As our new Governance, Risk and Compliance Analyst, you'll get hands-on with some of our most exciting initiatives yet.
You'll help mature our core compliance frameworks and play a key role in shaping our approach to AI security and governance. From risk-assessing new AI systems to helping us use AI to automate manual GRC workflows, your work will directly strengthen our security posture.

You'll partner with our security, risk and engineering teams, to mature our core compliance programs and safely adopt exciting new AI technologies, directly strengthening the trust millions of people place in our platform.
- Drive our ongoing compliance efforts for major industry standards, including SOC 2, ISO27001, ISO42001 and PCI DSS, ensuring we consistently meet commitments to our customers.
- Evaluate and manage the security risks associated with our new artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, allowing our product teams to innovate safely and securely.
- Streamline how we assess the security of our vendors and third-party tools, paying special attention to how we safely integrate external AI technologies into our business.
- Help develop our internal standards for artificial intelligence, keeping us ahead of the curve on new global regulations like the EU AI Act.
- Identify opportunities to replace manual, repetitive risk management tasks with smart, AI-driven automation.
- Refresh our security policies and public-facing documents to clearly communicate our security posture to our customers, partners and auditors.
- Act as an advocate for security awareness across the business, helping colleagues understand how balancing risk and innovation leads to better, safer products.
Who you are:
- You have solid experience managing and auditing against core compliance frameworks, such as SOC 2, ISO27001 and PCI DSS.
- You're well-versed in risk management processes, including risk identification, third-party risk management and vendor security due diligence.
- You have practical experience developing, implementing and managing security policies and procedures.
- You're a pragmatist who knows how to balance security risks with the pace of innovation, bringing a solid understanding of cloud environment risks.
- Bonus points if you're familiar with emerging AI governance frameworks (like the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and ISO/IEC 42001) or have a strong desire to learn them on the job.
- Bonus points if you have experience with, or a keen interest in, using AI to automate manual tasks and drive efficiencies in GRC workflows.

Principal Backend Engineer – Java

The Role
We’re looking for a Principal Backend Engineer (Java) to join our Technology & Engineering team. This leadership-level role calls for deep technical acumen, a security-first mindset, and strong coaching capabilities. You will play a pivotal role in helping shape our clients' technology programmes, from designing innovative digital products and services to enterprise-grade platforms leveraging emerging technology. You will lead solution design in pursuit of business vision, working hands-on with engineering teams to translate strategy into reality. You'll also influence broader technology direction through advising on architectural strategy, pattern and standard definition, and promoting effective governance.
You'll create customer-centric solutions while guiding small, impactful teams through complex technical challenges in agile delivery. Finally, you will also contribute to our Technology and Engineering Practice by mentoring junior architects, fostering knowledge sharing across our technical community, and driving commercial value at Capco through delivery excellence and active participation in business development initiatives.
This role will sit in our Scotland office, with a need to potentially work in either Edinburgh or Glasgow depending on client expectations.
Required Experience
To succeed in this role, you should have proven experience in:
- Designing scalable, resilient solution architectures that align with enterprise strategies and business outcomes.
- Working across legacy and modern environments, including at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
- Deploying modern architecture patterns including microservices, APIs, events, sagas, containerisation, and serverless.
- Experience within at least one core Financial Services domain: Capital Markets, Retail Banking, Payments, Insurance or Wealth & Asset Management.
- Translating business requirements into clear, implementable technical designs through personal leadership and working closely with engineering teams.
- Building trusted relationships with senior leadership and influencing key decisions.
- Operating within agile delivery models and modern delivery practices (e.g. SAFe and DevOps).
- Applying recognised architecture frameworks, methods, or techniques (e.g. TOGAF, Domain-Driven Design, or NIST) in a pragmatic way.
While not mandatory, experience in the following areas is beneficial:
- Consulting or client-facing delivery experience in complex environments.
- Supporting pre-sales, proposals, or bid activities alongside senior leaders.
- Designing greenfield or cloud-first solutions within enterprise-scale organisations.
- Contributing to the development or maturation of architecture practices or communities.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies, including AI solutions.
- Certification in relevant frameworks, methodology, or technology (e.g. TOGAF, or AWS).

The Role
Capco is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead and deliver complex data architecture initiatives across our Wealth & Asset Management clients. In this senior consulting role, you will guide wealth managers, asset managers, and private banks through large-scale data transformation journeys - defining enterprise data strategies, designing target architectures, and building scalable, cloud-based platforms that support advisor and client experiences, investment analytics, regulatory reporting, and operational efficiency.
Alongside client delivery, you will contribute to evolving Capco’s Wealth & Asset Management data architecture propositions and thought leadership in modern, cloud-native data ecosystems.
What You’ll Do
- Lead agile consulting engagements delivering modern data architecture and cloud transformation across Wealth & Asset Management
- Define and implement scalable enterprise data strategies spanning programmes and business units.
- Design canonical WAM data domains and models (client/household, portfolio/account, holdings/transactions, instruments & pricing, performance, fees).
- Architect and deliver cloud-native data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) enabling advisor/client journeys and advanced investment analytics (risk, performance, reporting).
- Define integration patterns across core WAM platforms (CRM/advisor, OMS/PMS, wealth back office, custody, market/reference data, reporting).
- Establish robust data quality, reconciliation, and control frameworks (e.g., holdings vs. books & records/AUM, pricing, corporate actions, fees/NAV).
- Drive master and reference data strategies (clients, instruments, counterparties, legal entities) aligned to governance, metadata, privacy, and stewardship.
- Act as a subject matter expert, translating complex technical concepts into clear business value for senior stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience delivering enterprise data architecture and cloud data engineering, including platform design within Wealth & Asset Management environments.
- Deep knowledge of contextual, logical, and physical data modelling practices applied across Front Office, Investments, Operations, and Risk/Compliance domains.
- Strong understanding of core WAM data concepts (client/householding, suitability & risk profiling, holdings/positions, trade lifecycle, pricing, performance, fees).
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data stacks, including cloud migration and transformation programmes.
- Experience integrating and architecting around key WAM platforms and data sources (CRM, OMS/PMS/wealth back office, custody/fund accounting, Bloomberg/market data, reporting layers).
- Understanding of data management tooling, security frameworks, and control environments within regulated financial services.
- Exposure to WAM regulatory and ESG requirements (MiFID II, SFDR, PRIIPs/KIDs, FATCA) and their impact on data models, lineage, and controls.
- Strong communication skills, able to engage and influence stakeholders across both technical and non-technical teams.
