About the Role

Seeking an exceptional Laboratory Lead with 5+ years of experience to lead set-up, commissioning, and routine Laboratory operations to ensure Tupande processing is high-quality and food safe. The Lab Manager is responsible for ensuring the lab produces accurate results, remains legally compliant and operates efficiently to support factory production.

Responsibilities

Quality & Compliance

• ISO 17025 Lead: Build and maintain the quality systems to keep the lab internationally accredited.
• Audit Expert: Main point of contact for regulators (KENAS, NEMA, DOSHS). You fix system gaps before external inspectors find them.
• Accuracy Checks: Compare lab results with global benchmarks (Proficiency Testing) to prove data reliability.
• Document Master: Keep all manuals and testing methods (SOPs) updated according to International Standards.

Technical Leadership

• Method Expert: Approve all testing methods (Chemical/Microbiological) and create new ones for new products.
• Equipment Care: Manage the setup and maintenance of high-tech lab tools.
• Final Approval: Act as the final technical "sign-off" on all test certificates before products go from the factory.
• Problem Solver: Investigate failed tests to find out if the lab made a mistake or if there is a real issue in production.

Operations & Safety

• Expansion & Setup: Lead the technical side of building or growing lab facilities (plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
• Budgeting: Manage costs for chemicals and equipment maintenance.
• Safety & Waste: Enforce strict safety rules (PPE/Spills) and ensure hazardous waste is disposed of legally.

Seeking a risk and controls professional with 3-5+ year experience to lead internal controls design as well as managing health and safety for Tupande factories in Kenya.

Responsibilities

Food Safety & Product Integrity

• Build the Standards: Help set up and run food safety systems (like HACCP, FSSC 22000, and GlobalG.A.P.) and create tracking metrics (KPIs) for them.
• Inspect Operations: Regularly check the factory to make sure it meets safety and legal rules. This includes:
• Running swab tests, chemical checks, and moisture tests to double-check the factory lab's accuracy.
• Testing the recall system unexpectedly to prove the team can track any product from farm to bag in under 4 hours.
• Doing surprise checks on cleaning, allergen controls, and germ prevention.
• Fix Issues: Investigate food safety problems, figure out what went wrong, and help the factory team fix it.

 Workplace Safety (OSHA)

• Assess Hazards: Check processing machinery to make sure physical safety guards and emergency shut-offs work properly.
• Manage High-Risk Areas: Enforce rules for safe stacking heights and fall protection.
• Protect Visitors: Ensure all guests and contractors get safety briefings, wear the right gear (PPE), and sign liability waivers.
• Audit & Train: Walk through the plant to spot safety issues, train staff, and work with teams to fix any problems.

Sourcing & Supply Chain Quality

• Set Up Early Checks: Make sure field officers test crops for moisture, maturity, and dirt before they leave the collection centers.
• Calibrate Scales: Test and adjust field scales regularly to prevent financial losses from incorrect weighing or fraud.
• Reconcile Inventory: Match the amount of product bought in the field with the amount that actually arrives at the factory.
• Check Transport: Inspect trucks and crates to make sure they are clean and free of pests before moving food.

Financial Controls

• Protect Assets: Create and run control systems to protect company property at all factories.
• Enforce Rules: Monitor operations to make sure everyone is following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Stop Losses: Investigate missing inventory or financial issues, find the root cause, and follow up with managers to fix them permanently.

About the Role

This role supports the execution of the loan compliance and reporting function, the department’s operations, lender due diligence, and one-off analytical projects.

Responsibilities

Support the Execution of loan compliance and reporting function

• Draft reports required by lenders (e.g. annual questionnaires, quarterly financial reports, ad hoc requests) with oversight of the Investor Relation Specialist for review by the relationship managers
• Work with payments team to ensure we make interest payments on time
• Support reconciliations related to IR’s work (debt, refundable advances, FX hedging) while working with accounting team on the quarterly close process
• Draft the quarterly financial health dashboard to allow senior IR team members to report on the health of the balance sheet to the Finance Committee

Support Investor Relations team operations

• Support processes and systems used by the IR team (Loan tracker, Salesforce, RiskScreen). Enter information to make sure that they are up to date.
• Retain loan documents as required by document retention policies. Keep the IR folder organized so that the IR team works efficiently
• Provide administrative support when signing new retail notes and loans

Lender relationship management and Due Diligence

• Assist on due diligence analyses and proposals as requested by relationship managers, under the supervision of the Investor Relations specialist. Work may include preparation of spreadsheets, prep of written summaries of One Acre Fund’s operations, finding requested information by working with other teams and leveraging existing resources.

