We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to be an architect and caretaker of our Perception codebase, building the systems and tools that make it easy for our ML, CV, and robotics engineers to explore ideas and turn them into production-grade solutions. You’ll work closely with our research teams and our data platform team, leveraging their data and ML infrastructure expertise, while focusing on creating a robust, scalable, and developer-friendly foundation for our Perception models.

What You’ll Do

• Wrap perception ML models (part registration, seam localization, real-time weld tracking) into reliable production services that ship to our internationally deployed fleet of welding robots.
• Build gRPC/Protobuf service interfaces with rigorous schema versioning so ML models can evolve seamlessly within our software stack.
• Own deployment infrastructure, including containerization, CUDA/PyTorch environment management, and GPU memory budgeting.
• Build observability and telemetry pipelines that surface fleet-wide perception failures, connecting model metrics to operator outcomes and shortening debug cycles.
• Design data pipelines that close the active-learning loop, ingesting fleet data through annotation tools and routing labeled data back to training services.
• Help establish software best practices and drive engineering quality through code review, testing harnesses, and CI/CD, and mentor mid-level engineers writing production perception services.

Who You Are

• 5+ years building production backend systems in Python (C++ is a plus). 
• Expertise in architecture, concurrency, performance, and API design.
• Deep experience designing and operating gRPC/Protobuf services in production, including schema evolution and backward-compatible API contracts across long-lived clients.
• Hands-on with containerized deployment, Linux, and GPU compute. Comfortable diagnosing CUDA driver, PyTorch version, and memory allocation issues on inference hardware.
• Experience building developer tools, frameworks, or platforms, especially those used by ML, CV, or research teams.
• Comfortable enough with ML and computer vision workflows (training loops, evaluation harnesses, point clouds) to support them in code, even though you don't necessarily tune models yourself.
• Thrive at the boundary between research and production, translating prototypes into reliable services while enabling the researchers behind them.

We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer with strong experience in Go (Golang) to help design and build high-performance, scalable backend services. You'll work closely with our infrastructure and product teams to develop APIs, optimize throughput, and design distributed systems that power our large-scale application. Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 USD per year, plus an additional 5% variable annual bonus contingent on Company performance and eligible to receive a Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant. *This is the pay range the Company believes is equitable for this position at the time of this posting. Our Mechanical Engineers work on some of the most important things we need to change the future of manufacturing - electromechanical components and automation systems that enable safe part holding and quality welds. Our flexible backend system integrates robots, sensors, and other systems present in manufacturing and combines them with our cutting-edge algorithms. You will report to our Hardware Engineering Manager and will join a team of dedicated, supportive, and enthusiastic people to help create the future of manufacturing. 

What You’ll Do

• Design welding fixtures, tooling, and robotic cell layouts for automated robotic welding systems.
• Create build-to-print part and assembly drawings, mechanical BOMs, and layouts in SolidWorks, applying GD&T as needed.
• Perform structural validation using SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) to support design decisions.
• Design and integrate pneumatic and low-voltage electrical subsystems within mechanical assemblies.
• Build and validate designs at our manufacturing facility by hands-on prototyping. 
• Assist in manufacturing through machine shop work and assembly as needed
• Support builds, kitting, and installations, resolving mechanical issues as systems are deployed.
• Implement engineering change requests (ECRs) driven by build and field feedback.
• Partner with manufacturing and supply chain to reduce BOM cost, improve availability, and standardize parts.
• Capture lessons learned and roll improvements into standards, libraries, and future designs.

Who You Are

• Bachelors degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent
• 2–6+ years of experience in mechanical design for automation or robotic systems, ideally in robotic welding environments.
• Experienced with fixture design, robotic cell layouts, and production automation hardware.
• Strong user of SolidWorks, including FEA, with the ability to interpret and apply results pragmatically.
• Comfortable producing manufacturing-ready engineering drawings
• Familiar with pneumatic systems, electrical interfaces, and mechanical integration points.
• Knowledgeable in machine safety as it applies to mechanical design, risk reduction, and designing for safe operation and maintenance.
