As a Senior Engineer II, Field Process, you play a critical role in enabling our customers’ success at the most advanced semiconductor technology nodes. Based in Higashi Hiroshima, you will work hands‑on at customer sites, leading complex process qualifications, resolving high‑impact tool and process issues, and partnering closely with customers and internal teams across the globe. What you will be working on

• Plan, execute, oversee, and document process qualifications for new installations, conversions, and continuous improvement retrofits for PE‑CVD, PE‑ALD, ALD, CVD, and epitaxy reactors at customer sites
• Lead structured problem‑solving activities to identify root causes, develop robust solutions, and support rapid closure of tool excursion escalations during install and sustaining phases
• Act as a senior technical interface for customers, understanding current needs, identifying new opportunities, and anticipating future process requirements to build long‑term, trusted partnerships
• Develop, maintain, and standardize process recipes, experimental data, and technical documentation for use by internal teams and external stakeholders

What we are looking for

• Valid work authorization to work in Japan
• Master’s degree or higher in a materials‑focused STEM discipline such as materials science or engineering, physics, chemistry, electronic engineering, or nanotechnology
• Or a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with relevant professional experience in semiconductor processing or capital equipment
• Strong experience or solid technical foundation in one or more of the following: PE‑CVD, PE‑ALD, ALD, CVD, epitaxy, etch, PVD, surface preparation, photolithography, high‑temperature processing, or materials characterization
• Applied experience using data or signal processing tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, JMP, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent

We are looking for a Staff Digital Design Engineer to help define, build, and optimize high-performance chiplet based SoC architectures. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive at the intersection of microarchitecture, RTL implementation, and performance and power aware design.

Role: 

The Service & Support Engineer will perform installation, preventative maintenance and service on Refeyn instruments both in house and on customer sites and to assist with installations where necessary.

Mechanical Engineer — Hardware Integration and Reliability (Japan)

Summary

QuEra Computing Japan is hiring our first dedicated Mechanical Engineer in Japan to design, prototype, integrate, and maintain mechanical systems for the current and next generation neutral atom quantum computers, and the facility around them. This is a hybrid designer-builder role: equally comfortable proposing a solution in CAD and picking up tools to build, install, and iterate on it in the lab. You will own problems end-to-end — identify the issue, design the fix, coordinate local fabrication, install and validate it — and serve as the local technical bridge to Japanese machine shops, contract manufacturers, and NEDO-supported suppliers, working alongside teams in the US and UK. Professional fluency in both English and Japanese is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Design precision mechanical assemblies — frames, mounts, enclosures, opto-mechanical hardware, shrouds — with attention to rigidity, vibration, and thermal stability.
• Update and own CAD models and 2D drawings for QuEra’s Gemini system at AIST, to match the as-built machine.
• Design and install water cooling loops, leak containment, and thermal management for laser and electronic subsystems.
• Design and install laser safety engineering controls: beam shrouds, periscopes, beam blocks, light-tight enclosures.
• Identify performance, safety, and ergonomics issues; propose options with tradeoffs; implement the fix (braces, maintenance steps, rack accessibility).
• Inspect, assemble, and install quantum computer modules; build unit testing benches for R&D supplier components; apply root-cause and preventive thinking to the product.
• Coordinate with Japanese machine shops and contract manufacturers; translate Boston/UK designs to local standards; support component validation.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

We’re looking for an IT Support Engineer (TC2) to support the day-to-day IT needs across our Japan offices. This is a full-time, on-site role, with flexibility required to support each of our 3 offices as needed. You’ll be a hands-on, first-line problem solver—supporting everything from laptop configuration to meeting room A/V to network troubleshooting. You’ll also support joiner/mover/leaver processes, including onboarding and off-boarding tasks.

Key responsibilities

End-User Support

• Provide timely support for laptops (Windows, macOS, Linux), mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and escalate as needed.
• Manage onboarding and off-boarding tasks, including account provisioning and hardware setup when needed.

IT Systems & Tools

• Maintain and monitor endpoint management systems (e.g., MDM, patching, asset inventory).

Job Summary:​

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead and drive complex hardware-focusedproduct programs through the full product lifecycle from concept and feasibility to high-volumemanufacturing (HVM).​

Supply Base Engineer - Japan

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Supply Base Engineer (SBE) to join QuEra's Hardware Engineering team in Japan. This role will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with key suppliers in Japan, working closely with the US SBE team to ensure robust quality systems and drive continuous improvement across the supply base. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supplier management, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional collaboration to support product development and lifecycle requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Development & Management

• Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers that meet technical, quality, and business requirements.
• Develop and support partnerships with Japanese suppliers
• Act as the primary technical interface between engineering teams and suppliers, ensuring alignment on specifications, manufacturability, and timelines.
• Work with the engineering team to ensure documentation packages are complete and up to date, including 3D models, drawings, assembly procedures, test procedures, test reports, etc.

