About the Role
We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of Backblaze products across UI and API experiences. This role will serve as a trusted quality partner to Product and Engineering, owning end to end testing and helping define a strong quality strategy across new and existing features. The ideal candidate brings deep QA experience, strong automation skills, a thoughtful approach to test design, and the ability to improve testing workflows through AI, process enhancements, and close cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do:
- Understand Backblaze products and its software stack.
- Own end to end testing across UI, API and serve as a trusted quality partner for product and development teams.
- Advocate for testability across the software and collaborate with product owners for well defined acceptance criteria.
- Define test strategy and write structured test plans for new features being developed.
- Design and automate tests in python/javascript and contribute to current test harnesses.
- Perform functional, integration and regression testing for Backblaze API and user flows.
- Leverage AI to enhance these workflows and accelerate testing.
- Interact with developers to clarify functionality and facilitate defect resolution by identifying, recording and verifying software issues.
- Define and implement QA process improvements.
The Right Fit:
- Experience with API testing and understanding of cloud storage concepts.
- 10+ years of QA experience with focus on testing at scale.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong experience with scripting and test automation software (such as Selenium or Playwright).
- Can utilize AI tools in a manner advantageous to testing and advocates for AI adoption.
- Familiarity with TestRail or a similar test case management software and JIRA or another project and issue-tracking software is needed. Other relevant software: Jenkins, GitHub, Postman
- Experience with Agile/Scrum and well-versed in SDLC processes
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to clearly and simply convey complex concepts.
- Experience with performance and security testing is a plus.
- Cross platform experience (Mac/Windows/Linux)

About The Role
Konrad Group is looking to hire full-time Quality Assurance Engineers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interacting with project stakeholders to understand project requirements, create documentation, and lead and execute QA processes. The QA Engineer will create Test Plans and execute them in accordance with the SDLC while performing rigorous testing to ensure overall project success.
Our engineering teams work in smaller groups based on project size, collaborating closely with project management and our quality engineering specialists. We strive to create a work environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, career advancement and personal fulfillment.
What You'll Do
Carry out a variety of test requirements on a project-by-project basis, including:
- Manual functional and behavioural testing
- Device, operating system, and browser support testing
- User experience testing
- Front-end test automation with Selenium or other automation frameworks
- Performance, penetration/security, regression, smoke testing, etc.
- Working knowledge of automation tools for preceding testing types above also a plus
- Create informative and thorough defects in JIRA and verify defect fixes
- Interact with Project Management and Development teams to understand test schedules and deadlines
- Create project health reports and keep stakeholders informed on overall project health
- Triage and escalate issues based on severity and significance to project
- Confirm consistency in experience across multiple browsers and devices
Qualifications
General QA Skills
- Bachelor Degree in Software Development or similar
- 1+ years of experience in QA roles
- Technical certifications is a plus
- Knowledge of Windows, OS X, iOS and Android operating systems
- Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal, are required
- Knowledge of industry standard testing practices and processes
- Ability to triage and prioritize defects effectively
- Proficiency with all standard browsers and operating systems, desktop and mobile
Working knowledge and proficiency or ability to work with Konrad Group's technology stack:
- JIRA for SDLC management
- GIT for version control
- Experience with enterprise level test management software such as Zephyr or TestRail
- Knowledge of how to build for Android, iOS, or web from repository a big plus
- Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly

- Mobile automation experience using Appium with Java.
- Create and maintain automation test scripts for different frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Performance, penetration/security, regression, smoke testing, etc.
- Working knowledge of automation tools for preceding testing types above is also a mustCreate informative and thorough defects in JIRA, Azure DevOps and verify defect fixesWork creating and maintaining CI/CD for automation tests using tools such as GitHub Actions, Gitlab Jobs, Jenkins among others.
- Interact with Project Management and Development teams to understand test schedules and deadlines.
- Create project health reports and keep stakeholders informed on overall project health.
- Triage and escalate issues based on severity and significance to the project.
- Confirm consistency in experience across multiple browsers and devices.
Qualifications

- Bachelor Degree in Software Development or similar
- 4+ years of experience in QA roles
- 1+ years of experience in Automation QA jobs
- Technical certifications is a plus
