The QA/QC Field Engineer is an integral member of the on-site Quality team, providing essential support throughout the full lifecycle of the construction project. Working closely with site leadership and cross-functional teams, this role is responsible for managing day-to-day quality control activities on site, from preconstruction document review through to construction, commissioning, and punch list closure. The QA/QC Field Engineer is on the front line in identifying, preventing, and resolving technical issues across multiple scopes in a complex, mission-critical environment, collaborating directly with design professionals, clients, trade contractors, and craftspeople to maintain the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule and coordinate inspectors, trade contractors, and associated personnel to support efficient quality control workflows across the project.
• Perform on-site inspections across assigned scopes throughout all phases of the project including construction, commissioning, and punch list.
• Attend and contribute to QA/QC meetings and Quality Team meetings, providing detailed updates on inspection findings and open issues.

The Process / Exhaust / Dry Mechanical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for building and planning the commissioning activities for process mechanical, exhaust, and dry utility systems on mission-critical and high-technology construction projects. This role works closely with construction, controls, quality, safety, and operations teams to ensure systems are installed, tested, and turned over in accordance with design intent, client standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Review design documents, specifications, P&IDs, isometrics, equipment submittals, and control narratives to build the commissioning database. 
• Lead and execute commissioning activities for process mechanical, exhaust, and dry utility systems for client handover pre-functional checks through system startup, functional testing, and turnover.
• Develop and review commissioning plans, procedures, checklists for: 
• Process Exhaust Systems (General, Acid, Solvent, Toxic)
• Scrubbers, Abatement Systems, and Exhaust Fans
• Dry Mechanical Utilities (CDA, Nitrogen, Vacuum, Process Interfaces)

Oklo is seeking a Construction Field Engineer / Construction Supervisor to support onsite execution of first-of-a-kind advanced nuclear and infrastructure projects, including Aurora at INL, the Meitner facility, and other projects as assigned. This role is field-forward and execution-driven, providing direct support to the Oklo CPM and broader project team across construction planning, field oversight, technical administration, and turnover.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on construction experience, comfort operating in regulated and high-consequence environments, and the ability to bridge engineering, quality, safety, and craft execution. This role is critical to ensuring construction activities are executed safely, compliantly, and in alignment with design, quality, and schedule objectives.

This is an on-site position in Idaho Falls, ID. 

Specific responsibilities may include:

Field Execution & Construction Oversight

• Support daily field execution activities across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty subcontract scopes
• Perform construction supervision, field inspections, and oversight to verify work is executed in accordance with drawings, specifications, codes, and approved procedures
• Support receipt inspection of materials and equipment, verifying compliance with procurement requirements, certifications, and quality documentation
• Assist with site logistics planning, laydown coordination, access control, and work sequencing

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8+ years of construction experience across heavy civil, infrastructure, industrial, or mission-critical facilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Engineer will provide performance analysis and design expertise on utility-scale solar and energy storage projects during the early-stage development and design phases. You will partner with internal and external contacts to be a subject matter expert on technical specifications for PV and energy storage projects.  

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Evaluate equipment performance, specifications, and roadmap by working with our internal Procurement team and equipment suppliers to drive technology evolution.
• Create photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage production estimates using commercial software programs, like PVsyst, or in-house models.  
• Coordinate Independent Engineer (IE) due diligence including contract management, reviewing IE reports, IE energy assessments, and providing feedback as needed.  
• Provide Owner Engineering review for projects in all stages of design.
• Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge on new technologies and energy assessment techniques for both PV, and energy storage. 
• Provide technical review and input for key contracts and agreements including Interconnection, Equipment Procurement, Power Purchase, EPC, and O&M.
• Create conceptual system design and site layouts for PV and energy storage.
• Communicate technical specifications and track scope of work for engineering design contracts, while also supporting technical review of contractor-supplied deliverables.
• Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
• Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in electrical engineering or related, or an advanced degree.
• Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
• Skills/Attributes:
  • Familiarity with technical specs of the equipment used in solar + storage projects.
  • Familiar with basic energy modeling techniques to predict energy consumption and assess system performance.
  • Foundational engineering contract knowledge and understanding.
  • Ability to review a project schedule, including design reviews, constructability, and value engineering.
  • Capable at nurturing new relationships for collaboration in achieving shared goals.
  • Ability to independently gather and understand project requirements to effectively complete a task.
  • Competent in basic engineering project management, overseeing tasks and schedules to ensure projects are completed.
  • Adept at conveying detailed information in a clear and concise manner, ensuring effective understanding among internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, based in Boise, ID at our customer site, you’ll launch your engineering career at the center of cutting‑edge semiconductor manufacturing. From your first day, you’ll receive training through hands‑on guidance from seasoned engineers onsite. Shift:

What You Will Be Working On 

• Support installation, maintenance, and repair of ASM semiconductor equipment at customer sites 
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues with guidance from senior engineers 
• Deliver clear, timely, customer‑focused support with a strong safety mindset 
• Working in cleanroom environments while following strict safety and quality standards.
• Assist in identifying and contributing to continuous improvement efforts

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
