Responsibilities

• Turnovers/make-readies
• Repairs such as drywall, painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or HVAC
• Commons work orders include unclogging drains, changing p-traps, replacing light fixtures, etc.
• Preventative maintenance
• Rotating on-call service for after-hours maintenance
• Other duties as identified to help Birgo improve lives through real estate

We’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Traveling Field Technician (Mechanic) that will be based out of our Pittsburg, PA rental facility servicing all of District 6-5. We’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, provide maintenance and repair for a variety of customer and company owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts and help us build the future of construction. Mechanics will have the opportunity to work on the newest fleet in the industry.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and offers overtime pay after working 40 hours. (This role is subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation provided)

Salary range: Factors including past experience and location may affect final compensation rate.

Tech I: $27-$33
Tech II: $30-$37
Tech III: $34-$41
Tech IV: $38-$47

Primary Responsibilities

As a Field Technician, you’ll use our tech to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track machine service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues faster by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models. With real-time information at your fingertips, you can determine the root cause and corrective action for each issue quickly, enabling you to work smarter, not harder.

• Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment

• Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment

• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed

• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis

• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts

• Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred)

• Field Mechanic: When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner

• Year-round company provided OEM training

• Other duties, assigned as needed

Skills & Qualifications 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Must own tools applicable to position

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools

• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred 

• Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle.

Who You Are:

You are a IT Support Technician who has demonstrated success in addressing problems and opportunities within growing organizations. You know how to identify, diagnose, and resolve systems issues, document processes and procedures, and serve end-users with a positive customer experience.

What you'll Do: 

• Work as part of the Service Desk team to deliver IT support to the end-users and operations groups within Blink Health.
• Support for all remote access technology which includes laptop computers (Windows and MacOS), Okta, Google Suite, software installations, and more.
• Provide exceptional end-user support for our MacOS and Windows environment. 
• Support mobile wireless devices such as iPhone and iPad devices.
• Perform desk moves, setups, and changes for desktop hardware and equipment.
• Track requests to completion with JIRA: capture user requests, resolve issues, and verify user satisfaction.
• Work proactively to prevent future problems by delivering end-user training, performing preventative maintenance and tracking inventory.
• Liaise with other technology groups including Pharmacy Operations, DevOps, Information Security, Software Development, and other departments.
• This role requires being onsite Monday-Friday during business hours.
• Participate in on-call rotation for remote support on Saturdays 9am-5pm ET or 1pm-9pm ET.
• May have to travel occasionally to provide IT support.

What You'll Need:

• 5+ years’ experience delivering end-user IT support services.
• Experience in supporting MacOS, Windows, Okta, Zoom, Slack, Google Suite, and Jira/Confluence.
• Experience managing desktops, laptops, within an enterprise onsite and remote environment.
• Experience with MDM applications like Jamf and Intune is a plus.
• Experience setting up and managing video conferences using Zoom.
• Experience with Amazon Connect and Zendesk is a plus.
• Experience with IT Asset tracking.
• Experience supporting a large user community of remote users.
• Documenting repeatable processes (SOPs) to assist other team members and contribute to the self-service portal.

As a Heavy Truck Diesel Mechanic, you will:

• Make sure equipment is well-maintained and safe for our customers.
• Use Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment diagnostic equipment to research and complete repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance repairs-like replacing or rotating tires and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a thorough and timely manner.
• Partner with the service manager to learn new skills using Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

What are the qualifications that we're looking for?

• 4+ years' experience with hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses
• 4+ years’ of MIG and stick welding experience
• 4+ years’ of automotive electrical experience
• 4+ years’ of diesel engine repair is preferred
• Must have own tools
• Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Class A or B CDL is a plus!
• Possess working mechanical knowledge, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance.
• Must pass a DOT physical including drug screening.

Reporting

This role will reporting into the Team Lead of Service Operations. 

Summary of Role

The Solar Field Service technician role is focused on upholding this promise to our customer, and will work with the Services team to ensure that system performance issues are resolved swiftly and professionally.

The Solar Field Service Technician is a utility player who can support Service, Installation, Job Closeout, Permitting/Inspection, etc.  They are the go-to person to help with ongoing Services needs throughout the 25+ year lifespan of a customer’s solar system, helping to build strong lifetime customer relationships.

Strategic & Tactical

• Provide onsite troubleshooting and repair of solar systems.
• Document visit and complete job close out report.
• Schedule site visits directly with the customer when required.
• Work with local field teams and central scheduling to optimize resolution times.
• Provide feedback to field team leadership, driving continuous improvement of Palmetto’s installation quality and execution.
• Assist with close out of pre-energization issues, ensuring customer projects are expertly executed and ready to generate power from Day 1 of permission to operate.
• Provide feedback to Palmetto’s Customer Experience team, working together to ensure Palmetto’s resolution of system issues provide not just satisfaction, but an experience they will brag about to their friends and family.
• Complete other tasks as needed, including but not limited to physical site surveys, inspections, and document collection.
• Be the key Palmetto field representative to deliver great quality, experience and performance of all Service and Installation work.
• Effectively communicate with homeowners on arrival times and confirmations on an as-needed basis.

Tactical Responsibilities

• Maintain SLAs for service work site visits
• Perform O&M work and monitoring support
• Perform site surveys/site visits
• Perform partner and internal field training
• Perform safety and quality site audits and JCO reviews and manage/site inspections
• Perform field installations including PV, storage, MPU or structural upgrade
• Perform damage and claims investigations

Qualifications

• Electrical License (only required in MA, a plus elsewhere)
• 3+ years of installing, repairing, and troubleshooting residential solar & storage systems.
• General knowledge of residential home maintenance and repair, ability to go the extra mile in remediating customer issues beyond the scope of solar system maintenance.
• General construction/framing experience is a plus.
• Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and able to work on your feet for long periods of time
• Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, rain, crawl spaces, etc.)
• Electrical experience is a plus.
• 1 year of working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs, and performing repetitive duties such as lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout the assigned workday.
• Ability to safely handle and maintain basic hand and power tools used for installation.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