About the Role

The Global Data Analyst Intern will use large, diverse, cross-country datasets to build foundational data products that enable better decision-making across the organization. This role will focus on creating high-quality dashboards and reports that are trusted, scalable, and widely used — in service of our mission: bigger harvests, healthier families, and richer soil for smallholder farmers.

Responsibilities

Build Foundational BI Data Products

• Design, build, and maintain high-impact operational reports (to run day-to-day work) and dashboards (for oversight/KPI purposes), to enable analytics across functions.
• Ensure dashboards and reports are accurate, well-documented, and built for long-term sustainability.
• Monitor adoption and continuously improve usability and relevance. This role is less focused on one-off data projects and more focused on building durable tools that people consistently use and trust.

Managing Tech Service Desk Day-to-Day Operations:

• Oversee the daily operations of the tech service desk, ensuring high-quality service and efficient problem resolution.
• Ensure timely escalation and resolution of issues, acting as the first point of contact for critical service desk matters.
• Manage service desk workflows, track performance, and ensure proper follow-up on all service requests.

Own department Analytical Domains and Partner with Data Engineering

• Serve as the primary analyst for the department.
• Deeply understand business processes and logic within the department.
• Own the full delivery of dashboards and data analytics products: make prioritization decisions, understand user needs, wireframe and design outputs, and own delivery and iteration.

About the Role

Tupande Procurement Senior Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient execution of procurement projects by closely aligning with business units (BUs) needs, controlling spend, and improving procurement processes. This role involves managing the full procurement lifecycle for assigned BU procurement  projects, supporting supplier and stakeholder relationships, driving process improvements, and maintaining strict contract management and compliance. The coordinator also provides performance tracking and reporting to facilitate strategic decision-making and continuous enhancement of procurement activities.

Responsibilities

High quality procurement project coordination and execution

• Manages full procurement lifecycle for operational needs including documentation and PO processing within approved strategies and policies, for assigned BU projects.
• Support procurement project implementation  with minimal support from Tupande Procurement Specialist.
• Develop, own and maintain procurement project tracking tools such as sourcing plans and risk registers.
• Ensure alignment with established project timelines, promptly escalate risks, or delays in a timely manner.
• Provide analysis and market research that informs strategies owned by Specialists/Category Leads.

Supplier and stakeholder engagement 

• Effectively manage relationships with suppliers to support operations and contract compliance, while adapting approaches as needed to meet evolving business and procurement priorities.
• Use appropriate supplier relationship strategy based on the nature of BU requirements.
• Coordinate closely with assigned Business Units to clarify requirements, timelines, and proactively resolve arising issues early.
• Act as the coordination link between Procurement and BUs to ensure BU input is included in category work led by Specialists/Category Leads.
• Assess BU requirements and align PR pipelines with sourcing calendars
• Collaborate with BUs to reduce maverick spend and stabilize spend control

Targeted process and performance  improvement

• Support cross-functional improvement initiatives by helping develop templates, SOPs, and training materials.
• Coordinate periodic reviews with assigned  Business Units to clear aged Procurement Requests (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs).
• Perform root causes analysis to identify bottlenecks and improve PR to PO turnaround time.
• Identify capability gaps and propose practical, incremental improvements to strengthen processes and team performance.
• Facilitate effective collaboration between BU and PRO teams to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
• Promote proactive communication between BU units and PRO to support timely planning, coordination, and issue resolution.

Strategic sourcing responsibilities

• Define the scope and profile of assigned procurement categories.
• Conduct comprehensive spend analysis, market analysis, and profile demand/supply markets to identify opportunities.
• Develop strategic sourcing strategies, setting clear objectives for cost savings, quality improvement, risk mitigation, and determining appropriate tactics.
• Identify, evaluate, and pre-qualify potential suppliers based on strategic needs.
• Lead RFx processes, including negotiation of pricing, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), payment terms, delivery windows, and change management processes, while integrating selected suppliers into planning systems.
• Finalize and execute contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are clearly defined and favorable.
• Monitor supplier performance against contract terms, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and hold regular business review meetings to ensure costs are consistently driven down.

