We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated, collaborative and committed individual to fill our Network Field technician position within our Global Network team based in Singapore
The AV and Network Technician will support the Project Management and Network Engineering team to carry out a best-in-class service in the deployment of networking hardware and AV technology for Global customers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
NETWORK
- Installing network hardware, components and cabling
- Trouble shooting and resolving issues with network cabling, copper and fibre.
- Inspecting and testing copper and fibre optic lines to ensure they adhere to industry standards.
- Ability to rack and stack networking hardware within onsite and off-site racks in accordance with requirements.
- Ability to provide technical support through various means of communication
- Collaborate easily with network engineers and project managers
- Assisting network engineers with network design, implementation and problem resolution
- Be able to cable networking rooms and racks to data centre cabling requirements and standards
- Create site survey reports on MDF and IDF readiness including power & cooling and rack status.
- Perform both Pre and Post Wifi surveys using industry standard software and equipment.
- Meet quality, productivity, turnaround time and other expectations
- Any other ad hoc duties as reasonably required by the company and within the competency of the post-holder, including assisting on Audio Visual Team deployments when not assigned to Network deployments The job description should not be regarded as restrictive or definitive but as a broad guide to the demands of the position.
AUDIO VISUAL
- Manage sub-contractors – check the quality of work & track their progress against allocated tasks
- Liaise with the client and provide updates
- Install and de-install AV systems across client sites in a commercial setting
- Configure endpoints and supporting infrastructure
- Conduct room audits to ensure optimal technology performance for various sizes of meeting room
- Perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment and spaces ready for use
- Identify and resolve hardware faults and system failures
- Complete post-installation assessments and documentation
- Carry out on-site User Acceptance Testing and software upgrades
- Act as a technical escalation point, providing solutions for ongoing issues
- Collaborate with EOS teams to deliver AV services in line with SLAs and client expectations
- Communicate project updates and reports to management
- Document hardware failures and manage Break/Fix and RMA requests
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Good experience of networking hardware – routers, servers, switches, PDU’s, copper and fibre optic cabling.
- Ability to terminate Straight through & Rollover RJ45 copper cables
- Hands on experience with major manufactures of routers, switches and wireless.
- Proven experience in AV/Video Conferencing system installation
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read technical network diagrams, schematics and port maps
- Ability to interpret rack build layouts and bills of materials
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Good understanding of networking concepts and a desire to build skills in this area
- Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to diagnose basic technical problems and find the root cause.
- Ability to work in fast paced dynamic environment
- Previous years’ experience in Network Engineering Deployments for large-scale networks in a corporate environment.
- Must be available to work outside of normal business hours
GREAT TO HAVE:
CTS EDUCATION: Preferred: (CNET) CDCTP / CCNA / JNCIA/ CompTIA or equivalent.
N.B* Travel is a key requisite for this position; it accounts for 95% of all deployments undertaken. Most travel will be within India but there will also be some international work.

- You must also hold a valid passport or be in the process of procuring one
- You must also hold a valid driving license or be in the process of procuring one EXPERIENCE LEVEL: REQUIRED: 2+ years Network deployment / Data Centre experience
- Fluent in spoken and written English

A Snapshot
As the Maintenance Services Manager, reporting to our Senior Technical Services Manager, you will work closely with our Operations team. Making an impact in a number of ways:
- Supporting the STSM in relation to all aspects of data centre operations to achieve 100% uptime and compliance with customer SLAs
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of managers, technicians and third party vendors to plan, manage and supervise maintenance activities, both planned and reactive, on a nominated site
Your Day to Day
The MSM is responsible for the day to day leadership of the team of technicians on the site, reporting and raising issues/tasks to the STSM and as required;
- Ensure site resources are efficiently and effectively managed inclusive of technical, non-technical aspects and 24/7 technical operational staff. Ensure services are continually provided and all leave is planned, coordinated and covered
- Supervise and manage the technical on-site team members to ensure optimal performance is being achieved
- Setting performance goals for the technician team, as well as the development, coaching, and counselling of the team members
- Handle, investigate and resolve complex technical issues and incidents which arise at the site
- Ensure alignment to site operating procedures (SOP, MOP, EOP) and any other documentation required by law, e.g. SWMS
- Prepare and maintain asset maintenance plans and tasks up to date with new equipment and revised maintenance or regulatory requirements
- Management of planned maintenance, repairs and upgrade, activities ensuring that all works have an appropriate supervision structure in place. This includes attendance outside of normal working hours at any time required
- Prepare and or review all change management procedures, maintain up to date library of switching and isolation procedures. Identify and provide training to staff where required to ensure they are appropriately skilled for tasks performed on site
- Maintain compliance with local regulatory requirements including environmental, building, fire, electrical, hydraulic, occupational health & safety
- Primary operational contact for vendors, secondary for customers and local point of escalation during emergency events and day-to-day operations
- Coordinate and prepare change requests using systems provided in accordance with customer change policies and service level expectations
- Attend and perform all critical switching, isolation of services at the site so that equipment is by-passed to allow maintenance to be performed. This includes attendance outside of normal working hours at any time required
- Supervise operational metrics, data and analyse risks
- Conduct regular property inspections
- Take part in the 'on call' incident response roster
Requirements
- 5+ years of Mechanical and/or Electrical experience in Data Centres (preferred), facilities management, infrastructure, engineering operations or related fields
- Ability to establish and review Method of Procedure documents, incident reports, emergency event summaries, root cause analysis reports, and O&M manuals
- Ideally, successfully run 3rd party service providers and negotiate quote/pricing for services
- Familiar with working with Customer Portals, BMS, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
- Excellent collaborator with strong communication skills in English and Mandarin/Cantonese
- Exceptionally flexible, forward-thinking and motivated by change
- Effective customer management skills and meeting chair experience
