Identify, assess, and prioritise security risks across our systems, products, and infrastructure - distinguishing between theoretical concerns and material threats to the business
Design and implement practical security controls across cloud platforms, applications, products, and data - and guide engineering teams in doing the same
Develop and apply threat models to surface architectural risks, trust boundary issues, and failure modes before they become incidents
Partner with engineering, product, and operational teams as a trusted security adviser - providing patterns, guidance, and guardrails rather than one-off approvals or blockers
Contribute to the detection, investigation, and containment of security incidents, and drive systemic improvements from what we learn
Reduce manual and reactive security work by building automation, improving tooling, and embedding secure-by-default practices into how we develop and operate systems
Bring technical depth to assurance activities such as audits, certifications, and customer security reviews - ensuring our controls are real and effective, not just documented
Have deep hands-on expertise in one or two security domains - such as application security, cloud security, identity and access management, cryptography, detection and response, or platform security - and can demonstrate genuine impact within them
Think in terms of trust boundaries, failure modes, blast radius, and adversarial behaviour rather than individual vulnerabilities in isolation
Can translate complex security risk into language that resonates with non-security stakeholders - engineers, product managers, and senior leadership alike - and influence outcomes without relying on authority
Approach security with a risk-based mindset, making proportionate, well-reasoned decisions under uncertainty and consistently asking whether the work you are doing reduces material risk rather than simply satisfying a compliance requirement
Have experience working across multiple teams and technical domains simultaneously, maintaining quality and judgement across contexts
Have a track record of identifying gaps and driving security improvements to resolution, including in ambiguous or loosely scoped problem spaces

Hands-on offensive security experience - red teaming, penetration testing, or adversarial simulation - that informs how you approach defensive design and threat modelling
Familiarity with security considerations specific to AI or machine learning systems, including model integrity, data pipeline security, or adversarial ML concepts
Experience designing or contributing to security programmes at scale - security champions networks, secure development lifecycle tooling, or organisation-wide risk frameworks
Background in cloud-native security engineering, particularly across AWS, GCP, or Azure, including infrastructure-as-code, container security, and cloud identity patterns
Exposure to supply chain security concerns, including dependency management, build pipeline integrity, or third-party component assurance
Experience operating in environments with classified data, government security frameworks, or cross-domain security requirements

Define high-impact test scenarios that go beyond standard coverage and reflect real-world usage
Establish observability, alerting, and feedback loops to continuously improve product quality
Collaborate closely with engineers and product teams to embed quality into every stage of development
Share expertise and support colleagues on best practices in testing, automation, and quality engineering
Several years of experience (typically 5+) in software quality engineering, with a strong focus on automation
Proven track record of building and scaling automated testing frameworks
Strong programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, C++, or similar)
Deep experience in backend and system-level testing, including Linux environments, containers, and cloud/distributed systems
A mindset of ownership and curiosity—you don’t just find bugs; you prevent them
Strong debugging and analytical skills, with the ability to understand complex system behavior
Experience defining QA strategies, test architecture, and quality metrics
Nice to have:
Experience with Playwright, Selenium, or similar for end-to-end testing
Background in performance or load testing
Experience working in environments using AI-assisted development tools

Microsoft estimates there are 7M+ monthly active .NET developers worldwide. Our tools – Rider, ReSharper, and various profilers – reach roughly half of them. These users are experts with strong habits and strong opinions. They know exactly how they want to work – which makes them one of the hardest audiences to design for, and one of the most rewarding. Your craft really matters here.
We’re looking for a product designer to own end-to-end experiences across the .NET ecosystem. You’ll partner with engineers and product managers who treat design as a strategic input, not a final polish step, and you’ll ship work that developers use every single day.
You’ll move across products rather than specializing in one, which means holding complexity in your head and making decisions that work across contexts. You’ll also coordinate with the broader IntelliJ Platform design team – JetBrains builds IDEs across dozens of languages, and ecosystem coherence matters.
The .NET ecosystem includes:
You’ll work on whatever needs design attention, which shifts based on priorities. Recent examples include: designing an overlay system that gives ReSharper its own identity inside Visual Studio without adding clutter, integrating AI assistance into GameDev workflows where context matters enormously, and making monitoring tools feel like part of the IDE rather than separate expert software.
Expect variety and sophisticated challenges.
You’ll join a small design team (currently 3 people, including the lead) embedded in the .NET ecosystem. We’re building out our practices – prioritization frameworks, intake systems, and research processes – so you’ll shape how we work, not just what we ship.
The broader .NET organization includes product managers, engineers, QA, researchers, marketing managers, and technical writers across multiple products. Design partners with all of them. Here’s the thing: The engineers building these tools are also .NET developers – they’re your users. You’ll sit alongside the people whose workflows you’re designing for. That’s one of the rarest feedback loops in product design, and it changes how you work.
To be clear about what this role isn’t:
Send your portfolio, CV, and a brief cover letter explaining why this role interests you. Role: Chief Technology Officer (Chief Technology Officer)
Company: Star / Trac
Location: Munich
About Star / Trac
For more than 25 years, we at star/trac have been enabling industrial companies to manage yard and site processes securely, efficiently, and transparently. Our focus is on complex plant environments in the chemical and steel industries, where smooth operations do not begin at the gate, but are prepared before arrival.
With our yard management platform flow, companies involve carriers and drivers in the processes at an early stage. Digital pre-registration and self-service options allow deliveries, pickups, and time slots to be coordinated and made transparent in advance.
On this basis, flow controls all processes in the yard centrally, transparently, and in real time. From arrival at the gate, weighing, and security to loading, unloading, and departure. flow combines operational processes, security requirements, and data into an integrated overall system. The result is significantly reduced throughput times, lower costs, and stable, secure operation even with high complexity.
Our customers, including numerous global players and world market leaders, value star/trac not only for its modern, scalable technology, but above all for its in-depth understanding of processes and many years of industry experience. Together with our customers, we create sustainable best-practice yards that permanently combine efficiency, transparency, and security.

We're building an AI copilot for web testing automation. It enables manual and automation QA engineers to turn their manual testing flows into production-ready automated E2E testing scripts, saving hours of manual work and coding. We are a small team with zero bureaucracy, focusing on real users. We optimize for shipping value - not hype.
You'll own the top of the funnel: outbound, qualification, and getting leads to sit down for a conversation. Demos, onboarding, and retention are staying with the founder for now.
Phase one: Get individual Automation QAs to try the product, aiming for fast adoption and no procurement. Once we hit 20+ weekly users, we’ll move on to phase two, where we’ll shift the focus to B2B – qualified meetings with QA Leads and Engineering Managers.
Your focus in the first three months:
This role expands as your strategies deliver results. Once the user pipeline works, you can take over demos and run B2B sales end to end. From there, the natural next step is Growth Lead (funnel optimization and scaling the playbook) or Account Executive (owning deal execution).
You should have a high level of agency and be quant-minded – you live in funnel metrics, run experiments, and are comfortable saying "no" to leads that are a bad fit.
