ABOUT THE JOB

Anduril – Rocket Motor Systems is seeking a Lead Scientist to join our organization. The Rocket Motor Systems business line designs, develops, and manufactures next-generation solid rocket motors for defense and space applications. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with numerous types of energetic materials and demonstrated expertise in one area of solid composite propellant manufacture and formulation. This role requires considerable knowledge of energetic materials chemistry, significant experience in rocket motor manufacturing, and demonstrated effectiveness as the principal investigator on internal research and development efforts.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Execute production rocket motor contracts as the program propellant chemist.
• Act as the principal investigator on at least one internal research and development effort.
• Provide technical guidance on explosives chemistry and manufacturing.
• Maintain databases and analyze technical data to ensure specification and regulatory compliance.
• Support implementation of innovative techniques and technologies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field plus two years of experience; or a master’s degree plus four years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree plus six years of experience.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience within the aerospace/defense industry, preferably in solid rocket motor production.
• Demonstrated expertise in some area of rocket motor manufacture, e.g., composite propellants, energetic materials, case/nozzle/insulation design, solid rocket motor manufacturing.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Secret Security Clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemistry with a concentration in energetic materials, polymer chemistry, or reactive materials.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience within the aerospace/defense industry, preferably in solid rocket motor production.
• Demonstrated experience formulating propellants at laboratory or production size.
• Active DOD Secret or Top-Secret security clearance.
• At least one publication or presentation within the defense industry in a relevant journal or at a relevant conference.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) has a manufacturing facility located in McHenry, MS, just north of the Gulfport/Biloxi metro area, approximately 45 minutes from the Gulf. The site houses dozens of buildings and includes facilities focused on research and development, case preparation, and solid rocket fuel manufacturing. RMS is made of multiple teams including Development Operations, Production Operations, Quality, Supply Chain & Warehouse, Manufacturing Engineering, Tool Engineering, Facilities, and Maintenance. This role would be located onsite as part of the Production Operations organization.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As 2^nd Shift Production Manager, you will support Anduril’s solid rocket motor business line by personally seeing to the Safety of the 2^nd shift team during inert and energetic production operations, coordinating shift handovers with the day shift managers, and collaborating with other groups such as Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and EH&S to set conditions for successful and efficient execution of scheduled work. You will also be responsible for developing subordinate leaders such as supervisors and/or leads, enforcing corporate policies and maintaining a standard of excellence with less oversight than a typical shift manager.

This position requires that you be comfortable working with and around potentially hazardous chemicals, can maintain exceptional attention to detail, and, above all else, have the courage to call a “Stop Work” if the situation calls for it. You will also be expected to quickly adapt to new challenges and taskings as a leader in a new and evolving business division.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 6+ years of manufacturing leadership experience. Extensive leadership experience in other domains will also factor in this decision. Experience in high-risk and/or high-danger professions is strongly preferred
• Basic familiarity with the major elements of DoD 4145 and AS9100
• Mechanical aptitude and experience working with hand-tools and standard industrial adhesives
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to adapt to new software utilizations quickly
• Experience evaluating data and information and packaging those inputs into polished presentations for senior and executive leaders
• Ability to work in a very fast-paced organization with minimal oversight
• High ownership mentality and willingness to tackle problems that may challenge you.
• Fit enough to deal with regular stair climbing, frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, turning, and standing for extended periods.

ABOUT THE TEAM

As a Chemical Manufacturing Technician, you will to support Anduril’s solid rocket motor research, development, and manufacturing efforts. This position will support national defense initiatives by performing operations related to mixing, casting, and assembly of energetic materials, hardware, and related products, as well as the destructive and non-destructive testing of energetic materials, inert materials, and rocket motors.

ABOUT THE JOB

Anduril – Rocket Motor Systems is seeking a Formulations Manager to join our organization. The Rocket Motor Systems group designs, develops, and manufactures next-generation solid rocket motors for defense and space applications at Anduril. The ideal candidate has both experience with energetic materials and solid composite propellant manufacture and formulation and previous technical functional management experience. This role requires in-depth knowledge of propellant chemistry/processing, robust experience in rocket motor testing, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of formulators.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead a team of 3-5 formulators in executing production, development, and research propellant programs and projects.
• Maintain compliance of acceptable explosive sensitivity limits for safe scaleup and manufacture of multiple solid propellant formulations.
• Manage group budget and properly allocate resources to ensure the success of critical contracts and efforts.
• Regularly create new processes and procedures from scratch and implement them across a rapidly-growing business line.
• Act in an approval role for business-critical functions such as:

About the Role:

On the Automation and Control Engineering (ACE) team, you will design, build, and operate the software that connects our automated factory, test facilities, and launch systems. ACE is responsible for the full stack—from the central platform down to the device-level software running on controllers and equipment—and your work will directly shape how Terran R is built, tested, and flown.

• * Own features end-to-end across the software development lifecycle: from problem framing and architecture through implementation, test, deployment, and operation
