who have not worked under licensure to jumpstart their careers in the field.
- The program is designed to support the transition from graduate school to professional practice combining clinical experience and didactic learning.
- Residents will be given the tools and support they need to provide children and adolescents with cutting edge diagnosis and treatment with personalized care, while learning to thrive in an interdisciplinary outpatient model.
- Residents will grow with their colleagues and develop relationships that will support their practice and success in the PMHNP profession.
- After successful completion of residency, graduates will have the opportunity to level up their new skills as senior members of the Blackbird medical team for at least 2 years following residency completion.

About the Role
Under the supervision of the Director of the Residency Program, you’ll play an essential role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults. You’ll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care and be empowered to make a tangible difference in the lives of young patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnosis, creating personalized treatment plans for children and adolescents, which may include prescribing medicines and other treatments
- Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals including psychotherapists on an integrated treatment plan and medication management to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
- Work from our clinic in Pittsburgh, PA up to 3 days a week (as needed).
- Meet with residency cohort & supervisor to discuss progress and challenges on a routine basis
- Provide education and consultation for patients and their families.
- Manage diagnostic testing, including digital and lab results.
- Participate in weekly team and supervisory clinical meetings.
- Maintain thorough records of patient meetings and progress and maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations
- Performs other clinical-related activities as assigned
Qualifications
We’re looking for passionate, dedicated clinicians who are ready to make a difference and are looking for a unique opportunity to learn as a first year psychiatric nurse practitioner.

Requirements:
- Have national certification of a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- 12 of your 40 weekly hours are required to be during our peak “after school hours” defined as after 4 pm ET during the week or any time on a weekend.
- Flexibility to work in person at our Pittsburgh, PA clinic up to 3 days a week (as needed)
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program (PMHNP, Master’s in NP) and must have graduated in the last ~12 months or have less than 1 year of work experience as a PMHNP.
- Candidates must have an active PMHNP license and DEA in Pennsylvania (or on track to receive it by the time residency begins.)
- Upon successfully completing the requirements of the 12-month residency program, participants will join the Blackbird Clinical Services team for an additional two-year period following their residency for a total commitment of three years.

Project Technology IV
- Design of structured cabling systems, including system hardware for specification and design, design of audio/visual systems, electronic security systems, nurse call, distributed antenna systems, outside plant, data networking, LAN/WAN, voice and data architecture and data centers.
- Establish and communicate assignments to team members. Oversee team progress and coordinates team activities and goals
- Work with A/E design team to identify technology scope and implement design of technology systems in multiple markets.
- Work with team to integrate projects, communicate and analyze information, and documents project implementation.
- Coordinate assigned project requirements and schedules with other disciplines. Understands what documentation is needed and prepares contract documents with assistance of the technology team.
- Manage multiple and/or large projects from concept stage through construction in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
- Meet with clients to learn user needs, collaborate with project team, and develop engineering concepts and recommendations.
- Visit job site to assess conflicts and make recommendations for resolution.
- Oversee the identification of staff members’ developmental needs. Review departmental evaluations and selects individuals for further training and/or advancement.
- Motivate and provide ongoing mentorship and constructive feedback to project team. Participates in the provision of ongoing feedback and mentorship across project teams.
- Review proposal drafts and provides guidance as needed. Establish timelines for proposal preparation and clarify necessary content.
- Understand clients' developmental needs; capable of establishing and maintaining professional relationships with clients; orchestrates changes in response to changes in clients’ stated needs.
- Build external relationship through networking, community and industry functions.
- Negotiate and secure new assignments on major projects.
- Ability to travel from coast to coast in order to meet project and client needs.
- May perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering required. Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years of related experience required.
- Must have knowledge of the design structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, electronic security systems, nurse call, distributed antenna systems, outside plant, data networking, LAN/WAN, voice and data architecture and data centers.
- Understanding of applicable design codes including NFPA, FGI, NEC, BICSI and EIA/TIA.
- Understand IT system integration with overall building design, including space planning and technology impacts, and an ability to blend technical solutions with business practices and personnel needs.
- Must be a critical thinker.
- Must be highly analytical.
- Must be able to work independently with no oversight or guidance.
- Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects.

About the Role
As a pivotal member of the House Rx team, you will work closely with specialty care clinics and the House Rx team to improve the specialty pharmacy experience for oncology patients and their caregivers. This is an onsite role at an office location in Pittsburgh, PA.
What You’ll Do
- Complete end to end prior authorizations for specialty medications
- Source financial assistance on behalf of patients
- Process pharmacy claims
- Coordinate medication dispensing and shipping
- Dispensing functions including medication ordering, labeling and ensuring proper verification is complete
- Improve the patient experience by answering questions and requests
- Act as a liaison between the patient, their provider and the pharmacist
About You
- You have mastered all the core pharmacy technician skills, such as processing claims and dispensing medications, and are ready to expand your career
- You are comfortable engaging with patients, providers, and all members of the care team both in-person and over the phone
- You have experience navigating specialty medication benefits investigation, prior authorization, and financial assistance
- You are excited about working in a start-up environment and helping to build workflows and processes from the ground up
- You enjoy learning new technologies and are proficient in some common pharmacy software systems (QS1, ComputerRx, PioneerRx, WAM, etc). Bonus points if you have worked in EMR systems (EPIC, Cerner, NextGen, etc) or specialty pharmacy systems (Therigy, Asembia1, ScriptMed, etc)
- You are familiar with specialty medications, including medications used in autoimmune, endocrinology, and oncology. Willingness to learn therapeutic areas you are not familiar with is great
- You are a creative problem solver interested in positively impacting each patient’s pharmacy experience
- You are an initiative taking individual contributor who can also promote teamwork and collaboration amongst colleagues
- Pharmacy technician, licensed practical nurse or similar licensure as may be required in the applicable state
- Technician registration or licensure in State of employment, national certification as CPhT is preferred

Expected Hourly Rate: $25/hr - $32/hr
This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary/wage. The actual base salary/wage will depend on several factors, including experience, knowledge, and skills. Actual compensation packages may include other elements equity, paid time off and benefits.
