Cloud Engineer is a key role as this will automate, evolve, and establish a scalable cloud platform across the company optimizing for self-service and governance. The role will work with both Cloud Native platforms Azure and AWS, leverage tools like Kubernetes (AKS), and Cloud Hosting providers offerings like IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS ensuring consistent experience and high standards are established.

The expected base salary range for this position is $64,500 - $114,500. Staff Security Infrastructure Engineer, Red Team
Within the Product Security team, our Red Team delivers robust security assurance for Okta's products, services, and infrastructure. You will be the team's dedicated infrastructure and tooling engineer, the first person in this role for a small team of operators. You will work alongside operators but not report through an operator chain; you'll collaborate as a peer focused on a different discipline.
We seek a Staff Security Infrastructure Engineer to own the engineering backbone that enables our operations. This is not a traditional operator role but a dedicated infrastructure, tooling, and automation engineering position embedded within the Red Team. You will design, build, maintain, and continuously improve the platforms, infrastructure, and custom tooling that our operators depend on to execute engagements.
Your work directly enables the team to operate at a higher maturity level: faster infrastructure deployment, more resilient and OPSEC-aware architecture, automated workflows, and reliable custom tooling, freeing operators to focus on the mission. Your role will also extend to cultivating stakeholder collaboration and elevating our company’s security posture through strategic engagement and proactive measures. As the team matures, this role can evolve toward platform leadership, custom capability development, or a hybrid operator/engineer path.

You'll join the Dedicated team as a Site Reliability Engineer focused on Environment Automation, where your work will help power hundreds of isolated GitLab environments for our customers. In this role, you'll help keep these environments reliable, scalable, secure, and consistent by treating everything as code and contributing to automation across the entire lifecycle, from initial provisioning to day-to-day operations. Instead of operating a single platform, you'll collaborate with senior SREs to solve the unique challenges of managing many tenant environments in parallel, each with its own constraints and integration points.
You'll help define, deploy, and maintain GitLab environments across cloud providers using infrastructure as code, deployment packages, and Kubernetes. We are responsible for building, running, and evolving the entire lifecycle of the GitLab environments that power the GitLab Dedicated platform. 2+ years of people management or formal technical leadership experience, including setting direction, running 1:1s, and developing individual engineers.

5+ years of hands-on experience in endpoint engineering, client platform, or corporate IT engineering at scale — with a strong understanding of macOS device management (Jamf), MDM architecture, and endpoint security practices.
Exposure to compliance frameworks relevant to endpoint security (SOC 2, CIS Benchmarks, or similar).
2+ years of people management or formal technical leadership experience, including setting direction, running 1:1s, and developing individual engineers.
Demonstrated ability to build and run a program from scratch — establishing operating cadences, KPI frameworks, and prioritization processes where none previously existed.
Scripting and automation proficiency in Bash and at least one additional language (Python strongly preferred); comfort integrating with RESTful APIs (MDM, Okta, Google Workspace, etc.).

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Platform Engineering Team.
• Design, deliver, and continuously evolve the self-service IDP: CI/CD golden paths, IaC templates (Terraform/Ansible), Kubernetes abstractions, pre-configured environments, monitoring
integrations, code repository environment and cloud-resource abstractions for Rumble Cloud.
• Treat the IDP as a product: run user interviews with Development and Production Ops squads, maintain a public roadmap, and measure success by developer velocity metrics (e.g.,
deployment frequency, lead time).
• Embed secure development hygiene, AI-augmented workflows (with mandatory Human-in-theLoop), and Behavior-Driven Development practices into the platform tools.
• Collaborate with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team so the IDP itself is reliable in production (shared ownership model: Platform owns design & evolution; Site Reliability
Engineering (SRE) owns runtime reliability).
• Eliminate toil and duplication across products so cross-functional squads can self-serve deployments, scaling, and observability without reinventing infrastructure.
• Apply Theory of Constraints (TOC) to platform adoption bottlenecks and drive quarterly governance reviews with the Platform Steering Committee.
Required Qualifications
• Strong demonstrable experience building internal platforms or developer-experience tools at
scale.
• Strong background in Kubernetes, GitOps, Infrastructure-as-Code, and self-service portals.
• Product-management mindset (roadmap ownership, customer feedback loops).
• Experience integrating AI tools into engineering workflows while preserving human oversight.
• Familiarity with secure development hygiene (NIST 800-218).
