You’ll be the hands-on security engineer embedded with the Institutional Trading and Financial Operations (FinOps) team. Your focus is the secure operation of off-chain trading processes and infrastructure that empowers our institutional business: integrations, signing flows, key custody interfaces, middle-office workflows, order routing and settle pipelines that handle significant capital. You will support risk assessments, operating controls, automation to detect operational anomalies and remediation coordination. This is a high-visibility role where you will focus on operational security engineering - ensuring that the tools and processes our traders use are resilient against both external threats and internal errors. This role does not require smart-contract auditing.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Partner with Trading, Middle Office and Quant (Institutional FinOps) teams to map out inventory trading systems, data flows, third-party integrations and custody/settlement touchpoints.
• Conduct deep-dive assessments mapping critical assets and workflows to identify structural vulnerabilities. You will be responsible for defining the Target State and drafting the strategic Risk Treatment Plans (RTP) required to meet institutional-grade standards (e.g., CCSS, NIST, DORA).
• Act as the primary security liaison for Senior Management and third-party vendors. You will translate complex technical gaps into actionable business risk summaries, drive vendor evaluations for core security infrastructure, and manage the project lifecycle for high-impact posture uplifts.
• Implement and maintain monitoring for FinOps-specific security signals such as abnormal order patterns, signature misuse, unusual settlements. You will integrate these signals into our SIEM/SOAR for real-time response.
• Support secrets and key-management hygiene. You will ensure app/service keys are stored in KMS/Vault, scoped to least privilege and rotated automatically to prevent credential leakage.
• Assist product security in triage of SAST/SCA findings for FinOps-related repositories. You will help implement CI checks and remediation playbooks.
• Participate in incident exercises, post-incident reviews and remediation tracking for trading incidents.
• Document controls and produce concise risk summaries for FinOps leads and the Security.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• 5+ years in security engineering, platform security, or application security experience.
• Proven expertise in Threat Modeling. Ability to perform structured reviews (e.g., STRIDE) of complex data flows and operational processes.
• Experience with observability and detection tooling (SIEM, logs, metrics) and ability to write basic detection rules.
• Practical experience with KMS/HSM, secrets management platforms (Vault, 1Password, AWS/GCP KMS), IAM patterns and least-privilege.
• Exceptional ability to translate "Technical Debt" into Business Risk for C-suite stakeholders (CFO, CTO, Head of Trading).
• Ability to raise, read and audit Pull Requests in at least one language used in our stack (TypeScript, Java/Kotlin, Python).
• Experience conducting technical due diligence and scoping for third-party security integrations.

NICE TO HAVE

• Familiarity with trading systems or financial operations (market-making, execution, settlement) or close collaboration background with trading/quant teams.

Anthropic Fellows Program overview

The Anthropic Fellows Program is designed to foster AI research and engineering talent. We provide funding and mentorship to promising technical talent - regardless of previous experience.

Fellows will primarily use external infrastructure (e.g. open-source models, public APIs) to work on an empirical project aligned with our research priorities, with the goal of producing a public output (e.g. a paper submission). In one of our earlier cohorts, over 80% of fellows produced papers.

We run multiple cohorts of Fellows each year and review applications on a rolling basis. This application is for cohorts starting in July 2026 and beyond.

What to expect

• 4 months of full-time research 
• Direct mentorship from Anthropic researchers 
• Access to a shared workspace (in either Berkeley, California or London, UK)
• Connection to the broader AI safety and security research community

The interview process will include an initial application & reference check, technical assessments & interviews, and a research discussion.

Logistics

Logistics Requirements: To participate in the Fellows program, you must have work authorization in the US, UK, or Canada and be located in that country during the program.

Workspace Locations: We have designated shared workspaces in London and Berkeley where fellows will work from and mentors will visit. We are also open to remote fellows in the UK, US, or Canada. We will ask you about your availability to work from Berkeley or London (full- or part-time) during the program.

Visa Sponsorship: We are not currently able to sponsor visas for fellows. To participate in the Fellows program, you need to have or independently obtain full-time work authorization in the UK, the US, or Canada.

Program Duration: The program runs for 4 months, full-time. If you can't commit to the full duration, please still apply and note your constraints in the application. We review these requests on a case-by-case basis.