Reporting and documentation

• Prepare routine reports and dashboards on procurement project progress, highlighting status updates, risks, and key actions for timely decision-making.
• Support data collection and analysis, including responding to ad-hoc market research requests that inform sourcing decisions and category strategies.
• Capture and document supplier performance data to help drive improvements in service levels, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Analyse cost drivers by Business Unit, identifying short-, medium-, and long-term trends to support planning and spend management.
• Work with other BU coordinators to promote standardization and consolidation of requirements, helping reduce duplication and improve sourcing efficiency across BUs.
• Monitor KPI performance for assigned procurement projects and follow up on corrective actions when targets are not met.
• Maintain clear, organized, and audit-ready documentation for all procurement transactions to support compliance and transparency.

Role 1: Global Purchasing Data Senior Supervisor

Focus: Payment Cycles & Procurement Analytics

• End-to-End Payment Processing: Manage payment requests for global and in-country teams, ensuring 100% timely processing within set SLAs.

About the Role

From R&D to sales to strategy to operations, the Global R&D Data Analyst has the unique opportunity to improve decision-making across all aspects of One Acre Fund’s program using many diverse data types, such as sales, yield, demographic and satellite data, to help us reach more farmers with greater impact. 

The Global R&D Data Analyst will help us reach over one million farmers by executing analyses for strategic decision-making on repayment, expansion, and other business functions, and work directly with program leaders to interpret results and make data-driven decisions. The Global R&D Data Analyst will play an integral role in shaping One Acre Fund’s data strategy, including dreaming up and executing new ways to use our data to improve our program.

Additionally, One Acre Fund has a robust agronomic and socioeconomic research program spanning all countries of operation. This role will work closely with country R&D teams to ensure all trials are executed at the highest possible standards, provide follow-up analytical support and training to team members, and support with warehousing of our agronomic data to make our research outputs accessible to external collaborators, further increasing One Acre Fund’s smallholder farmer impact across the continent.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strong communicator and have a solid analytical background with experience in experimental design. You will need to be comfortable interpreting ambiguous results generated with imperfect data and advising leaders on the relative risk associated with different decisions based on the results of your analysis. 

This is a deliberately hybrid role. Success requires the ability to operate effectively as:

• an experimental methodologist (trial design & causal inference),
• an applied data scientist (production analytics, geospatial methods, modelling), and
• a delivery-oriented project manager (prioritisation, documentation, coordination).

Responsibilities

Own methodological rigour and analytical quality for trials and surveys (30%):

• Design and analyse trials and surveys, including:
  • Sample size and power calculations
  • Stratification and experimental design
  • Recommend the appropriate statistical methods (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, ANOVA/mixed models)
• Lead analysis of agronomic and product trials to estimate treatment effects and program impact
• Quality assure trial designs and analyses produced by other analysts
• Translate trial findings into clear recommendations for product design, agronomic guidance, and program strategy.

Develop scalable analytical products and decision-support tools using program, survey, and spatial data (30%):

• Build, maintain, and improve analytical pipelines and production codebases that power operational decision tools (e.g., sowing date or input recommendations), including occasional support at the production level.
• Integrate survey, MEL, and operational data with geospatial layers (soil, climate, vegetation, remote sensing) to generate localised recommendations and program targeting strategies.
• Conduct spatial and remote-sensing analyses for program design, prioritisation, and impact estimation (e.g., soil erosion modelling, site suitability analysis).
• Analyse historical trial and soil data to generate input and soil management recommendations (e.g., lime application, fertiliser rate application).
• Evaluate potential impact of alternative interventions and support pilot design, iteration, and scale decisions.
• Translate analyses into decision-ready outputs (briefs, dashboards, and memos) for non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify new, high-leverage analytical use cases that improve program reach, impact, or cost-effectiveness.

