Guerrilla is looking for a Technical Cinematic Animator to join our Cinematics Team. In this role, you will act as the technical lynchpin between cinematic design, animation, and engine integration—ensuring cinematic content is delivered, assembled, and optimized within the Decima engine. OUR CINEMATICS TEAM

The Cinematics Team at Guerrilla is a multidisciplinary group dedicated to delivering compelling real-time scripted sequences. We collaborate closely with Narrative, Animation, Art, and Design teams to craft emotionally resonant, technically impressive cinematic experiences that complement our rich gameplay. With evolving pipelines and increasingly ambitious sequences, the Cinematics Team values strong technical partners who can help scale our tools and workflows for future projects.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Support cinematic content production by integrating animation data and cameras into the Decima engine. 
• Collaborate with cinematic animators, sequence designers, and narrative designers to ensure seamless handoff and technical viability. 
• Manage and integrate vendor deliveries, ensuring technical compliance, data integrity, and structured file organization. 
• Maintain and evolve our cinematics pipeline, supporting sequence reviews, shot structures, and in-engine playback fidelity. 
• Provide technical support for tools, data flow, and production tracking (via JIRA and Flow/Shotgrid). 
• Drive tools development and Python scripting to automate and optimize repetitive workflows within Maya and internal toolsets. 
• Liaise with Technical Animation, Rigging, and Engine teams to ensure sequences are implemented with performance and scalability in mind. 

WHO YOU ARE

• A technically-minded creative with a background in animation, cinematics, or technical art in game development or animation production. 
• Proficient in Maya, with hands-on experience working with animation, cameras, and assets for real-time game cinematics. 
• Comfortable writing and maintaining Python scripts for pipeline tools, automation, and batch processing. 
• Experienced with node-based, sequence-driven engines such Unreal Engine (Sequencer, Blueprints), or similar engines that support real-time cinematic implementation and logic. 
• Familiar with JIRA, Flow (Shotgrid) production tracking systems and workflows. 
• Able to troubleshoot cross-discipline issues spanning animation data, file structures, and asset dependencies. 
• Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to clearly document tools, processes, and handoff instructions. 

Plusses

• Previous experience in a vendor-facing or outsourcing integration role. 
• Familiarity with MotionBuilder or other mocap tools. 
• Experience supporting cinematic pipelines in film, TV, or real-time game development. 
• Understanding of cinematic composition, pacing, and storytelling, even if not your primary focus.

About the role

As a Solution Architect for GameDev Tools, you’ll act as a trusted technical advisor to game development studios using JetBrains tools, primarily Rider.

This is a senior, non-sales role focused on deep technical engagement, high-impact customer scenarios, and long-term relationships with professional studios. You’ll work at the intersection of real-world production environments and product development, helping teams adopt modern workflows and get the most out of their tooling.

What you’ll do

• Work closely with game development studios as a technical expert on Rider and GameDev workflows
• Investigate complex technical challenges beyond typical support scope, including performance, debugging, IDE integration, and workflow issues
• Validate advanced use cases such as large Unity and Unreal projects, custom engine setups, CI/build pipelines, and competitive evaluations
• Act as a bridge between studios and internal teams, including Growth, Sales, and product teams
• Provide actionable product feedback based on real-world production environments
• Design and deliver technical workshops, demos, training sessions, and sample projects
• Share insights, best practices, and competitive knowledge with internal teams
• Occasionally travel for key onsite engagements, workshops, or industry events

What we’re looking for

• Strong professional experience in game development using Unity, Unreal Engine, or in-house engines
• Background in AAA or large-scale production environments, with a solid understanding of studio structures and workflows
• Deep knowledge of the full game development lifecycle, from prototyping to live operations
• Experience working with large, long-lived codebases and complex runtime environments
• Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, profiling, and memory management
• Ability to work effectively with senior engineers, technical directors, and engineering leadership
• Established presence in the GameDev industry, with the ability to build long-term professional relationships
• Hands-on experience with JetBrains tools and the ability to demonstrate their value in real workflows
• Experience creating technical content such as demos, presentations, or workshops
• Strong customer focus and communication skills
• Fluency in English

Nice to have

• Experience in roles such as Solution Architect, Technical Consultant, Developer Advocate, or similar
• Deep knowledge of engine internals or performance-critical systems
• Experience with C++ and managed-to-native interoperability
• Familiarity with console development and platform-specific constraints
• Experience in large distributed or multi-studio environments
• Background in building developer tools, custom editors, or IDE plugins
• Public speaking experience at conferences or technical events
• Experience in adjacent fields such as simulation or virtual production
• Understanding of AI-assisted development and tools like JetBrains AI, GitHub Copilot, or similar
• Ability to clearly explain AI capabilities, limitations, and trade-offs
