The Payroll Specialist Lead - China payroll is a critical role within Remote’s dynamic global payroll organization. Nestled within our EOR and Payroll Operations Team, this role is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant payroll operations within assigned countries while also contributing to the improvement and scalability of our global payroll processes.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders across Payroll Operations, Tax, Finance, Product and Customer Success, while coordinating with diverse payroll partners where applicable.
This role is well suited for a mid-to-senior career payroll ops professional who has deep hands-on experience running payroll in complex environments and is comfortable operating in globally distributed teams.

• Ensure the team’s accurate and timely delivery of general accounting and reporting, fixed assets, statutory accounting, direct and indirect tax activities (i.e. journal postings, GL maintenance, report preparation, reconciliations, tax submissions, etc.) in accordance with SLAs.
• Manage and coordinate the reconciliation of the respective systems. Review the closing reports (flash, actual, SOX) to ensure the reports are completed in accordance with Group Policies and Procedures (including WPP Policy Book, policies and procedures published in InsideWPP, etc)
• Provide RTR related advice and information to staff across the organisation as and when required.
• Regularly monitor and resolve outstanding issues that have been escalated, or further escalate to the necessary parties.
• Familiar with ICFR controls, update RCM (Risk Control Matrix) & communicate change to OpCo when required. Ensure processes are in compliance with ICFR
• Liaise & collaborate with internal/external stakeholders as and when necessary.
• Coordinate Service Review Meetings with OpCo’s and teams on a periodic basis

What you'll need:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, and professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/MIA etc.)
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in General Ledger operations
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience

• Experience in using ERP system • Native speaker / Korean : TOPIK 5/6 / Japanese : JLPT N2/N1

About the Role

JOB PURPOSE :
Ensure the organization’s compliance with direct tax regulations (corporate income tax, GST, through accurate reporting, timely filings, and proactive risk management. Provide technical expertise on compliance support on direct & indirect tax specialist matters to finance and business teams. Corporate tax work covers countries for Malaysia, Singapore & India and indirect tax for Singapore.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Prepare and review corporate income tax for 3 countries Malaysia , Singapore & India and GST returns for Singapore, ensuring all filings are accurate and submitted on time.
• Monitor changes in local tax laws and regulations in both Malaysia and Singapore& India; analyse impact and recommend actions.
• Coordinate with finance, external auditors, and tax authorities during audits, queries, and assessments.
• Support tax provision, tax computations, deferred tax calculations, and related financial statement disclosures.
• Conduct tax reconciliations, maintain required documentation, and ensure compliance with transfer pricing requirements.
• Provide compliance support on business transactions, new projects, and cross-border tax implications.

Since making the acquisition, Curlec by Razorpay has received an acquiring license by Bank Negara and is a registered member of Paynet. The Malaysia market presents a unique opportunity for Curlec by Razorpay due to its rapid digitalization and growing e-commerce ecosystem. Curlec aims to become the preferred payment partner for businesses across Malaysia, offering them the same level of reliability, security, and convenience that has made Razorpay a trusted name in India. consists of media specialists that perform a hybrid role cutting across the entire campaign lifecycle, namely end-to-end client engagement, strategic planning and campaign management.
About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated Associate to join the WPP Media Clients Team based out of Malaysia. As an Associate in this team, you should come with about 1-2 years of total work experience in the media industry, and fresh graduates are welcome.
You will be reporting to Associate Director in this role.
As the primary point of contact for your clients, you will manage their advertising needs end to end across all channels. This includes developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their
business goals, and translating these into effective advertising strategies. You will be required to oversee the entire campaign lifecycle, from initial strategy and planning to setup, execution, and ongoing optimization.
Your role is crucial in ensuring that campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or exceed client expectations. Through meticulous planning and continuous performance analysis, you will drive successful
outcomes and deliver exceptional value to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Relationship & Servicing:
• Client Champion: Communicate with clients, providing regular updates on campaign performance, industry trends, and new opportunities in a timely manner.
• Trusted Advisor: Maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients based on trust, transparency, and timely communication. Provide recommendations to help clients achieve their business goals.
• Strategic Insight: Develop an understanding of client businesses, target audiences, competitive landscapes, and industry trends.
2. Account Management:
• Goal-Oriented Planning: Collaborate with clients to define clear and measurable campaign objectives,
aligning advertising strategies with overall business goals.
• Cross-Channel Expertise: Develop comprehensive advertising strategies and media plans across all
relevant channels with the guidance of platform experts within your team.
• Campaign Management: Use WPP Media workflow management tool to capture and guide campaign requirements and allocate resources effectively across different channels for effective campaign delivery.
3. Implementation & Operations:
• Seamless Execution: Implementation of advertising campaigns across all channels, ensuring timely launch and accurate setup. Continuous learnings, new technologies/tools and media know-how.
• Budget Control: Manage campaign budgets and track spending meticulously to ensure optimal ROI.
• Team Collaboration: Leverage internal teams (e.g., creative, analytics) to ensure seamless campaign execution and alignment with client expectations.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimize campaign performance closely, using WPP Media and/or other relevant tools to track key metrics and identify areas for improvement.
• Billing and Reconciliation: Ensure client spends are reconciled post campaign and supporting documents are maintained. Liaising with Finance to ensure client billing and vendor invoicing are up to date.
4. Optimization & Reporting:
• Data-Driven Optimization: Regularly analyse data to uncover insights, adjust strategies, and implement changes that enhance campaign performance. Liaison with champions within your team to progressively improve the performance of your client campaigns.
• A/B Testing: Conduct A/B testing to identify the most effective campaign elements and optimize for conversions, engagement, and other key performance indicators.
• Insightful Reporting: Generate reports from WPP Media proprietary dashboard that clearly communicate campaign performance, insights, and recommendations to clients in a digestible and actionable format.
• Strategic Analysis: Analyse campaign data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, providing strategic recommendations to clients for future campaigns.
Skill Sets:
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Individuals with a ‘can-do’ attitude will thrive.
• Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
