As we expand our brand, we are seeking a Director, Content Strategy to lead and evolve our thought leadership engine.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution. The Director will own the end-to-end lifecycle of thought leadership: from identifying high-impact opportunities, to shaping editorial direction through collaboration with other marketing colleagues (brand, demand gen, SEO, etc.), managing production and publishing of designed and web-based content, and managing the vast content library. The right candidate will have meaningful experience and passion for creating short and long-form thought leadership, leveraging both data and subject matter expertise to drive impact for the business. This individual will partner closely with subject matter experts and manage third parties vendors to identify and translate complex insights into compelling, business-driven narratives that support marketing, sales, and brand authority.
As an ideal candidate, you will be both a strategist and a hands-on operator: someone who can define where we should lead or add to the conversation on timely topics, while also rolling up their sleeves to write, edit, refine, and guide content through approval cycles to completion. You are highly agile, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams while maintaining a clear connection between content and business outcomes. You adeptly foster connections at all business levels, collaborating to create, while simultaneously guiding decisions through thoughtful executive communication.
Salary: $150k and $160k, depending on level of experience.

KUSA, the TEGNA owned NBC affiliate in Denver, CO, is looking for a highly skilled artistic photographer and editor who can create sharable and exciting content for television, social media, streaming, and mobile. We want journalists who can tell great stories on their own or with a team -- photographers who bring new ideas for the future of journalism. Our ideal candidates are familiar with the latest photography, editing tools, and techniques. They create unique and exciting content on all platforms. They are proficient with live news gathering tools and can participate in live performance on air and on live streaming when necessary.

Responsibilities:
In This Role, You Will:
• Use the latest editing and photography tools to tell great stories, including but not limited to Edius.
• Produce original content on-air and on all digital platforms that evoke emotion and tell compelling stories.
• Write and post daily on all digital platforms including attaching images and streaming video – must include social media.
• Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
• Contact sources and develop news stories. Cover breaking, general, sports, feature, investigative, and political news stories. Produce news stories that are unique and captivating.
• Attend editorial meetings, participate in discussions, and suggest story ideas.
• Edit and post video and text content stories for website.
Requirements:
• Current driver’s license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle to and from various locations
• BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field
• 2 or more years of experience preferred
• Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
• Proven ability to generate creative, engaging, content-driven live shots
• Demonstrated social media proficiency, especially in the field, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook
• Member and active participant in NPPA preferred
• SNG experience
• Demonstrated news judgment, writing skills, photography experience, and non-linear editing skills.
• Must be flexible with schedule
• Must understand the tenets of professional journalism
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines
• Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations
• Must be able to handle the physical demands of a photojournalist
SALARY RANGE: $26.44 - 31.25

KUSA, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in Denver, CO is transforming the way we gather and present news, and we’re looking for a weekend Story Desk Editor to embrace our transition to the newsroom of the future.
This hybrid role combines the skills of an assignment editor and a digital content producer to serve as the hub of the newsroom. The Story Desk Editor drives daily editorial execution, curates and produces impactful stories, and ensures our content connects authentically with audiences across streaming, digital, social and broadcast platforms.
Role Summary
As a Story Desk Editor, you will be part of the Story Management Desk (SMD), a unified desk that replaces the legacy assignment and digital desks. The SMD model ensures a single, streamlined workflow for planning, producing and curating stories across platforms.
You will also work as the primary Weekend Planner, working ahead of the weekend with reporters, producers, and news leaders to set up weekend coverage plans.
You will lead coverage during breaking news, shape daily story planning, and curate content across platforms. This position requires decisive editorial judgment, strong writing skills, and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines. You will collaborate with MSJs, producers and photojournalists to deliver accurate, relevant and engaging stories that serve the community.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and communicate newsroom coverage during breaking news, ensuring accuracy, urgency and balance
• Create the weekend plan which includes staffing for all shifts, submitted story pitches, story ideas, live morning show guests, events to cover, and stories available to run on the weekend.
• Identify and plan stories that matter most to the community, using editorial judgment and social listening
• Lead the weekend editorial meeting on Fridays
• Guide weekend newsroom logistics and provide editorial support for MSJs, producers, and photojournalists
• Create and edit engaging content for digital platforms: website, mobile app and streaming,
• Edit reporter content for accuracy, grammar, AP style, digital best practices, fairness and ethical considerations
• Enhance storytelling with creative elements (graphics, video, audience-submitted content, etc.)
• Use available metrics (i.e. Taboola, Google Data Studio, etc.) to inform coverage and improve audience reach
• Support newsroom operations and coverage planning as needed
• Uphold TEGNA’s journalistic standards and values across all platforms
Requirements:
• 1–3 years of journalism experience in a local newsroom, digital production, or related role
• Strong news judgment and the ability to make fast, sound editorial decisions under pressure
• Organizational skills to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce accurate and compelling content quickly
• Experience with newsroom systems, CMS tools
• A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset that thrives in a team environment
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or equivalent experience
