Impact In This Role
Your role as a Manufacturing Engineer will be to support and drive improvement to our critical manufacturing functions. We have two sets of customers—our builders, who order parts through us, and our manufacturing partners, who manufacture and assemble these parts—and you’ll be consistently working at the interface between the two. In your role as the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be reviewing and analyzing the manufacturability and costs associated with part fabrication (including die casting, Gravity casting,Forging and other manufacturing processes requiring tooling) and mechanical assembly. In this role, you’ll be using your Mechanical Engineering background, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and experience having brought mechanical components into high volume manufacturing to determine what design changes may need to be made to our builders’ design specifications in order to meet their needs and to very accurately price out the cost of fabricating a part. Ultimately, you’ll be working daily to use your technical expertise to provide pricing to builders and to assist in the development of pricing calculators and, ultimately, automation of pricing & DFM to reduce the time to quote for our builders and reduce overhead for our manufacturing partners.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Release Package Review – Analyze models, drawings, parts lists, and other data to determine scope of work, fabrication feasibility, cost to fabricate, and minimum lead time.
- Quoting – Combine your analysis with Fictiv’s software recommendations and feedback from our manufacturing partners to generate quotes for builders.
- DFM Feedback – Provides DFM feedback to builders, such as recommended design change to adapt the tooling manufacturing limitation.
- Platform development support – support the platform development of casting tooling, such as tooling calculator, material database, DFM tools on platform.
- Communication-communicate with US sales to support the part/tooling design solution and quote feedback if needed.
- Program support
-Lead the transition of customer programs from prototype and low-volume production (3D printing, CNC machining, soft tooling) to high-volume casting tooling, including part-level redesign, material and process selection, tolerance optimization, and tooling architecture definition to support scalable mass production.
Desired Traits
- Associate degree（Should）
- -At least 10 Years casting manufacturing working experience,(Must)
- -At least 6 years of Casting(gravity and die casting) experience.(Must)
- -Able to use NX/UG software, and able to analyze casting parts and modify the 3D file.(Must)
- -Able to use Magma or other similar software to do the analysis of metal mold flow.

In your role as the , you will be reviewing and analyzing the manufacturability and costs associated with fabrication (including CNC machining, injection molding, urethane casting, and other manufacturing processes) submitted by our builders. In this role, you’ll utilize your Mechanical Engineering background and knowledge of manufacturing processes to identify design changes that may be necessary to meet our builders' specifications.
You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Lead.
What You’ll Be Doing
- RFQ Preparation- review the request in each RFQ from the 3D drawing, 2D drawing, RFQ notes and other information, to clarify with Sales or manager if anything is not clear.
- Quoting – Combine your analysis with Fictiv’s MP’s feedback to provide the competitive price to each RFQs. and clarify the quote to the sales team if any question from them.
- DFM – Combine your analysis with Fictiv’s MP’s feedback to provide the manufacturing analysis. Such as tolerance, Radii, Unachievable features etc.and clarify the DFM to the sales team if any question from them.
- Tools development – Use your fabrication expertise and understanding of process cost drivers to develop cost calculators or related tools that allow for Fictiv to bring quoting in-house or to improve the efficiency of work.
Desired Traits
- 6+ years of manufacturing related work experience(Must)
- 3+ years Experience working with CNC machines, such as 3-, 4-, 5-axis mill, 2-axis and live-tooling lathe.(Must)
- 2+ years hands-on experience on generating quotations for customers. (this 2 years experience can be included in the item 2, which is 6+ years of related work experience)(Must)
- Understanding of GD&T and conventional (coordinate) tolerancing. (Must)
- Knowledge of different machining material, common finishing,secondary operation.(Should)
- Reading ,written English and Conversational skills required.(Must)
- Spoken English is a Bonus(better to have)
- Meticulous, detail oriented, inclination for documentation (Should)

This role is one that creates an amplifying effect for the US based Sales team, enabling them to devote more of their time and energy to customer visits. Fictiv is a fast-paced company and typically customers come to us with urgent needs. The ability to service our customers in a quick manner is a key to our company's success.
You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to produce a higher level of sales conversion rates.
You will report to the Costing and DFM team lead in Guangzhou.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support an American based business unit of account executives with management of mission critical administrative tasks including, but not limited to:
- Maintaining and updating customer design files in the Fictiv ERP and CRM systems,
- Maintaining the order information in Fictiv’s system
- Collaborate with US sales team and China costing & DFM team for the
- BOM management, File management, communication management etc
- Support some programs system management in the whole life cycle
- Support some system improvement project, collect the feedback from the engineers and provide that to the production team, follow up the project to the end.
- Providing customer coverage and quoting support for account executives when they are out of the office or otherwise indisposed
Desired Traits
- 1-3 years relevant experience(better to have)
- BS/BA degree preferred (better to have)
- Manufacturing or international logistic or international trade or English major educational background (should have)

In this role, you’ll also be using your Mechanical Engineering background and knowledge of manufacturing processes in order to determine what design changes may need to be made to our builders’ design specifications in order to meet their needs. By developing highly competitive proposals and quotations that meet the requirements called out by our customers, you will be assisting in bringing products to market faster in a wide range of industries (and helping to accelerate Fictiv’s growth)
You will report to the Costing and DFM lead.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Package review - Study the package provided by Sales to determine scope of work, manufacturing feasibility & Lead time details
- Should be able to define best suited manufacturing process, machine selection, cycle time calculations & setup costs
- Should be able to generate Should cost using in house calculators & Fictiv's software recommendations
- Manufacturing Partners quote scrutiny. To check whether the provided quote is correct in terms of optimized raw material, machining & secondary processes costs
- Should be able to negotiate with Manufacturing partners on quotes provided and get the best costs out to ensure a win win situation
- Should be able to understand secondary process eg Anodising, Zinc plating, Chemical conversion coatings with respect to their type, class, service class, methods etc
- Preparing RFQ package to Manufacturing Partners referring to capability & capacity plans
- Calculator Generations - Use own machining expertise & understanding of process cost drivers to develop cost calculators
- DFx Feedback - Should be able to study the 3D Model, 2D prints to determine the manufacturability of the part & highlight key points that involve a design change recommendation
- Automation Feedback - Provide feedback to Quoting SOftware team to improve accuracy of automated quoting of our manufacturing services
- Packaging costs - Should be able to develop packaging concept & provide the same to Logistics team for generating Shipping costs
- Follow up with Sales for Quoted RFQ's feedback on weekly basis & also provide feedback to Manufacturing partners about quoted RFQ's status
- Work with CFT in evaluating value deals for project management validation, project de risking, quality documentation
- Should be able to handle Assembly product structure
- Help clear technical queries during MP Quoting
- Maintaining reports for Opportunities quoted won/lost, conversion ratio etc
- Participate in Manufacturing Partners QBR with CFT to address cost issues, conversion ratios etc
