The role

We're looking for a Sr. Manager, Talent for Engineering, Product, and Design to lead the recruiting function that builds the team behind our platform. This is a manager-of-managers role — you'll lead a team of Talent Partners and Coordinators, set the EPD hiring strategy with our engineering and product leaders, and own the function's outcomes. You will not carry a personal req load. Your job is to make every recruiter on your team great, every search predictable, and every hiring manager partnership tight.

You'll report directly to the VP Talent and partner closely with our CTO and our VPs of Engineering, Product, and Design to deliver against an EPD hiring plan that includes some of our most competitive senior technical roles.

What you'll do

• Lead the EPD talent team. Manage a team of Talent Partners (manager-track and IC) and partner closely with Talent Coordinators. Hire, coach, and level up the team. Run a development cadence that turns strong ICs into senior recruiters.
• Own the EPD hiring plan. Translate EPD's hiring goals into a sourcing strategy, capacity plan, and weekly pipeline. Allocate reqs across the team based on workload and skill. Reforecast when the plan changes — and it will.
• Run the operating cadence with EPD leadership. Stand up weekly pipeline reviews with engineering, product, and design leaders. Deliver clean dashboards on funnel health, time-to-fill, and offer acceptance rate. Surface bottlenecks early and own the fix.
• Drive interview quality and bar discipline. Own the structure and consistency of multi-stage technical loops — coding (CodeSignal), system design, take-home challenges, and exec panels. Calibrate interviewers, enforce scorecard discipline, run the debrief standard. When the bar slips, you call it.
• Build pipelines for the hardest roles. Partner with your team to develop talent maps across AI/ML, platform, infrastructure, and senior engineering leadership. You don't carry reqs, but you know every active candidate at the staff and principal level — and you step in to close when leverage is needed.
• Own your numbers. This team runs on data. You'll own team-level and function-level metrics: time-to-fill, offer acceptance rate, sourcing response rates, screen-to-onsite conversion, and recruiter productivity. You'll be measured on outcomes, not activity.

What you bring

• 8+ years in technical recruiting, with at least 3 years leading a team of recruiters at a high-growth SaaS or infrastructure company.
• Demonstrated track record of building EPD pipelines that close senior and staff-level engineers in competitive markets (SF, Toronto, Montreal are our primary markets).
• Operator's instincts. You can pull your own pipeline reports, design a capacity model, and forecast hires by quarter without a separate ops partner.
• Experience scaling structured interview processes — calibrated scorecards, debrief discipline, interviewer training.
• Comfort with modern ATS platforms (Ashby strongly preferred, Greenhouse / Lever acceptable).
• A strong preference for candidates who have led teams recruiting for AI/ML, platform engineering, or developer tools.
• A point of view on how to partner with senior engineering and product leaders without being subservient to them. You can push back when the bar slips.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Chief of Staff for our Managing Director of AI—someone who combines strategic vision in AI with hands-on execution and technological know-how. You'll be both a force-multiplier and a transformation architect: designing AI-enabled processes, building automated engines that run independently, leading organizational rollouts, and ensuring crisp execution across our AI solutions practice.

This role goes beyond traditional Chief of Staff responsibilities. You'll design processes that leverage AI, build repeatable systems that scale, and lead entire client transformations from discovery to sustained adoption. You have the potential to grow into leading organizational-level AI implementations as the practice expands.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Executive Leadership

• Partner with the Managing Director of AI and the executive team to translate priorities into sequenced plans, resourcing, and measurable outcomes
• Lead Human Agency's AI transformation methodology: define offerings, build repeatable frameworks, and establish best practices for AI-enabled workflows
• Design end-to-end processes that embed AI tools (LLMs, automation platforms, knowledge assistants) into client workflows and internal operations
• Translate complex AI capabilities into clear business cases, use cases, and implementation roadmaps for executive audiences
• Produce high-quality executive materials (briefings, roadmaps, decision memos) that drive alignment and decisions
• Identify where AI creates leverage across client engagements and surface strategic opportunities to leadership

