As a Clinical Research Assistant, PRN you’ll play a key role in delivering life-changing research opportunities to participants but with the flexibility to work when and where it fits your life.
How You'll Make An Impact
In this event-based role, you’ll:
- Support participant care and event operations, including phlebotomy, specimen handling, and documentation (paper or electronic).
- Help set up and manage clinical research events to ensure they run smoothly, safely, and compliantly.
- Be part of a mobile, mission-driven team advancing the future of healthcare access.
This is not your traditional part-time job. It is flexible, purpose-driven work that fits your schedule. You’ll opt into local events through our scheduling system and log actual hours worked after each one. Whether you want to pick up one event a month or several a week, you’ll be helping make clinical research more accessible for everyone.
- Clinical & Participant Care: Perform venipuncture and capillary collections (as applicable) while maintaining aseptic technique and participant comfort. Handle and prepare biospecimens with care — labeling, processing, packaging, and transferring or shipping under proper chain-of-custody and temperature controls. Communicate clearly and promptly escalate any safety or quality concerns to onsite leadership.
- Study Operations & Data Management: Accurately document all procedures and results in approved systems (e-source, logs, etc.) according to ALCOA-C++ and ensure regulatory compliance (GxP, HIPAA). Follow established SOPs to help keep each event audit-ready and compliant.
- Participant Experience & Event Operations: Welcome participants and help guide them through event flow. Set up and break down event stations, prepare kits and supplies, and maintain a safe, organized, and professional workspace that reflects Care Access’ high standards.
- Site & Administrative Support: Assist with light administrative and inventory tasks that keep the event running smoothly, from restocking supplies to supporting team coordination.
The Expertise Required
- Clinical Expertise: Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen handling best practices, with strong attention to labeling, documentation, and chain-of-custody integrity.
- Participant Care: Clear, compassionate communication skills and professionalism when engaging with participants and community partners.
- Tech Readiness: Comfort using mobile apps and e-source tools for real-time logging and documentation.
- Dependability & Adaptability: Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented — able to thrive in dynamic event environments and work independently under event-day guidance.
- Mission Mindset (optional addition): Motivated by bringing clinical research to local communities and expanding access to the future of medicine.
Certifications/Licenses, Education, and Experience
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year performing phlebotomy and specimen handling activities.
- Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
- Active and unrestricted State Board of Nursing license in good standing
How We Work Together
- Location: This is an on-site position with less than 10% travel requirements. Occasional planned travel may be required as part of the role.

The expected salary range for this role is $19.00 - $44.00 USD per hour for full time team members.

Over the last three years, we’ve experienced tremendous growth and are looking for a Registered Nurse excited to help lead us into the future. As an RN in our new team, you will be the hub of our care team structure and model of care. You will collaborate with our PCPs, Medical Directors, Technology Team, partners, and of course our patients as we work to build a company that delivers the best quality geriatric care available. In addition to providing great care, and working in a dynamic team environment, you'll have the chance to influence the development of healthcare technologies that enable our unique model.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of Primary Care Providers (PCPs), Medical Directors, and Medical Assistants supporting a patient panel.
- Triage inbound communications, including calls, faxes, emails and instant messages from teammates, patients, and partners. You will aim for "one touch" call resolution, escalate to the PCPs when necessary, and route sub-clinical tasks to our Medical Assistants.
- Act as a support system and escalation point for LVNs/LPNs/MAs within the team, enhancing our team's efficiency and effectiveness.
- Engage in comprehensive chart preparation before patient appointments.
- Oversee post-appointment processes, including diagnostic orders, referrals, medication orders, and provide crucial patient education on care plan adjustments when needed.
- Participate in daily team huddles, offering guidance and fostering efficient teamwork in support of patients & partners.
- Conduct virtual patient assessments, developing personalized care plans and monitoring health outcomes.
- Promote patient health through education on preventive care and self-management strategies consistent with the patient’s care plan and wishes.
- Participate in crisis intervention and palliative care discussions, focusing on patient comfort and quality of life.
- Engage in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and contribute to research efforts aimed at enhancing geriatric care.
What We're Looking For:
- A current unrestricted RN license (preferably in AZ, CA and/or NV) with at least 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in geriatrics or related fields.
- Strong experience in remote roles, showcasing proficiency with technology and digital communication platforms.
- A track record of high accountability, exceptional communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with geriatric patients, particularly in settings like senior living communities or skilled nursing facilities.
- Familiarity with chronic care management and a solid understanding of geriatric-related diseases and treatments.
- A collaborative mindset, valuing the contributions of a multidisciplinary team and committed to improving patient outcomes.

Physical / Environment Requirements:
- This is a remote position that requires the employee to be available and actively working at their computer/workstation during all designated business hours and/assigned work schedule. This role cannot be performed intermittently or outside of the standard schedule due to the real-time nature of incoming patient calls and STAT tasks.

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team, meeting our stringent quality standards. Our ideal candidate is a vibrant individual with a passion for patient care, dedicated to ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for our patients. Exceptional communication skills are essential for success in our collaborative, fast-paced, and demanding work environment. This is a full-time position based in one of our clinics.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including JCAHO, HIPAA and OSHA
- Demonstrating clinical competency as an RN, including but not limited to: administering medications, setting up a sterile field, and sterilizing equipment
- Communicating effectively with other providers regarding daily clinical and surgical schedules to coordinate care
- Effectively documenting clinical and surgical chart notes appropriately and accurately
- Ensuring the highest level of patient care and patient service is provided at all times
- Consistently following policies and procedures to ensure positive patient outcomes
- Increasing physician’s overall patient retention by providing the highest quality patient care and patient experience
- Completing other projects and/or duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by Clinical Leadership Members
Required Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current ACLS certification
- Availability to work overtime/weekends as needed
- Prioritize patient care and patient experience
- Ability to succeed independently and as part of a team
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a plastic surgery office is a big plus!
- Ability to identify/solve problems and think outside of the box
- Multitask effectively and be highly responsive to patients & team members
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit or stand intermittently for the duration of a shift (8-12 hours)
- Push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds
