Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of projects across the Communications & Compliance organisation, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and to the required quality standards.
The role coordinates cross-functional teams, manages stakeholder expectations, and maintains clear governance, risk and issue management, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Combining delivery discipline with strong communication skills, the role plans and controls project activities, ensures dependencies are managed, and works closely with engineering, operations and customer stakeholders to deliver measurable business value.
The position plays a key role in improving delivery consistency by embedding effective ways of working, supporting planning and prioritisation, and driving continuous improvement across C&C.

Our Financial Crime Compliance team⭐
The Senior Fraud Compliance Manager is a critical 2nd Line of Defence position responsible for independently challenging and advising the business on its 1st Line fraud risk management activities. This role ensures Monzo maintains robust controls, operates within regulatory and legislative requirements, and effectively manages its fraud exposure. The successful candidate will leverage their deep understanding of fraud risk, regulation, and data analysis to drive best practices and provide assurance to senior management and the Board.
🔑You’ll play a key role by...
Independent Assurance and Challenge (2nd Line of Defence):
Act as a subject matter expert and independent challenger to the 1st Line of Defence (e.g., Fraud Operations, Product Teams) on the design, implementation, and effectiveness of their fraud controls, policies, and procedures.
Provide robust and practical advice on fraud risk management to ensure adherence to internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
Develop and execute an annual assurance plan, conducting targeted reviews and deep-dives into key fraud risk areas and control effectiveness.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of 1st Line remediation efforts following internal and external audit findings or regulatory issues.
Regulatory and Legislative Compliance:
Maintain an excellent and up-to-date understanding of relevant fraud legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, providing expert advice on their impact. Including:
Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2), particularly requirements around Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) and transaction monitoring.
Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) Authorised Push Payment Reimbursement regime.
Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules and guidance on financial crime, fraud reporting, and consumer protection.
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance, in so far as it relates to card fraud prevention.
AML/CTF legislation, where it intersects with fraud typologies (e.g., money mule activity facilitated by fraud).
Relevant elements of data protection legislation (e.g., GDPR) concerning the use and sharing of customer data for fraud prevention.
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
Analyse complex fraud performance data, including loss rates, control effectiveness metrics, and emerging fraud trends, to identify systemic weaknesses.
Evaluate the performance and tuning of fraud detection rules, models, and systems, providing independent validation and recommendations for optimisation.
Produce high-quality, impactful reports for senior stakeholders (e.g., Risk Committees, Executive Management) outlining the current fraud risk profile, control gaps, and progress against strategic assurance objectives.

Skills and Experience Required:
Demonstrable experience in assessing fraud risks and recommending mitigating strategies.
Excellent working knowledge of global/regional fraud legislation and regulatory expectations (as exemplified above).

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex risks to technical and non-technical audiences.

We’re looking for a brilliant Financial Crime Business Banking Senior Manager to drive forward our strategy for Monzo’s Business Bank. You’ll manage a fantastic group of FinCrime Analysts working in cross-functional teams to build and iterate controls, maximising financial crime prevention while delivering best in class customer experience.
We need someone who really understands the Financial Crime regulatory framework, products and crime typologies for Business Banking, and has expert knowledge in how to develop controls to ensure Monzo remains compliant and can most effectively detect and prevent all types of Financial Crime. You’ll be an exceptional stakeholder manager, bringing others along on a journey to deliver huge impact. You’ll be an incredible people manager who cares deeply about people development and coaching. You should know that we fight Financial Crime a little differently at Monzo. About the role..

The Role
We're looking for a (Junior) CRM & Communications Officer to join our Marketing team in Cardiff. This is a more junior role for someone who wants to learn how modern marketing actually works, with the chance to work on campaigns going out to hundreds of thousands of real customers.

Quality Assurance/Customer Operations 🚀
Our QA team is responsible for assessing the quality of the work that’s happening across Customer Operations. You’ll look at deep-dive technical audits of complex investigative cases and operational tasks. You’ll also deliver feedback to people across the business and give them development points to help ensure our customer experience remains fantastic!
What You’ll Be Doing 🗃️
We are looking for analytical specialists who can bring deep subject matter expertise to our control environment. In particular, we are looking for someone with expertise in Disputes & Transaction Claims. You’ll have a technical understanding of Card Scheme rules (Visa/Mastercard), and you know how to audit Transaction Disputes (APP scams, Chargebacks, and Section 75 claims) to ensure a fair and evidenced outcome.

What You’ll Be Doing 🗃️
We are looking for analytical specialists who can bring deep subject matter expertise to our control environment. In particular, we are looking for someone with expertise in Financial Crime & AML: You have experience auditing or investigating AML alerts, KYC/EDD files, and Sanctions screening, with a firm grasp of the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) and suspicious activity reporting (SAR).
Your mission is to ensure that every alert and SAR (Suspicious Activity Report) is handled with the highest level of integrity and technical accuracy. You will ensure our outcomes align strictly with FCA regulatory standards and the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