AI Process Design & Automated Engines

• Design and build AI-powered systems that operate independently with minimal ongoing intervention—automated engines that scale beyond individual engagements
• Create repeatable processes for AI implementation: discovery frameworks, solution architectures, evaluation routines, and governance models
• Design prompts, playbooks, and knowledge bases optimized for reliability, consistency, and reusability across multiple clients
• Implement lightweight automation using no/low-code tools (Zapier, Make, Airtable) integrated with AI capabilities
• Establish monitoring and feedback loops that enable self-correcting, continuously improving systems
• Document patterns and best practices that can be deployed at scale

Client Service Delivery & Organizational Rollouts

• Own end-to-end delivery on multiple client engagements involving AI-enabled solutions (e.g., knowledge assistants, workflow automations, content summarization, research copilots), from discovery through launch and sustained adoption
• Lead company-wide and client-wide AI adoption initiatives—managing stakeholder alignment, training, governance, and measurement across entire organizations
• Run comprehensive discovery to surface use cases, success metrics, risks, change-management needs, and technical requirements; translate findings into scopes, timelines, and clear acceptance criteria
• Coordinate solution build-outs with internal teammates and external partners: data/connectivity needs, tool selection, integration planning, prompt engineering, and rollout choreography
• Design change-management approaches that address skill gaps, cultural resistance, workflow disruption, and organizational readiness
• Partner with client leadership to sequence rollout phases, manage dependencies, and demonstrate ROI

Quality, Governance & Evaluation

• Set lightweight evaluation routines: accuracy metrics, latency benchmarks, cost tracking, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement cycles
• Establish prompt/playbook management, basic safety/guardrail checks, and UAT plans
• Build governance frameworks that enable responsible, scalable AI adoption across organizations
• Implement monitoring systems that track performance, usage, and business impact

Stakeholder Management & Enablement

• Lead standing client check-ins, executive presentations, demo readiness, decision logs, and release notes, presenting succinct options and recommendations
• Create comprehensive enablement materials: user guides, FAQs, training programs, and governance playbooks that empower client teams to operate AI systems independently
• Build lasting client relationships through proactive communication, anticipation of needs, and consistent delivery quality
• Present to executive audiences with clarity and confidence, addressing concerns about accuracy, security, and adoption

Operations & Project Management

• Design and continuously improve the operating system for AI work: intake → triage → prioritization → delivery → QA → launch → measurement
• Manage staffing assignments and subcontractor contributions across concurrent workstreams; keep tools current (Asana/Notion, Google Workspace, Slack)
• Budget & scope control: track time against SOWs, flag changes early, manage vendors, and ensure on-budget delivery with clear documentation
• Establish shared dashboards for delivery health (timeline, risk, burn, dependency status) and run tight meeting cadences

Communications & Reporting

• Prepare agendas, briefings, and executive-ready presentations; synthesize complex information into actionable insights
• Provide clear, timely reporting to the Managing Director of AI and stakeholders on progress, risks, and decisions
• Contribute to Human Agency's AI thought leadership through documentation of best practices, case studies, and insights

Who You Are

Experience & Skills

• 5-7+ years in operations, client services, product/program/project management, strategic support, consulting, or transformation roles with direct ownership of client-facing delivery
• Demonstrated success leading multi-stakeholder projects and organizational change initiatives end-to-end (scope, timelines, budgets, risk, and change management)
• Deep AI fluency: hands-on experience implementing LLM-enabled solutions, prompt engineering, workflow automation, and knowledge management systems; can shape prompts/playbooks, evaluate quality, and choose appropriate tools or vendors
• Strong understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, when to use AI, how to design for reliability, and how to manage risks responsibly
• Proven ability to design repeatable processes and systems that scale beyond individual projects
• Experience with no/low-code automation platforms (e.g., Zapier/n8n), knowledge bases, and modern AI tooling
• High proficiency with Google Workspace, Asana/Notion, Slack, and comfort with modern web and content tools; experience preparing polished executive documents and presentations
• Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for non-technical audiences
• Bonus: Experience leading organizational-level technology rollouts, background in management consulting, familiarity with responsible AI considerations (privacy, data handling, consent, bias mitigation), or experience in AI/ML product development

