Why This Role Matters
As the Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the
integration of mechanical building system requirements for our nuclear fusion
demonstration system. You will work across several teams to develop the
building systems which enables us to achieve net facility gain. During
construction you will work with design consulting engineering and contractors to
ensure a quality installation which can be safely maintained. Following
construction, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and future
upgrades of the building systems.
This position is based in Albuquerque, NM and will require up to 50% travel to
our San Leandro, CA facility during the design and permitting process.
What You'll Do
- Develop facility mechanical equipment requirements and guidelines for
building systems including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and other
infrastructure systems. - Assist in the design and development of utility systems including
pneumatic, fluid, and vacuum systems. - Interface with engineers, scientists, and technicians to obtain facility
mechanical inputs. - Work with the Infrastructure Design Team to ensure building mechanical
systems are documented and designed appropriately for permitting
design, construction, commissioning, and operations. - Develop building systems commissioning, maintenance, and operations
plans.
What You Bring
- Minimum BS, Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 7+ years of experience working in design, construction, facility
operations, and commissioning for industrial, manufacturing, or
research facilities - Experience with HVAC, process piping, fire sprinkler, and plumbing
systems - Hands on experience with industrial, manufacturing, or research facility
commissioning and operations - Strong multidisciplinary program management skills and ability to work
diligently across cross functional teams - Proactive, doer, and self starter mindset

Impact in This Role
In this role, you will coordinate and monitor international shipments, ensuring smooth execution of both import and export operations. - Serve as the on-site technical quality contact for suppliers, driving process improvements in CNC machining, sheet metal, and welding

- Conduct on-site and remote (virtual) audits to ensure compliance with quality standards

El Ingeniero de Calidad (QE) es responsable de asegurar que los productos, procesos y sistemas cumplan con los estándares establecidos de calidad, seguridad y normatividad. Responsabilidades
- Desarrollar e implementar estándares de calidad, procedimientos de inspección y protocolos de prueba.
- Monitorear procesos productivos, realizar auditorías y ejecutar análisis de causa raíz (5 Whys, Ishikawa, FMEA).
- Analizar datos utilizando métodos estadísticos (SPC, estudios de capacidad) para identificar variaciones y mejorar procesos.
- Gestionar no conformidades, acciones correctivas y preventivas (CAPA) y calidad de proveedores.
- Colaborar con equipos de diseño, producción e ingeniería en lanzamientos de nuevos productos (NPI).
- Preparar documentación, liderar auditorías y dar soporte a requerimientos de clientes (PPAP, FAI).
- Mantener actualizada la documentación y contribuir activamente al Sistema de Gestión de Calidad (QMS).
Áreas Clave de Responsabilidad
- Resolución de no conformidades con clientes mediante reportes 8D y coaching a socios de manufactura.
- Impulsar la mejora continua en colaboración con Strategic Sourcing y socios de manufactura.

Job Description
The Quality Engineer (QE) is responsible for ensuring that products, processes, and systems meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role blends engineering principles with quality management to prevent defects, improve efficiency, and maintain compliance.
The QE focuses on both quality assurance (prevention) and quality control (detection), working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
As the Mexico Quality Team continues to grow, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership capabilities and position yourself for future advancement into a Quality leadership role.
You will report to the Quality Leader for Mexico.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality standards, inspection procedures, and testing protocols.
- Monitor production processes, conduct audits, and perform root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA).
- Analyze data using statistical methods (SPC, capability studies) to drive process improvements.
- Manage non-conformances, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and supplier quality.
- Collaborate with design, production, and engineering teams on new product introductions (NPI).
- Prepare documentation, host audits, and support customer requirements (PPAP, FAI).
- Maintain updated documentation and contribute to the Quality Management System (QMS).
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Resolve customer non-conformances using 8D reports and coach manufacturing partners on root cause analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with sourcing and manufacturing partners.
- Strengthen the quality management system to reduce defect rates and improve customer confidence.