Quality & Compliance

Job's Mission 

As a R&D Process Engineer at ASM, you will work with semiconductor processing and analytical equipment to research, develop and optimize processes focused on oxidation, annealing, curing, Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD, PEALD), Epitaxy or PECVD for logic, memory, analog, power, and MEMS applications. You will design and conduct complex experiments, measurements and perform the interpretation of complex experimental output. While you deliver creative and inventive solutions, technical publications, and generation of Intellectual Property (IP) are an essential function of this position.

You will have the opportunity to work with a vibrant scientific software team and a community of industry and academic collaborators and to help our growing team of diverse experts address fascinating challenges, ranging from classical compiler techniques to direct integration with low-level hardware components. Using our open-source toolchain, Kirin, you will be building QuEra’s compiler pipeline together with experimental & computational physicists from low-level hardware instructions to high-level programming languages. This involves the development of new features and infrastructure for hardware execution. You will be co-designing compilers and hardware infrastructure for the next generation of quantum computing using cutting-edge neutral-atom and quantum error correction technologies. This emerging direction involves novel challenges in both engineering and science. 

In this Japan-based role, you will focus on movement/shuttling-aware compilation and optimization and support engagement of users of QuEra’s Gemini-class neutral-atom system integrated into AIST’s ABCIQ hybrid quantum-classical computing environment. 

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain compiler components and APIs for atom shuttling / movement-aware compilation, contributing directly to Bloqade Shuttle and Bloqade Lanes.
• Implement and improve optimization methods relevant to shuttling workflows (e.g., routing/scheduling/planning heuristics, constraint-aware transformations, and cost-model-driven compilation decisions).
• Collaborate with scientists and hardware/control teams to translate experimental constraints into robust compiler abstractions and execution-ready instruction streams (including shuttling and related low-level features).
• Provide customer and collaborator support in Japan, including issue triage, reproducing bugs, delivering fixes, and supporting integration/operations for the ABCIQ / AIST deployment.
• Uphold strong engineering practices in public repos: code review, CI/testing, release hygiene, and thoughtful API evolution. 

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python (type hints, testing, packaging, tooling), and comfort working across a scientific codebase.

Role Overview  
We are looking for a Sr. Control System Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to integrate and maintain the hardware and software systems that enable QuEra’s quantum controls and software stack. You’ll work closely with software engineers, physicists, hardware and test engineers to install, upgrade, maintain, test and troubleshoot multiple hardware and software control systems for our Quantum Computers. This role is a foundational systems engineering role to ensure the reliability, stability, and operational functionality of both our development and production environments.  

Key Responsibilities  

• Implement, maintain and test software and hardware in a heterogeneous system that controls disparate computer system devices. 

• Define, document, implement and test procedures for QuEra’s Quantum computer operations. 

• Manage science, development and testing infrastructure, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups, containerized services (K8S), routers, switches, and test systems.

We’re seeking an exceptional Application SW Engineer to join our Japan-based within the Application Software team, focused on localising and advancing Wayve’s autonomous driving technology for the Japanese market. The Key Account Technology Engineer is the ASM product expert who supports extensive customer and internal company contacts for coordinating the introduction of new products, product improvements, and non-conformances/escalations at the customer. This includes leading projects/programs supporting these activities. The focus of this job is on managing all the technical account aspects of the customers in the assigned region. Responsibilities

· Drive NPI & evaluations by leading the project including hands-on work at the customer location, implement BU developed BKMs or CIPs at customer and execute necessary actions and modifications.

· Provide answers to our customers by identifying problems, researching answers and guiding customer through corrective steps to resolve high value problems at customer sites.

· Understand customer timelines for film development / roadmaps for current and future technology nodes and transfers the information to product management, business development and R&D.

· Identify technical inflections points and work with R&D to ensure customer requirements and learnings are implemented into product development.

· Responsible for the performance of our equipment at the customer. Customer specifications which are non-ASM standard are signed by the KAT.

· Recognize early non-conformance of our product and takes the necessary steps for corrective actions, including analyzing data, involving hardware and process exports.

· Take responsibility to solve any escalation as efficient as possible problems, for NPI and installed base.

· Support process team in demo lab execution of customer specific DOEs and processes.

· Own execution of customer demos for new processes and NPIs.

Qualification

· Masters in chemical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or material science.
