Responsibilities:

•  Monitor and investigate suspicious transactions, merchants, and third-party activity daily.
• Dive deep into fraud patterns across our portfolio using BI tools – spot trends, think critically, and act fast.
• Partner with teams across the company and with external stakeholders to develop and implement top-tier fraud detection strategies.
• Build and enhance reports, tools, and processes to prevent fraud and chargebacks – your insights will directly influence our security.
• Communicate with merchants and partners to assess fraud risks and agree on next steps. You'll be a trusted go-to for SMB clients when it comes to compliance and fraud-related queries.
• Collaborate with card schemes like Visa and Mastercard on program breaches, appeals, investigations, and reporting.
• Stay on top of chargeback and fraud programs, ensuring compliance and proactive management of scheme requirements.
• Work hand-in-hand with the Risk team to identify and monitor high-risk merchants.
• Help shape the tools and workflows we use every day by challenging outdated processes and suggesting smarter, faster ways to work.
• Other ad hoc tasks can be assigned by the manager as needed.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience with BI tools such as Oracle BI, SAP, Qlik, Tableau, or SQL, or advanced Excel skills are a must.
• A degree in Banking & Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics, Economics, or similar, or hands-on experience in fraud/investigative roles within Payments or Banking.
• Card transactions, Acquiring background, highly advantageous.
• Big plus if you have direct experience supporting small-to-medium business (SMB) clients.
• Clear, confident communication in English (both spoken and written).
• Strong analytical mindset with great investigative instincts – you don’t stop until you get to the "why".
• Able to manage multiple priorities with focus and independence – you’re organized and driven. Able to work under minimal supervision / high degree of independence allocated, and have strong independent decision-making capabilities

• Create and maintain HR Process Ways of Working (handbooks, templates, checklists) to ensure consistency across all lifecycle activities. 
• Partner with HR Managers globally to ensure alignment on compliance requirements and process execution. 
• Work closely with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely transfer of data. 
• Act as operational escalation point for HR delivery issues and proactively resolve structural gaps. 
• Continuously improve service quality, using data insights, root-cause analysis and feedback loops to drive maturity and scale. 

What we are looking for:  

• 5–6 years’ experience within an HR Shared Services or HRIS-focused role. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
• Strong background in designing and implementing HR processes, frameworks and ways of working, including documentation, hand-offs and escalation paths. 
• Demonstrated experience managing and delivering exceptional HR services at scale across global, high-volume operations. 
• Hands-on experience with HRIS systems is a must, ideally using SAGE People.

We are looking for a Senior Information Security Engineer to join our Information Security Department at Betsson Group in Malta.

The Wow

Our Information Security team plays a critical role across four key pillars: Security Governance, Security Operations, Security Awareness, and Incident Response. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be a trusted technical authority within the team, primarily driving Security Operations while influencing governance, response strategies, and awareness initiatives. This role demands a proactive mindset, strong technical depth, and the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing

Security Operations (SECOPS)

• Lead vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and advanced security testing.

• Partner closely with the SOC team to identify, investigate, and mitigate threats, bringing senior-level insight into analysis and response.

• Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and processes to continuously enhance our security posture.

• Oversee the consistent application of our physical security policy across all Betsson properties.

• Manage supplier relationships and ensure the Malta offices’ physical security systems are maintained and optimized.

• Fine-tune and own key security tools and platforms, ensuring they operate at peak effectiveness.

Incident Response (CSIRT)

• Act as a senior escalation point during security incidents, leading forensic investigations and providing after-hours support when required.

• Develop and refine response playbooks, ensuring best practices are followed across the organization.

Security Governance (GRC)

• Provide technical expertise to governance teams during policy creation and updates.

• Participate in information security reviews, audits, and due diligence activities, representing the technical voice of the department.

Security Awareness Training (SAT)

• Contribute to the design and delivery of advanced security awareness programs, helping embed a security-first culture across Betsson.

What we’re looking for

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. A Master’s degree or higher-level qualifications are a strong advantage.

• Experience:

  • 5+ years in Information Security, with demonstrable experience in Security Operations and Incident Response.

  • 5+ years in broader IT or infrastructure roles.

  • Background in iGaming, telecommunications, or finance is a strong plus.

• Certifications: Security-focused certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP) are highly valued.

• Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of security tools, SIEMs, and forensic techniques.

  • Broad understanding of GRC principles and risk management frameworks.

  • Excellent communication skills, fluent English (spoken and written), and professional presence.

• Ability to influence and collaborate with technical and business teams at all levels.

Reporting line: This role reports to the Operational Security Manager.
