Woolpert is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Transportation Practice in Ohio (offices in Dayton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus). Project Manager will primarily lead the execution of projects from proposal through detailed design. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated with a strong technical background to guide staff through projects. The Project Manager may also serve as a subject matter expert in support of other projects across the country and around the world. There is potential for upward mobility within our rapidly growing Transportation Practice.

• 15 or more years of experience in transportation design (strong preference for bridge experience).
• Must be able to travel 5-10% to client sites.
• Knowledge of ODOT Project Development Process, construction documentation & administration and knowledge in state, local municipalities design process is a plus.

Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Site Civil Engineer to join our dynamic Energy Services Team. This position is responsible for supporting civil site projects, typically including grading and earthwork, site access, erosion control, stormwater management, and other documentation to support the client's permitting and construction efforts.  Priority will be given to candidates who are interested in civil site projects.

Position Overview

Venture Global is seeking a Principal Engineer, Rotating Equipment to join our Pipeline Engineering team in Houston, Texas.

This role will serve as the technical authority for all pipeline rotating equipment systems and will oversee activities spanning the complete equipment life cycle — from specification and selection, through commissioning and startup, and continuing through long-term operation, maintenance, and reliability monitoring.

The Principal Engineer will ensure that design and operational decisions support maximum equipment uptime, safety, and cost-efficiency, and will guide both internal teams and external engineering partners to achieve consistent reliability and best-in-class performance of turbomachinery assets across Venture Global’s pipeline compressor station facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Specification and Selection

• Define and validate technical requirements for rotating equipment, including gas and steam turbines, compressors, pumps, motors, and related auxiliaries.
• Review vendor proposals and engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with Venture Global’s operational strategy, reliability targets, and technical standards.
• Collaborate with EPCM and OEM partners during design development to ensure optimal equipment configuration and materials selection for long-term maintainability and performance.

Commissioning and Startup

• Advise on pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities, ensuring that manufacturer recommendations and operational requirements are met.
• Support field teams with performance testing, vibration analysis, and acceptance validation of rotating equipment systems.
• Coordinate issue resolution between operations, maintenance, and vendor teams during early operational phases.

Operations and Maintenance

• Provide day-to-day technical support for equipment performance, troubleshooting, and maintenance optimization across operating facilities.
• Review predictive maintenance data and vibration analysis reports; ensure prompt and accurate interpretation leading to actionable recommendations.
• Drive Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) improvements and ensure maintenance plans are cost-effective, safe, and aligned with reliability goals.
• Support turnaround planning and execution with detailed technical scope input, risk assessments, and resource coordination.

Reliability Monitoring and Improvement

• Implement and manage condition monitoring and reliability tracking systems, ensuring equipment health indicators are properly analyzed and acted upon.
• Develop Key Performance Indicators, including MTBR and MTBF, and the development and oversight to a Reliability Improvement Team in pursuit of continuous improvement.
• Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) exercises and produce comprehensive failure reports with recommended corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for design, maintenance, or operational improvements across the fleet to reduce downtime, unplanned outages, and cost of ownership.
• Promote standardization and reduced interfaces across engineering, operations, and vendor teams to improve consistency and communication through the asset life cycle.

Leadership and Mentorship

• Serve as the pipeline organization’s subject matter expert for rotating equipment, mentoring less experienced engineers and technicians.
• Foster collaboration with Venture Global’s Terminal Engineering and Maintenance Teams, EPCM partners and OEMs, ensuring that reliability and maintenance considerations are embedded in all life cycle stages.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical discipline (required).
• Preferred: Professional Engineering (PE) license.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience in rotating and mechanical equipment within the natural gas pipeline industry.
• Proven expertise across the entire equipment life cycle — specification, selection, commissioning/startup, operations, maintenance and reliability monitoring and improvement.
• Extensive knowledge of gas turbines (Frames and Aero-derivatives), compressors, and associated systems such as couplings, bearings, lubrication systems, and dry gas/mechanical seals.
• Extensive experience with major turbomachinery OEMs, including Baker Hughes, Siemens and Solar.
• Strong background in compressor performance evaluation, vibration analysis, and reliability analytics.
• Extensive experience with key pipeline codes and standards, such as 49 CFR Part 192, ASME B31.8, and API 616, 617 and 692.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in RCFA and RCM methodologies.
• Working knowledge of CMMS systems and condition monitoring software (e.g., Bently Nevada or equivalent).
• Familiarity with engineering documentation (P&IDs, equipment specs, wiring diagrams, maintenance procedures).
• Ability to synthesize technical data into clear operational recommendations.
• Development of governing standards and procedures.

Soft Skills

• Maintains / responsible for master P&ID redline register and availability to site / operations personnel
• Provides technical input to commissioning activities and planning
• Provides input to weekly site engineering report 

 Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
• Professional Engineer’s (PE) License or equivalent CEng license is required. 
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience as a Senior Process Engineer in the LNG industry.
• Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in all aspects of process engineering from conceptual design, economics, detailed engineering, and plant startup and troubleshooting.
• Commissioning, start-up, and performance testing at project sites is a plus.
• Strong understanding of key equipment involved in LNG liquefaction facilities.

This position will be part of a team engaging clients across the Water markets in support of client objectives in the areas of Water Resources Design, Drainage Design, Utilities Design, Site Civil Design, Data Analytics, Organizational Performance, Process Improvement, and related studies and analyses.  This position will perform other duties as assigned.

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for aviation and airfield engineering projects from conception through completion. Lead the development of construction plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and specialized engineering reports in alignment with FAA, TxDOT, and sponsor requirements. • Facilitate kickoff meetings, progress reviews, design workshops, and internal coordination sessions to maintain alignment across stakeholders and team members. Prepare and deliver accurate monthly invoicing, financial updates, and comprehensive Project Status Reports (PSRs) that outline progress, issues, and recommended actions. Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical oversight to project engineers and designers, supporting professional development and strengthening the aviation group’s overall technical capabilities.

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact for airport sponsors, TxDOT, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and schedules, document decisions, and ensure clear and timely communication to maintain project alignment. Build and maintain positive client relationships through proactive engagement, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through.

Documentation & Compliance

• Review sponsor-provided documents, including as-built drawings and prior design reports. Coordinate with subconsultants for surveying, geotechnical investigations, environmental studies, and specialized technical services. Ensure project documentation complies with federal, state, and local requirements, including FAA grant processes, environmental regulations, and permitting rules.

Bidding & Construction Support

• Manage the bidding process by organizing pre-bid meetings, issuing addenda, responding to contractor inquiries, and evaluating proposals. Provide construction-phase support through site visits, review of change orders, coordination with contractors, and monitoring of field activities to uphold quality standards and design intent.

Project Close-Out

• Review and approve final engineering drawings, compile project cost summaries, and participate in final inspections with TxDOT and project sponsors. Ensure all close-out documentation is delivered accurately and in accordance with sponsor and regulatory requirements.

Client & Team Management

• Lead cross-functional internal and external teams through project execution. Strengthen client relationships by identifying opportunities during proposals, RFP/RFQ processes, and ongoing engagements. Partner with management to evaluate client satisfaction, manage project risks, and support the overall financial health of the aviation practice. Provide direction, mentorship, and performance support to junior staff.

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 10+ years of project management experience in aviation and airfield design
• Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars and federal aviation regulations preferred
• Proficiency in AutoDesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and related engineering software
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