Please note: We do not guarantee that we will make any full-time offers to fellows. However, strong performance during the program may indicate that a Fellow would be a good fit for full-time roles at Anthropic. In previous cohorts, 25-50% of fellows received a full-time offer, and we’ve supported many more to go on to do great work on AI safety and security at other organizations.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. You will work with other software engineers to design and develop the full stack needed to enable a global trading operation with high availability requirements. You will be expected to design and develop integrations with data vendors, blockchain infrastructure, data management solutions, and libraries for managing and analyzing data. The team’s existing systems are written in Python and C++.

Candidates should have strong initiative and proven experience independently driving projects to completion. We work from high-level requirements and engineers are expected to gain an intimate understanding of the business and work directly with quantitative researchers on a daily basis.

• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain software and infrastructure needed for quantitative financial research

The role

Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) is an integral part of our Incident Response (IR) and Managed Services practices. As a CTI analyst you will be a critical part of our wider cyber team’s success.

You will work across the full intelligence cycle to help our clients respond and recover to security incidents, and stay ahead of evolving threats, including:

• Threat Actor Intelligence: You will track developments in the ransomware and cybercrime ecosystem, and write and update profiles on key threat actors of interest which will be shared with clients to inform case strategy and externally as thought leadership
• Threat Actor Engagement: You will monitor leak sites and negotiation portals across our global IR cases, and inform case leads of regular developments. You will assist with researching and drafting attestations on sanctions exposure for given threat actors
• Dark Web Monitoring: You will use threat intelligence platforms and specialist tools to conduct targeted research the dark web and set up and deliver regular monitoring engagements. You will assist with renewals of these cases
• Technical IOC Management: You will help collate technical indicators of compromise (IOCs) from across our global IR team, ensure these are enriched and correctly classified, and facilitate dissemination across the organisation to improve the operational effectiveness of our IR and Managed Services teams
• Incident Data Collection and Analysis: You will help ensure that incident data collected by our global IR team from our engagements is accurate and consistent. You will assist with the management of this dataset, and with analysis to produce regular reporting on trends and insights to use for presentations, events and training sessions

Key Responsibilities

• Track industry trends, company performance, investment activity, and emerging technologies across the FinTech landscape
• Leverage in-depth research and analysis of FinTech, blockchain, and crypto sectors to drive deal sourcing and procurement

It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and each compensation decision is dependent on each individual case. A reasonable base salary range estimate for this position is $155,000 to $200,000. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a bias toward automation over manual workflows.

⭐ Our Treasury team

We are seeking a high-impact, technically-minded Treasury FX Manager (UK) to lead the evolution of Monzo’s global FX strategy. This is not a traditional “click-and-trade” role; you will be the architectural bridge between Treasury, Data, Product and Engineering squads, building a highly scalable, automated execution environment.

You will oversee  Treasury FX risk management and hedging strategies - including the in-housing of FX risks to unlock new revenue streams. As we scale, you will design a global multi-entity FX framework and drive efficient internal risk aggregation. Additionally, you will support the broader Treasury Markets squad with core structural hedging and liquidity investment management.

🔑 You’ll play a key role by…

• Designing and implementing an automated execution environment to optimise netting and minimise hedging costs
• Developing and maintaining relationships with external liquidity providers  to drive efficient pricing and optimal liquidity
• Architecting data-driven FX hedging strategies in partnership with Data, Product and Engineering to unlock new revenue streams
• Taking ownership of the FX execution framework, proposing enhancements to policies, controls and systems
• Expanding Monzo’s global currency footprint, leading Treasury readiness for new markets and ensuring robust risk controls within a global multi-entity FX framework
• Optimising capital efficiency by managing FX exposure against internal limit while supporting FX product growth
• Partnering directly with Product squad on new FX product launches, and collaborating with Engineering and Data squads to enhance core internal FX capabilities
• Collaborating with stakeholders across finance, second & third line defence to ensure safe and scalable growth

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if you have…

• Demonstrable experience in a high paced, high-flow FX environment (whether at a bank, asset manager, broker or payment company), covering a broad range of currencies
• Proven proficiency in executing and managing live exposure across spot, forwards, swaps, and NDFs
• A future-focused mindset, with a strong interest in (or direct experience with) how blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT) are transforming traditional FX settlement and processes
• Analytical rigour and forward thinking approach, including familiarity with large data analysis and proficiency in a coding language such as Python or SQL 
• Strategic communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate technical Treasury topics for Product and Engineering stakeholders
• A proactive and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving within a rapidly scaling, multi-entity environment
• An open and collaborative communication style, thriving in a cross-functional squad model
• A relevant professional qualification (CFA is preferred)
