About the Role
We are seeking a strategic, creative and commercially minded Legal Counsel to facilitate and support our APAC expansion, currently located in Singapore and expanding to Hong Kong. Your role will be to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal guidance aligned with the firm’s growth objectives.
This individual will serve as the primary legal partner for the APAC business, working closely with business management, portfolio managers, trading, operations, finance, legal and compliance globally to ensure that risk is managed effectively while facilitating access to new markets, products and regions.

What you will do:
Advise on a variety of legal, compliance and governance related matters
Help drive legal, regulatory, compliance, governance, IP and data privacy strategy
Liaise with regulators including the Hong Kong Insurance Authority
Proactively identify and mitigate legal, regulatory and compliance risks in the business
Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts including insurance policies and SaaS contracts
Support on fundraising and group structuring
Help shape and support the group’s governance landscape including directors and investors matters
Work on investments and acquisitions for the group
What we’re looking for:
Qualified as a lawyer in a common law or Asian jurisdiction
5+ years post-qualification experience* (with flexibility for exceptional candidates)
Insurance experience a bonus
Experience using GenAI tools and agents a bonus
Tech/SaaS legal experience a bonus
Fluent English and Chinese essential (including being able to draft in both languages)
We are open to candidates from 5 years’ PQE upwards (with flexibility for exceptional candidates). This hire may be made at Legal & Compliance Counsel or Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel level, depending on the individual’s legal and regulatory experience, insurance sector exposure, and ability to operate independently.
