Summary: Seeking an experienced contractor with extensive expertise in scripting, server configuration, and infrastructure management to support and optimize the Department WIC data system and associated applications. This role involves daily technical support, troubleshooting, and enhancing system performance through strategic recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily development and technical support for the Department WIC data system and interfaces, including EBT system and other applications.
- Troubleshoot and provide solutions for daily processing and development issues.
- Maintain and submit documentation on system performance, including maintenance and process corrections.
- Identify and recommend operational efficiencies to enhance system performance.
- Conduct evaluations of new software or hardware and recommend technologies to support business processes.
- Analyze and document technical requirements for system fixes, modifications, and enhancements.
- Produce work plans for implementing infrastructure requirements for system platform improvements.
- Create scripts for system fixes, modifications, enhancements, interfaces, and integration processes.
- Conduct and document testing results for system modifications and enhancements.
- Produce documentation for system modifications and enhancements as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of ten years in scripting and infrastructure management using PowerShell, SQL, Python, and MS batch scripts.
- Ten years of experience in configuring Windows server installations and applying security best practices.
- Five years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IAC) using platforms such as Kubernetes, Helm, and Ansible.
- Five years with Microsoft SCCM or Intune and management of end-user workstations.
- Five years supporting Linux/BSD server installations.
- Five years of experience with Active Directory and group policies.
- Five years of experience supporting business applications in cloud-native architectures.
- Understanding of network protocols, topologies, VLANs, subnets, and route tables.

Role Overview
As a Platform Operations Engineer / Field Systems Engineer (Florida), you will serve as the primary owner of operations and product execution for statewide IoT deployments, driving the tools, workflows, and systems required to support reliable field operations. This role focuses on building and deploying the tools, interfaces, and integrations that enable seamless operation and maintenance of roadway infrastructure. You will bridge the gap between core software systems and field operations, ensuring contractors are equipped with automated workflows and actionable insights to meet strict SLAs and resolve issues efficiently.
This role will require regular on-site field work at roadside infrastructure deployments in Orlando, Florida, supporting real-time field operations and issue triage, with occasional travel across our other projects in Florida and Georgia, as needed.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Product Operation Ownership: Act as the Product Owner for Florida operations, focusing on streamlining field support workflows while partnering with Product Management on roadmap priorities
- Tool & UI Building: Design and develop custom scripts, dashboards, JavaScript-based user interfaces, and API integrations that connect the core platform to O&M contractor systems
- Edge Deployment: Package and deploy diagnostic tools and user interfaces directly to edge devices, enabling effective on-site troubleshooting
- Contractor Enablement: Enable field contractors by building automated alerting systems, intuitive operational tools, and delivering hands-on training
- First Line of Defense: Serve as the first line of defense for system issues, including triage, remote troubleshooting, configuration updates, and software resets
- Field Triage and Dispatch: Coordinate field interventions by equipping crews with precise, pre-diagnosed issue reports when physical resolution is required
- Operations Automation: Work within our core operational framework (Proxmox, Kubernetes, Terraform) to manage state-specific configurations. Partnering with our engineering organization, building the specific IaC, tools, and automation scripts
- Field Quality Oversight: Oversee operational readiness of new deployments, ensuring field hardware (e.g., cameras, switches) is fully integrated prior to go-live
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and field teams to continuously improve operational efficiency and system reliability
Requirements
- Experience supporting field operations and issue triage within roadway infrastructure, transportation systems, or similar large-scale physical deployments
- Experience working within Linux environments, container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes), and virtualization systems (e.g., Proxmox)
- Strong scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, and/or Go) combined with frontend experience (JavaScript) to build intuitive, lightweight user interfaces for field crews.
- Familiarity with deploying applications to edge devices and IoT hardware environments
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g., VLANs, routing, IP configuration) for troubleshooting connectivity issues
- Ability to translate complex system issues into clear, actionable workflows or tickets (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with both technical engineering teams and field-based personnel
- Highly self-directed, with the ability to operate independently while collaborating across distributed teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience with 4+ years in linux systems management)
Bonus
- Experience integrating monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) with third-party systems
- Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodologies, particularly in a Product Owner capacity

