We are looking for a Trading Systems Engineer, to join our Cumberland team. In this role you’ll have an opportunity to employ your extensive skills while helping solve complex technical problems. You’ll work closely with trading, infrastructure and software development teams to provide smooth support for our technology. We’ll ask you to communicate directly with counterparties, exchanges, traders and developers to iron out any problems that arise.
What you’ll be working on:
• Work as part of a team to establish best-in-class production support, efficient software deployment, configuration processes, and proactive monitoring, with a goal of anticipating and avoiding issues before they occur, minimizing downtime and quick recovery from any incidents.
• Maintaining the health and availability of a world class trading eco-system with a goal of minimizing downtime
• Responding to support requests from our traders and software engineers
• Liaising with external trading partners, such as financial exchanges and clearing firms, to resolve technical problem
• Collaborate with traders, DBAs, development, back office, QA, infrastructure, technical support, business development and various management teams around the globe to ensure continuity and consistency of support in a 24x7 environment
• Build documentation for common procedures, troubleshooting scenarios and system architecture
You will be right at home if you:
• Have 2+ years working in the financial industry
• Have a Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field
• Have exposure to VCS, particularly Git/Github
• Have demonstrated scripting abilities in Python and Bash
• Are comfortable with SQL
• Are comfortable with Linux and the command-line
• Have a service-oriented mindset
• Have experience with proprietary trading systems and troubleshooting production incidents resulting from internal (proprietary software / systems) or external factors (markets, data feeds, telecommunication lines)
• Are someone who thrives in high-pressure situations while working alongside traders, developers and other engineering teams
• Have experience developing proprietary process automation and monitoring tools to streamline software configuration and rollout procedures

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior Geotechnical Engineer to join BakerHicks, working within an award-winning team delivering across sectors including power distribution, rail, highways and defence. Based in our London office, this role offers the chance to lead and grow a new regional team, shaping our presence in the South.

We are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer operating at, or ready to step into, Associate level (line management level, not entry), with a strong background in engineering geology or geotechnical engineering within a design consultancy environment. You will be confident working autonomously from the outset, with the vision and drive to build and develop a high-performing team around you.
You will bring strong technical expertise across core ground engineering disciplines, including desk studies, ground investigation specification, technical reporting, ground modelling, earthworks and foundation design. Commercial awareness and the ability to win and secure work will also be key.
Our projects span the full breadth of the UK, from Shetland to Devon, offering exposure to a diverse range of ground conditions and engineering obstacles rather than being confined to a single geological setting.
Objectives
- Act as lead in our London office with a view to grow a new team in the southern region
- Act as technical lead and reviewer for geotechnical work across a range of project sizes in sectors including rail, power, defence, aviation, public sector and life sciences
- Manage the delivery of ground engineering design packages across multiple projects as part of single and multidisciplinary teams, from concept through to completion
- Contribute to the development and mentoring of junior staff
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Geology or Civil Engineering, with an MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering
- Chartered Member of an appropriate body such as the Geological Society, ICE or IMMM
- RoGEP at Specialist or Adviser level preferred
- Extensive experience at a senior level overseeing teams and projects
- Technically skilled across all aspects of ground engineering design and coordination - working within a design consultancy in the UK on UK based projects is key
- Extensive experience reviewing and approving key technical outputs including desk studies, ground investigations, ground models, mining risk assessments, Geotechnical Interpretive Reports, slope stability design, foundation design, retaining wall design, geotechnical design reports and earthworks specifications
- Experience delivering projects across relevant sectors
- Full understanding of assurance and sign off requirements
- Up to date with current standards and best practice
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction
- Extensive experience working within multidisciplinary design teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- IT skills, including geotechnical design software such as GEO5
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site work within the UK
- Eligible or already in posession of UK Security Clearance

The UK Value Engineering team is responsible for our largest Fortune500 customers and owns their transformation journey by working on the very frontier of what’s possible with data and AI. Partnering closely with the Sales team, Value Engineering is responsible for ensuring that the Celonis data & AI platform is deployed to tackle the most strategic business challenges, fits into the right place in our customers’ technology stack and most importantly generates strong ROI through deep and broad deployments.
The Role:
As a Senior Value Engineer you are spearheading our mission of data-driven business transformation with our customers by owning their end-to-end value journey. You are their trusted technology & business advisor, helping organisations achieve their strategic goals and realize significant value using the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform. A Value Engineer has full responsibility for the end-to-end value journey of our customers – landing, expanding, adopting and renewing. Responsibilities include translating customers’ objectives into value assessments or proof-of-value projects, helping organisations understand where Celonis fits into their IT landscape and AI strategy, building specific Celonis business cases and demos, running value workshops, and engaging with multiple senior stakeholders to deliver value driven results and secure long term partnership agreements. Your skillset combines a strong understanding of technology at both strategic and practical levels with consulting skills around strategic thinking and program management.
The work you’ll do:
Identify & Frame Value
- Discover and translate customers’ strategic priorities into high-impact Celonis use cases
- Advise organisations on how Celonis’ platform fits into their existing IT landscape and AI strategy
- Build demos and business cases, leveraging industry benchmarks and best practices in order to win new customers
- Use hands-on tech skills (SQL/Python) to build out (AI) prototypes to bring the Celonis platform to life for new audiences
- Communicate the value opportunity and strategic roadmap to C-Level executives.
Realize Value
- Facilitate business value workshops and use Celonis to identify and qualify opportunities for process enhancement
- Derive improvement measures in core business functions and initiate improvement actions and enterprise-wide change initiatives

Scale Value

The qualifications you need:
Data, Analytics, Applications & IT: Good knowledge of Business Software / SaaS applications (e.g. SAP), Hands-on SQL and/or Python skills, experience in collaborating with IT teams, experience developing dashboards and automations in tools like PowerBI or RPA, knowledge of and experience with AI-powered solutions.
Live for Customer Value: Experience in an analytical role with the objective to demonstrate or secure value through business data analysis, business process improvement and respective Software deployment. Ideally in a customer-facing role in Solution Consulting, Sales Engineering or IT/Management Consulting with a Business Software / SaaS Provider or a Consultancy. Alternatively in an Inhouse role (e.g. Center of Excellence for Data Mining / Analytics / Intelligence) within an Enterprise.
Process Improvement & Value Realization: Experience in identifying use cases for business process improvement and deploying improvement measures, being a change agent and training users/process owners to realize value
Project Management: Experience in planning and managing project scopes, expectations and timelines. You will manage multiple projects across your aligned accounts that will be at different parts of the value journey. Also, you will leverage partners from the Celonis Ecosystem wherever possible.

About the role
As a Senior Autonomy Engineer on the UK Engineering team, you will lead the design, development, and verification of high-performance autonomy solutions for the defense industry. You will write perception and planning algorithms, optimize performance, and develop robust system architectures. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will translate requirements into technical solutions while mentoring junior engineers. The role also involves continuous innovation, testing, debugging, documentation, while staying at the forefront of AI technology.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Prototype, evaluate, refine, and deploy state-of-the-art ML algorithms and solutions for defense use cases
- Leverage established products at Applied Intuition to build the software and infra foundation for behavior-specific ML development.
- Tightly collaborate with perception and planning engineers on many cross-team initiatives
- Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Train and mentor junior engineers as we grow the UK team, fostering a culture of learning and improvement

We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience developing autonomous vehicle solutions for aerospace and defense
- Experience with the end-to-end development cycle of deep learning models

- 5+ years of experience building production software using modern software practices
- Fluency in C++, or fluency in Python with intermediate experience in C++