About the Position
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager – Manufacturing to join our growing team in Santa Catarina, Mexico. In this role, you will lead cross-functional manufacturing programs supporting the delivery of high-quality custom mechanical parts for global customers. You will act as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong project leader with hands-on experience in CNC machining, injection molding, tooling, sheet metal, or related manufacturing environments who thrives in fast-paced, customer-focused settings.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end execution of manufacturing projects from kickoff through production and delivery
- Develop and manage detailed project plans aligned with customer requirements and company objectives
- Serve as the primary customer interface for project updates, scope clarification, and issue resolution
- Drive coordination between internal teams and external manufacturing partners
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement recovery plans when needed

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Tooling Design, or related technical field
- 3–5 years of experience in CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal, tooling, or OEM/contract manufacturing environments
- 2–3 years of experience in a project management role within manufacturing
- Experience in NPI/NPD and APQP within production environments
- Strong planning, scope management, and risk mitigation skills
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certification (or in progress)
- Experience working with global customers or multicultural teams
- Strong understanding of quality systems, sourcing, and supplier management

A New Paradigm For Space Operations.
Position Overview:
The Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in designing, building, and maturing prototypes for Space Kinetic’s core technology. You will support the team in refining the electrical architecture of the current prototype and driving the system closer to a flight-ready configuration with each iteration. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking concepts from schematic to hardware, solving complex electrical challenges, and working closely with mechanical and manufacturing teams to bring cutting-edge space hardware to life. We are exploring electrical engineering opportunities in New Mexico and welcome qualified candidates interested in supporting innovative aerospace programs to connect with us for potential future roles.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and build electrical prototypes for Space Kinetic’s core technology.
- Refine and finalize and the current prototype's electrical design to support all phases of prototype maturation.
- Undertake and complete circuit design tasks, generate detailed schematics, and perform component selection aligned with environmental and system requirements.
- Apply detailed tolerancing, design-for-manufacture principles, and thorough documentation across all electrical prototype phases.
- Support PCB layout design and coordinate with external vendors for fabrication and assembly of PCB components.

- A minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on electrical engineering experience, ideally involving prototype development.
- Experience designing three phase field-oriented controllers for bidirectional
motor drives. - Proficiency in circuit design, schematic creation, and component selection.
- Experience working with Schematic / PCB design tools (e.g., Altium).
- Demonstrated experience building and testing electrical systems or prototypes.

Why This Role Matters
The Rigging, Fixtures and Ground Support Equipment Engineer will design, analyze, and procure custom handling equipment for lifting, in factory movement and overland transportation of Pacific Fusion’s large custom hardware. You will utilize your expertise in heavy lifts, speciality rigging and in factory movement to create innovative designs to address unique installation and transportation challenges on rapid timelines across multiple locations. In this role you will work collaboratively with engineers, production employees, and scientists to optimize equipment designs across the company for safety, efficiency, and cost as we bring our demonstration system online. This role needs to be onsite at our Los Lunas, New Mexico facility.

These cost insights will directly inform corporate forecasting, pricing, contracting, and investment decisions as the company transitions from demonstration to commercial deployment.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Director of Product Cost Strategy and Forecasting will collaborate closely with the Director of FP&A, Cost Accounting Manager, and technical leaders across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain. The role requires exceptional cross-functional coordination and the ability to bridge technical, financial, and operational disciplines. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capability with a practical understanding of engineered systems and manufacturing economics to drive predictable, competitive, and continuously improving product costs across Kairos Power’s programs.
Responsibilities
Forecasting and Methodology
- In close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, support and coach the relevant technology teams and cost owners in the development of an enterprise-wide cost forecasting framework that integrates engineering, manufacturing, and financial data to inform planning, pricing, and contracting decisions
- Develop and maintain parameterized cost models across major domains—including salt, fuel, reactor hardware, construction, and shared infrastructure—ensuring transparency, traceability, and consistency in assumptions and data sources.
- Define and document cost estimation methodologies, inputs, and governance processes to ensure alignment with corporate forecasting and investor-facing financial models.
- Establish and manage a regular forecasting cadence synchronized with company planning cycles, enabling leadership to make data-driven investment, pricing, and contracting decisions.
- Work closely with Engineering and other technical cost owners to ensure assumptions are well-documented, realistic, and consistently applied across systems, serving as both a coach and partner in developing cost maturity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, and FP&A to ensure cost forecasts directly inform budgeting, scenario analysis, and long-range financial planning.
- Work with the Cost Accounting Manager to reconcile forecasts against actuals, perform root-cause variance analyses, and refine assumptions based on observed performance.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to identify and track cost drivers, anticipate future cost impacts, and inform design and sourcing decisions.
- Coordinate with the Strategy team and FP&A to align product cost models with corporate pro forma, techno-economic, and investor-facing analyses.
- Foster strong communication and data-sharing practices across disciplines to ensure a unified understanding of cost structure, risk, and opportunity.
Insights and Decision Support
- Develop learning-curve and scaling frameworks that quantify expected cost improvements across successive product generations and manufacturing expansions.
- Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to assess the impact of design changes, production scaling, introduction of new capabilities, and supply-chain dynamics on total cost.
- Analyze cost trends, anomalies, and one-time events to distinguish between structural and transient cost drivers.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to drive cost reduction, operational efficiency, and improved market competitiveness.
- Support internal pricing and contracting discussions by confirming that proposed pricing and commercial terms align with established cost targets and financial assumptions, and by quantifying impacts when they do not.
Reporting and Communication
- Develop and maintain reporting tools that clearly communicate cost forecasts, trends, and key drivers to executive leadership.
- Translate complex cost analyses into concise and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, summaries, and visualizations that convey cost performance, forecast accuracy, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure cost transparency in internal and customer-facing reporting, including support for cost-plus and open-book contracting frameworks.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, and Strategy to maintain consistent cost narratives across internal and external communications.
Team Leadership
- Build and lead a small team responsible for product cost forecasting and analysis, providing mentorship, structure, and technical direction.
- Foster a culture of rigor, transparency, and continuous improvement in cost modeling and forecast accuracy, aligned with the Kairos Power culture and mission.
- Establish clear development paths for team members as the cost forecasting function expands to support commercial deployment.
- Collaborate with leaders across Engineering, Finance, and Manufacturing to reinforce shared ownership of cost outcomes and cross-functional problem-solving.
- Encourage innovation in modeling methods, data integration, and visualization to enhance both accuracy and usability of cost information.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degrees in Engineering, Corporate Finance or related discipline required; advanced degree in Engineering or Corporate Finance preferred
- 10+ years of experience in cost forecasting, cost engineering, or manufacturing finance, including a minimum of five years in a leadership role
- Experience at a manufacturer or hardware developer within the past five years
- The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and managing cost forecasting systems for complex engineered products or large-scale manufacturing programs.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in developing detailed cost and financial models are essential.
- The role requires the ability to integrate technical, operational, and financial data to support decision-making, along with exceptional communication skills and experience presenting to executive stakeholders.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite or Oracle and advanced Excel modeling capability are expected.
- Candidates must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- An advanced degree in business administration, engineering, data science, economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Candidates with extensive experience leading progressively responsible roles in cost estimation, product cost management, or manufacturing economics will be strongly preferred, particularly those who have built or scaled cost forecasting functions in complex manufacturing or capital project environments.
- Experience in clean energy, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or other capital-intensive project environments is highly valuable.
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles, variance analysis, and open-book or cost-plus contracting models is preferred.
- Familiarity with learning-curve modeling, sensitivity analysis, and cost scaling methodologies is an advantage.
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as Python, Power BI, or Tableau is desirable.
- Candidates with demonstrated success leading cross-functional cost management initiatives and influencing decision-making in dynamic, fast-paced organizations will be especially well suited for this role.

The salary for this position is $209,400 to $261,800 for employees working onsite at our Alameda, CA headquarters. The range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate of candidates hired in California.