POSITION TITLE: Technical Instructor (Cybersecurity)

Position Description:
Per Scholas is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented individual to serve as a Cyber Security Instructor. The Technical Instructor will play an important role in our organization’s mission, as they train Per Scholas students to be outstanding entry and mid-level technicians.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Classroom Facilitation
- Using a structured and approved curriculum, conduct a full-time, 15-week cycle of technical training to prepare students for entry to mid-level jobs in the field of Cyber Security. Technical training competencies include but are not limited to: hardware, software, networking, security, server, mobility, virtualization, and project management. Class sizes range from 30-36 students.
- Facilitate in a highly interactive, hands-on style. The Per Scholas curriculum calls for a maximum of 1.5 hours of lecture in a 6-hour teaching day. The rest of the time is dedicated to interactive, hands-on lab activities which are led by the Technical Instructor.
- Utilize in-house Learning Management System for assignments, tests, and real-time performance monitoring
- Manage and appropriately utilize a teaching assistant
- Maintain regular office hours
Managing Student Performance
- Provide students with ongoing feedback, conferencing, and performance appraisals. Recognize any challenges early and work with coaches and students to overcome them.
- Coordinate closely with students’ career coach and learner support staff on enforcing program rules and promoting student success.
- Prepare student evaluations individually and in conjunction with a career coach.
- Participate in all required student progress meetings with other members of the team
- Monitor and enforce student class attendance, dress code, and other program policies
- Ensure classes achieve at least a 90% pass rate on all certification exams
Curriculum
- Provide input on tech curriculum and any changes needed to keep content current and relevant
- Provide input on labs, Learning Management systems, and program policies
- Conduct real-time student data entry in Salesforce.com

- At least two years of professional experience in the tech industry in a security role
- Ability to teach in a highly interactive and hands-on style
- Ability to commit to individual performance goals on certification and placement

Compensation
For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range of $65,000–$70,000, where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience.

As an Instructional Assistant (IA), you are the critical bridge between the Lead Instructor and the learners. You will support the delivery of a rigorous Data Engineering curriculum while ensuring student success through tutoring, grading, and classroom management.
Instructional Support & Tutoring
- Lab Facilitation: actively circulate (virtually or physically) during hands-on labs to help learners troubleshoot code in Python, SQL, and Linux environments.
- Targeted Tutoring: Lead instructor-approved study groups and provide one-on-one tutoring for learners struggling with specific concepts (e.g., ETL pipelines, DataFrames).
- Substitute Teaching: Be prepared to step in and lead a lesson, review session, or proctor an exam in the event of a short-term instructor absence.

Learner Management & Administration

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US
Education & Experience (Must meet one of the following)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

Technical Must-Haves

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) professional for manual testing of software. APIs. and Web pages. In this role, you will focus on building and managing Windows and Linux-based virtual environments for testing, ensuring efficient system performance. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing Hyper-V infrastructure.
The Quality Assurance Tester will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Manage and configure virtual environments within Hyper-V for QA testing purposes.
- Develop and maintain test environments, ensuring that they replicate real-world scenarios and are stable for testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the environment, applications, and performance in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Collaborate with QA teams to design, implement, and maintain test environments that simulate production systems.
- The role will be based in Orlando, FL and is an in-office position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with manual software testing, including testing of web applications and APIs.
- Knowledge of security testing principles and practices.
- Proficiency working across Mac, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with networking concepts and identity platforms such as Microsoft Entra, Azure, and Active Directory.
- Experience testing billing systems and invoicing workflows.
- Working knowledge of SQL and database testing.
- Experience with Hyper-V virtualization platforms and managing virtualized environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE
- You must learn the ThreatLocker products, features, and use cases.
- Proficiency in configuring and using ThreatLocker products.
- Stay updated on product updates and actively participate in training.
