What You'll Do

• Own the end-to-end resolution of complex, high-impact customer issues, including deep technical investigation, root cause analysis, and validation of fixes
• Act as a key liaison between customers, support, engineering, and product teams to drive timely resolution and ensure alignment across stakeholders
• Translate customer issues and recurring patterns into actionable insights, including well-defined feature requests and product improvement recommendations
• Partner with product management and engineering to influence roadmap priorities, improve product stability, and enhance overall customer experience
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, web-based SaaS applications, contributing across the full stack—from system architecture and data design to implementation, testing, and performance optimization
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure solutions meet standards for scalability, reliability, and usability in a multi-tenant SaaS environment
• Research, evaluate, and apply new and emerging technologies to continuously improve product capabilities and engineering efficiency
• Serve as a subject matter expert for internal teams and customers, providing deep technical guidance and mentorship

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale applications
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and system-level concepts (memory, storage, file systems)
• Solid experience with object-oriented design and modern architectural patterns (e.g., Domain-Driven Design)
• Deep expertise in the .NET ecosystem, including C#, ASP.NET Core, and modern backend architecture
• Experience building and operating multi-tenant SaaS platforms, with strong proficiency in EF Core, PostgreSQL, and query optimization
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., RDS, Lambda, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch) in production environments
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize system performance
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve engineering efficiency
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Self-motivated and able to operate independently while collaborating across teams

What We Offer

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between CAD $130,000 - CAD $148,000 plus potential bonus. The actual salary may vary based on a range of factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.

This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s unique game development studio in Oakville, ON. 

WHAT WE DO 

• The Rockstar Games Online Services team creates connected experiences that are found across our game franchises.
• We architect and maintain high-impact features to support the development of the Rockstar community and websites.
• We create innovative in-game experiences, including user-generated content.
• We build services and tools that support our consumer-facing experiences and our internal business needs. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Development of accessible front-end components and applications using React.
• Integrating front-end applications with Next.js and ASP.NET Core (C#).
• Develop comprehensive test suites.
• Web performance optimization.
• Collaboration with other Rockstar technology teams across our worldwide studios. 

REQUIREMENTS

• A degree in computer science or 5+ years of experience in professional web development.
• 5+ years of experience using React.
• 5+ years of experience using Node.js or C#. 
• Extensive experience in accessible web development.
• Ability to effectively facilitate communication with teams in various locations worldwide.
• Experience with automated testing, shared code, and source control, preferably Git.
• Knowledge of Agile, software development, and web-security best practices.
• Passion for web technologies and a desire to remain up to date with the latest technologies.

About the Role:

As a member of the Smart Roadside team, your mission will be to create and enhance Drivewyze applications to meet the current and future needs of our customers as part of a talented team of Software Developers, QA, Product Managers, and other internal partners.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be involved in maintaining and expanding existing applications, plus design and developing of new applications, building on, and expanding the Drivewyze ecosystem to meet current requirements and addressing future challenges we don’t even know about yet. • Lead and mentor a small engineering team, setting technical direction and elevating engineering practices.