The opportunity
The Total Rewards Partner serves as an advisor to senior leaders within one of Unity’s five business functions (Grow & AI, Engineering/Product, COO, G&A, or Sales & Marketing) and is a core member of the People “Trio” alongside Talent Strategy and Talent Acquisition. In this role, you will partner closely with senior functional leaders to design, implement, and deliver Unity’s compensation and headcount planning programs. What you'll be doing

• As part of the “Trio,” partner closely to ensure seamless communication and alignment while serving as the primary advisor to functional leaders on compensation and headcount planning, including guidance on pay programs and workforce investments.
• Participate in functional leadership meetings (staff, offsites, QBRs) as an embedded member of the Talent Leadership Trio
• Advise on compensation matters for hires, promotions, retention, reorganizations, and business transformations up to and including SVP, ensuring alignment to Unity’s philosophy and governance
• Interpret and apply job architecture, salary ranges, equity refresh frameworks, and recognition programs in a business-relevant way, leveraging centralized Compensation and Equity teams where deeper expertise is required
• Monitor market trends, pay practices, promotion velocity, and recognition patterns; surface risks and recommend course corrections to function and Total Rewards leadership
• Facilitate and administer compensation cycles and off-cycle programs, bringing business context to investment decisions and calibration discussions
• Provide structured feedback to centralized Compensation and Benefits teams on program effectiveness, edge cases, and evolving business needs
• Utilize the Compensation Analyst – Programs & Total Rewards Enablement for complex, project-based analyses and ensure efficient use of support resources

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional chief of staff role. At Human Agency, the chief of staff is the prototype for every person we hire. You're someone who wants to be running a company — a dynamic C-suite leader — but you're choosing to ride shotgun alongside an executive because you know it's the fastest path to getting there. What makes us different is that we actually give you that shot. Today. Not in three years.

You are floor to ceiling. You will take out the trash, sweep the floors, and then walk into the board meeting and run it. Nothing is beneath you. There is no ceiling above you. You are a garbage disposal for problems — every food scrap, every random piece of metal gets thrown your way, and you figure out how to handle it without breaking.

What You'll Do

Rather than being hired for a predetermined set of tasks, you will be brought on to solve complex, evolving challenges. Success in this role requires self-direction, proactive value creation, and the ability to thrive without constant oversight. Over the coming year, your responsibilities will be tailored to both organizational needs and your individual strengths, potentially including:

• Leading AI transformation projects with clients
• Leading fundraising efforts for funds or clients
• Managing investment funds
• Managing CEOs at client organizations
• Driving sales initiatives at Human Agency
• Partnering closely with recruiting to help grow our team
• Serving as CEO of a venture studio company
• Managing client project delivery
• Driving value through data and analytics for clients
• Leading go-to-market initiatives for clients
• Own and solve ambiguous, high-stakes problems that don't fit neatly into any department
• Manage yourself entirely — no hand-holding, no coaching, no check-ins about how your day is going
• Move between strategic work (board prep, investor materials, business development) and ground-level execution (scheduling, research, client fires) without blinking
• Deploy AI tools daily to amplify your output — you are not doing the work of one person, you are doing the work of five
• Identify opportunities, inefficiencies, and threats before anyone asks you to

Experience & Skills

• 5-7+ years in high-performing environments such as management consulting, venture capital/private equity, business development, or startup leadership positions
• Demonstrated success in taking ambiguous, complex initiatives and driving them to completion, you're the person who makes hard things happen
• Outstanding written and verbal communication; you can synthesize complex information into clear, actionable briefs for different audiences
• Bonus: Experience in high-growth startups, venture studios, or AI/tech companies

Considerations

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; top-tier programs and/or an advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
• Ethics: Commitment to ethical practices and responsible business operations
• Travel: Occasional (10–25%) for company offsites, key events, and leadership meetings
• Location: Remote-friendly with preference for candidates in major tech hubs and strong preference for overlap with EST business hours
