The person in this role will leverage their technical skills, business intuition, and analytical thinking to build best-in-class machine learning products. This includes integrating Generative AI capabilities and Vision Models to enrich content quality and user engagement. This is a role for a hardened ML practitioner and a highly skilled organizational leader. You will be the architectural and operational bridge between deep AI research and fast-paced product delivery. As an Associate Software Engineer, you’ll be working on developing robust solutions across next-generation AI/GenAI based products and solutions. As a critical member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our design, development, and continued enhancement of our features along with writing unit & integration tests to ensure features never break.

This is one of the critical roles under the AI team within Engineering. You will possess deep technical expertise as a AI engineer and a strong commitment to participate in the entire AI development lifecycle, including data collection, preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment. This role works on multiple technologies and databases to make sure the product development moves towards rapid development, rich controls, more scalable, and better security.
Are you the person we’re looking for?
Related Experience. You should have at least 6 Months of experience in the software industry as a AI Engineer and the technical requirements necessary to design, develop, test and implement solutions.
Technical Skills. You’re likely to have proficiency in AI development technologies such as Python, FastAPI, PyTest, Celery and other Python frameworks and familiarity with AI/ML, GenAI, and MLOps concepts. You also possess good understanding with object-oriented programming, concurrency, design patterns, and REST APIs. Your familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Terraform and GitHub Actions and frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and databases like SQL and NoSQL such as MongoDB, MSSQL, or Postgres. Understanding of Data Structure & Algorithm analysis and its usage in scalable software design.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You’re not just comfortable engaging in collaborative discussions, but initiating them, too. You are skilled at reading and adapting to different communication styles. When you speak you are clear and concise. Your strong listening skills foster connections with our clients and allow you to accurately collect the right information so you can resolve issues most expediently.
Education. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

The question is whether the infrastructure around it is good enough to make it useful.
Right now, the data platform works. Pipelines run, the warehouse holds data, the BI layer surfaces reports. But Manifest is growing - new brands, new markets, new activation use cases - and the infrastructure needs to scale with it. There are pipelines that need to be more reliable. Transformation logic that needs to be cleaner. Warehouse design that needs to handle more volume without degrading performance. And an activation layer - reverse ETL, operational analytics, data flowing into the tools the business actually uses - that is still being built.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will own significant parts of the data platform end to end - ingestion, transformation, warehouse, activation - and you will be one of the people who determines whether Manifest's data infrastructure is a genuine competitive advantage or a persistent constraint. You will work closely with Principal Engineers, Product, and business stakeholders across all four brands, and you will be expected to operate with the ownership and judgment of someone who has built production-grade data systems before.
What makes this role different: Manifest has real data - cross-brand, multi-geography, commercially significant data. The stack is modern: Snowflake, dbt, Hevo, Airtable, Metabase. The problems are real. And when the data infrastructure surfaces the right insight, it changes a decision that affects real students and real institutions.
AI is central to how we build: This isn't just a data engineering role - it is a role where you will actively design and build AI infrastructure that accelerates the team's own development velocity. We use Snowflake Cortex AI with Claude in our daily engineering workflow - for debugging, RCA, query optimisation, and pipeline analysis. We have already cut root cause analysis time. The next step is embedding AI deeper: automated ticket handling, intelligent monitoring, and AI-assisted development tooling that lets the team move faster without sacrificing reliability.

The Role
We are looking for an elite engineer who builds like a hacker and communicates like a consultant. You will not just be building models in a notebook; you will be deployed to the front lines to build, architect, and ship end-to-end Agentic AI products directly for our most strategic customers.
This is a high-stakes role. You will face "tricky" customers who have vague requirements and high expectations. Your job is to translate their chaos into technical order, write production-grade code, and deploy autonomous agents that solve their actual business problems.
What You Will Do
Design and ship full-stack AI applications. You own the pipeline from data ingestion to the LLM inference layer to the frontend interface.
Architect autonomous agentic workflows (using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or custom implementations) that can reason, plan, and execute complex tasks.
Write robust, clean, and highly testable code (Python/Typescript). "It works on my machine" is not acceptable; it must work in the customer's restricted cloud environment.
Handle DevOps and MLOps constraints: Dockerizing agents, managing Kubernetes clusters, and optimizing inference latency.
Serve as the technical face of the company for our most demanding accounts.
Navigate complex stakeholder environments. You will push back on unrealistic demands, clarify ambiguous requirements, and steer "tricky" customers toward technically feasible solutions without breaking rapport.
Translate technical constraints into business value for non-technical executives.
Generate high-quality data for our customers and ability to review the data generated by other experts. This is one of the most critical aspects of the role.
