Your role as a Manufacturing Engineer will be to support and drive improvement to our critical manufacturing functions. We have two sets of customers—our builders, who order parts through us, and our manufacturing partners, who manufacture and assemble these parts—and you’ll be consistently working at the interface between the two. At Fictiv, we believe in creating the world’s premier platform for hardware manufacturing, and you’ll be playing a critical role in making that happen.
In your role as the , you will be reviewing and analyzing the manufacturability and costs associated with fabrication (including CNC machining, injection molding, urethane casting, and other manufacturing processes) submitted by our builders. In this role, you’ll utilize your Mechanical Engineering background and knowledge of manufacturing processes to identify design changes that may be necessary to meet our builders' specifications.
You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Lead.

Impact in this Role
You will be responsible for scheduling work orders and act as a project engineer to address any in-process questions our manufacturers may raise, provide production status visibility to our builders, and mitigate major project risks that pose a threat to meeting our builders’ specifications. In your role as the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be reviewing and analyzing the manufacturability and costs associated with part fabrication (including die casting, Gravity casting,Forging and other manufacturing processes requiring tooling) and mechanical assembly. In this role, you’ll be using your Mechanical Engineering background, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and experience having brought mechanical components into high volume manufacturing to determine what design changes may need to be made to our builders’ design specifications in order to meet their needs and to very accurately price out the cost of fabricating a part. Ultimately, you’ll be working daily to use your technical expertise to provide pricing to builders and to assist in the development of pricing calculators and, ultimately, automation of pricing & DFM to reduce the time to quote for our builders and reduce overhead for our manufacturing partners.

The Job:
Lead the system-level hardware architecture, design, and development for 3D printers and post-processing devices.
Drive the selection and integration of core components: motion control, heating, sensors, and embedded systems.
Own the full hardware development cycle: prototyping, testing, validation, and DFM and cost.
Ensure all hardware meets performance, reliability, safety, and compliance standards.
Manage the hardware development timeline and collaborate closely with firmware, software, and manufacturing teams.
Build, mentor, and manage the hardware engineering team.
You:
Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of hands-on hardware development experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead or management role.
Proven track record of delivering complex electromechanical products to mass production. Experience with 3D printers, CNC, or robotics is a strong plus.
Strong expertise in areas such as motion control, thermal design, or embedded hardware.
Proficient in 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) and knowledgeable in manufacturing processes.
Excellent leadership and project management skills.
Good communication skills in English is preferred.

The Job:
Own the end-to-end software architecture for 3D printers and post-processing equipment, encompassing embedded firmware interfaces, device control, and application/cloud layers.
Lead the design and development of reliable, real-time control software for precise motion, thermal management, and sensor integration on Linux-based embedded systems.
Drive the development of user-facing software, including desktop applications, web interfaces, or mobile apps for device control, print management, and monitoring.
Establish and maintain software development best practices, including code architecture, testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation.
Collaborate closely with Hardware and Product teams to define system requirements and ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
Build, mentor, and manage the software engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Manage the software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, stable releases.
You:
Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of professional software development experience, with 2+ years in a technical leadership or team management role.
Strong expertise in C/C++ development for real-time or performance-critical systems, with proven experience in embedded Linux environments.
Experience with software architecture design for complex electromechanical devices (IoT, robotics, CNC, or 3D printers is a strong plus).
Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, Modbus) and hardware/software interfacing.
Experience with modern software practices (version control, code review, CI/CD, testing).
Knowledge of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or UI frameworks (Qt, React, etc.) is advantageous.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Good command of English is preferred.
