We’re looking for a Frontend Engineer to help develop and scale the UI and frontend infrastructure of the Lightning AI platform. In this role, you’ll take ownership of key features and drive them end-to-end, working closely with engineering, product, and design to ship high-quality, iterative improvements. With over 10,000 organizations building with Lightning, you’ll have a unique opportunity to impact how the world builds and deploys AI to production.

This role is based in one of our hubs (Seattle, NYC, SF, or London), with a minimum of 2 in-office days per week and occasional team and company offsites. We are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this position at this time.

What You’ll Do

• Write readable/testable/efficient code in React and Redux, and build deep expertise in our technology stack to deliver new features, improve system stability, and increase overall performance.
• Partner with engineering and product leaders on developing the user interface and frontend infrastructure while using your experience to set the technical direction for large projects.
• Evaluate, strengthen, and document technical architecture, tools, and processes.

Basic Qualifications:

• Proficiency with JavaScript tooling (eg. Vite, Babel, pnpm, Webpack) and Node.js/GraphQL
• 2+ years of full-stack experience, including back-end languages (Go preferred) and SQL

The starting base salary for this role in New York is between $150,000-$230,000+ target equity + benefits. You will be part of a close-knit founding team.  This is a rare opportunity where you’ll get to help shape the tech and culture of our growing team.  You’ll work hand in hand with our CEO, CTO and 4-5 other engineers to work on everything from product to development to testing.  You should feel at home on the frontend and be able to find your way around backend code as required.  Ultimately, you’ll be expected to jump around the stack with a can-do attitude if necessary.

Your First 90 Days

… will be a whirlwind.  Largely unstructured, you’ll bounce between defining product workflows, coding it up, and furiously shipping to production.  The first 90 days will likely not see live customers using the product, so ship quickly, and break things!  But seriously, we will want to put in place impeccable testing practices for when we do go live circa month 6.