Lead impact data management and project management (~20%)

• Lead curation and standardisation of historical yield, agronomic practice, and trial datasets to enable reuse and external research collaboration.
• Own knowledge management for impact data and trials, including:
  • Central documentation of methodologies, assumptions, sample sizes, and results for all projects
  • Reusable analysis templates and reference implementations
• Manage external data requests in compliance with client data protection and confidentiality protocols.

Provide portfolio-level project management (~20%):

• Maintain project plans, priorities, and timelines
• Track dependencies and risks
• Coordinate with program and R&D stakeholders to identify potential delivery risks
• Establish durable documentation and planning systems (e.g., project roadmaps, project trackers, shared repositories).

About the Role

The Boiler Operator is responsible for the continuous operation and maintenance of boiler systems that generate steam/ hot water essential for macadamia processing. This role ensures peak operational efficiency, strict safety compliance, and minimal downtime through proactive troubleshooting and multi-disciplinary maintenance.

Responsibilities

Appointed as a food safety team member

• Participate in food safety management system (FSMS) meetings.
• Participate in food safety audits.
• Training the support staff on food safety-related attributes, such as ensuring food safety during machine repairs and maintenance.

• Contribute towards the continuous improvement of the factory processes and systems.

Boiler, Steam & Hot Water  Management

• Maintenance & Repair: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on complex steam, water, and compressed air systems.

Safety Compliance 

• Compliance: Adhere strictly to all SHEQ requirements and NITA-mandated safety standards.

About the Role

Looking for a Roasting Officer to lead end-to-end roasted macadamia production, supervise the roasting team, ensure quality and food safety standards, meet order timelines, and drive process improvements and efficiency.

Responsibilities

End-to-End Roasted Production Management

• Liaise closely with Sales to understand order volumes, timelines, and urgency.
• Manage the full roasted macadamia process: receiving of raw materials, roasting, sorting, cooling, flavoring, packaging, and dispatch

About the Role

We believe that new technology is critical to building the most effective rural distribution network on the African continent. Today, we reach over 1.6 million farm families and we aspire to serve more than 10 million households in the coming decade. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will lead the development of our technology, focusing on a mobile tech transformation: providing our field staff with the mobile-based tools to reach more farmers; developing scalable, direct communication channels with farmers to improve customer service; and digitizing and decentralizing data collection tools to speed up data flows and improve efficiency.

We are looking for someone with the technical experience to bring this vision to life; the Director of Engineering will transform our technology into a core organizational strength, working through several development teams that cross our tech stack

Responsibilities

• Own the tech stack and overall architecture and strategic direction: You will guide our team to work toward a common vision of our tech stack, ensuring a robust solution across all of our technical needs whether back-office, client-facing, or business intelligence needs.
• Lead efficient delivery of impactful software products: Provide detailed, hands-on guidance for tech projects based on an intimate understanding of our clients and internal users. Maintain a robust and well-documented architecture, balancing elegant design with practical requirements across our functional needs.
• Leverage Talent into an Agile Center of Excellence: Support a talented team to work at their best - support Agile processes that go beyond scrum ceremonies to drive efficiency and excellence in all areas. Use new technologies to support the velocity and quality of deployments.
• Develop Leaders and Build Team: Manage a leadership team of ~5 senior-level direct reports, and increase career growth and performance across the division.
  • Grow the careers of leaders across the tech division through weekly check-ins and workshops, ongoing development feedback, and regular career reviews.
  • Provide technical mentorship to the team.
  • Lead recruitment efforts to ensure we are building our team with top talent.
  • Set clear performance expectations and support the team to build itself as a center of excellence.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

• 10+ years of industry experience with 5+ years leading and managing technology teams.
• Experience working with mobile technology solutions.
• Passion for providing hands-on execution guidance for large teams.
• Experience managing Agile software engineering teams successfully deploying solutions to support complex processes.
• Experience translating complex customer needs into high-quality tech solutions that deliver impact.
• Experience with our tech (C# .Net Core, CouchBase, React Native, and Kubernetes) and our tooling landscape (GitHub, JIRA, and Azure DevOps).
• Humility. We are looking for a passionate professional who combines a focus on excellent performance with good humor, patience, and a service mindset interested in joining our family of leaders.
• Language: English is required in all locations.
