About the role

We are looking for a Senior Reliability Lab Operation Engineer who will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of laboratory equipment, complex problem analysis, and technical improvement, and participation in the development of reliability test equipment and test fixtures. The engineer will ensure the laboratory operates efficiently, stably, and with low risk through institutionalized and engineering means, providing reliable experimental platform support for the R&D, verification, and mass production of POS terminal products.

This position requires a deep understanding of mechatronic consumer systems, strong development skills, and proven ability to lead and collaborate in cross-functional team environments and in supplier management. In this role, you will manage contract workers (CWs) to meet the needs of laboratory operational excellence.

What you will do

1. Laboratory Operation and Equipment Full Lifecycle Management

• Fully responsible for the planning, operation, and continuous optimization of reliability lab equipment;
• Core equipment under management includes, but is not limited to:
• Environmental reliability equipment: High/low temperature, temperature and humidity, thermal shock, temperature/humidity cycling equipment, etc.;
• Electronic testing and measurement equipment: Data acquisition systems, programmable power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters, sensors, and data loggers;
• Develop and implement equipment full lifecycle management strategies.

2. Maintenance, Repair, and Calibration System Development

• Lead and execution of the annual maintenance, repairing, and calibration plans for laboratory equipment;
• Deeply participate in the analysis of complex equipment failures and technical decision-making, leading internal and external technical reviews when necessary;
• Standardize the instrument calibration management process to ensure the accuracy and consistency of test data;
• Establish and continuously optimize management systems and technical documents for equipment maintenance, repair, and calibration.

3. Reliability Test Equipment and Fixture Development

• Participate in or lead the customized development or modification of reliability test equipment to meet POS product testing needs;
• Collaborate on the design and development of reliability test tooling and fixtures (structural or electrical);
• Promote standardization, modularization, and reusability design for test equipment and fixtures.

4. Risk Control and Technical Improvement

• Identify technical risks in laboratory equipment operation and reliability testing processes;
• Formulate and implement preventive maintenance and risk control programs to enhance overall equipment reliability;
• Analyze the impact of equipment issues on test results and product reliability, and propose systemic improvement suggestions.

5. Supplier and Cross-Departmental Collaboration

• Act as the technical interface, liaising with equipment manufacturers and third-party maintenance/calibration service providers;
• Evaluate supplier technical capabilities and service quality, and drive continuous improvement;
• Closely cooperate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing departments to ensure the smooth execution of reliability testing plans.

6. Systems, Audits, and Technical Support

• Participate as a core engineer in internal systems and customer audits (such as requirements related to ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025);
• Provide technical evaluation and equipment feasibility analysis for new laboratory projects and test methods;
• Provide technical guidance and experience sharing for managing junior engineers or technicians.

Minimum requirements:

1. Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or above, in a Mechatronics-related major (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, etc.);
• 5+ years of experience in lab equipment management or reliability lab engineering (3+ years can also be considered for a senior reserve position);

2. Technical Skills

• Familiar with the structure, principles, and maintenance strategies of environmental reliability test equipment;
• Experience in the development or modification of reliability test equipment;
• Experience in test fixture design, development, or optimization;
• Familiar with ME software (such as AutoCAD), capable of reading and drawing engineering fixtures;

3. Comprehensive Abilities

• Possess systematic thinking and engineering problem-solving abilities;
• Good communication, coordination, and project promotion skills;
• High sense of responsibility and risk awareness, capable of making technical judgments at critical junctures.
• Requires 20% business travel (mainly within Mainland China)
• Requires proficient English reading and writing skills.

Preferred qualifications:

• Relevant industry experience with POS terminals, electronic payment devices, or consumer electronics;
• Familiar with electronic manufacturing reliability testing requirements, such as high/low temperature cycling, damp heat aging, etc.;
• Experience participating in customer audits or third-party laboratory audits is a plus.
• Experience in establishing a reliability lab or FA lab.

Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the analysis and evaluation of power battery cell selection, structural materials and product structure design scheme according to customer SOR

• Responsible for the schematic design of power battery PACK battery system and modules, detailed design of 3D digital model and 2D drawings

• Responsible for the safety and reliability design of power battery PACK battery system and module level

• Systematically analyzed the problems found in trial production, mass production and user feedback, and put forward improvement suggestions

• Responsible for sample sending and making, processing progress tracking, sample confirmation, etc.

• Responsible for testing and verification of Pack system and parts, design optimization according to regulations or customer requirements, and structural improvement for mass production

• Prepare design specifications and patents

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above, major in electrochemistry, Vehicle engineering, Mechatronics, polymer materials, Electrical engineering, automation, etc

• More than 3 years of experience in power battery PACK structure design, experience in product G&D drawing, dimension chain analysis, ability to independently design pack battery system structure, independent structural strength simulation ability is preferred

• Experience in composite material structure design and structural airworthiness verification of aircraft is preferred

• Familiar with battery electrical related professional knowledge, battery selection and testing experience is preferred

• Familiar with the characteristics and application range of metal materials and plastic materials, proficient in injection molding process, sheet metal processing process, surface treatment, etc., skilled in Solidworks, CATIA, UG and other design software

• Able to read and write in English

Thermal Runaway Protection Engineer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for simulation analysis and optimization design of power battery modules and system thermal runaway, thermal diffusion and exhaust

• Responsible for the mining and application of new technologies, new materials and new processes for thermal runaway protection of battery packs and modules

• Responsible for the development and optimization design of protective parts and materials for thermal runaway of battery packs and modules, to ensure that the thermal design can meet the needs of thermal runaway and thermal diffusion

• Responsible for the simulation analysis and optimization design of battery pack system and module thermal management

• Responsible for the design of power battery thermal safety related products, analysis of advantages and disadvantages of schemes, and verification of technical solutions

• Responsible for the preparation of technical plans for thermal management and the output of relevant technical documents

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Power Engineering, thermal engineering, fluid mechanics, vehicle engineering, machinery or related field

• 3 years or above experience in system design and simulation analysis of battery thermal management components, proficient in structural simulation or fluid simulation tools (Fluent, CFX, Star CCM+, etc.), capable of relevant simulation work

• Familiar with the development of thermal management-related components, such as heat exchanger (liquid cooling plate), pipeline, heating components, sensors, fire insulation materials and other thermal management components design, selection and application experience

• Independent and high quality project completion experience, foreign project experience is preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall system performance of SiC CVD products at our customers to achieve high customer satisfaction.
• Resolve customer issues. Find containments fast, then drive structural solution and implementation.
• Responsible for IQ performance and improvement of released products.
• Collect and Analyze and report system performance data and define improvement plants.
• Lead a team of peers for problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Support customer SiC CVD hardware development (both new development and CIP - continuous improvement projects)
• Drive ASM SOP’s and protocol, able to guide co-workers on One COMM (FSM/Fiori), PCP, PDP, change request, NC, FA, CIP, clear technical input in CCB
• Maintain and enhances procedures and documents checklists and best-known methods for service, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Work responsibly with all ASM resources and departments in a multifunctional and high paced atmosphere independent of supervision on highly complex problems
• Consistently provide fast, quality solutions to field and customer personnel and create new BKM’s through a documented procedure.
• Explain highly technical and complex information to peers, management, and customers both in verbal or written mediums.

Travel

Education

• Master’s or bachelor’s Degree in engineering discipline
• 5-10 years of related experience
• Native Chinese and fluent English in speaking and writing

Requirements Knowledge

• 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry including deposition experience in EPI, ALD, PEALD, and/or SiC 5 years’ experience with ASM specific toolsets is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (I.e. Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering)
• Very highly skilled in electrical and mechanical techniques and overall equipment system knowledge (HW / SW, Process)
• Utilize logical troubleshooting methodologies to diagnose problems
• Strong knowledge of Semiconductor disciplines, such as vacuum techniques, robot controllers, PLCs, mechanical and pneumatic valves, and statistical process control.
