About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Operational Finance & Analytics to join our growing team. In this role, you will partner closely with executive leadership, finance, and operational teams to own the operational finance for our growing number of research sites and enterprise analytics capabilities of the company, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and governance of key metrics and a true single source of truth.

This role will play a critical part in building and scaling the company’s Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and implementing Adaptive Insights, leveraging these key systems to deliver reliable reporting and forecasting in order to support operational decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to drive significant impact as the company scales.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary finance partner to the operations team, linking financial performance to operational decisions
• Own site level financial reporting and analysis, with a view on margins, cost drivers, productivity, and performance by location
• Develop an advanced understanding of the business and work closely with the operational teams to develop, maintain and update reporting dashboards
• Define and maintain standardized financial metrics, documentation, and reconciliation processes to ensure a single source of truth
• Support the implementation and optimization of Adaptive Insights and the design, buildout and management of the Enterprise Data Warehouse

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in operational finance, FP&A, or finance-embedded BI roles within high-growth companies
• Demonstrated experience owning operational and financial metrics, reporting, and dashboards used by executives and operators
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and reconciliation to the general ledger
• Working knowledge of Adaptive Insights, modern BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.), and Enterprise Data Warehouses with the ability to partner effectively with data teams
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through ambiguous or imperfect data

This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who loves digging into data, building scalable reporting, and influencing strategy. You’ll work closely with Operations, Sales, and our Finance team to ensure leaders have the metrics and insights they need to grow efficiently.

About the Position

Dimagi is looking for a Data Engineer II to join our US Solutions Division. This position will be affiliated with our Cambridge, MA office but is open to remote employment within the United States. This is a 12-month fixed-term position with the possibility of renewal based on business requirements and mutual interest. 

The Data Engineer II will be part of Dimagi’s US Solutions Division Data & Analytics team, a group of engineers and data specialists responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving Dimagi’s Data Platform in support of current and future project work. The primary technologies used by the current data platform are Snowflake, Tableau, and various AWS cloud tools. In this role, you will contribute hands-on to the design, implementation, and operation of data pipelines, warehouse transformations, data visualizations, and supporting infrastructure, while working closely with technical leadership to ensure platform reliability, scalability, and alignment with business needs. The data systems you help build and maintain will directly support public health and human services programs, enabling frontline teams and government partners to deliver care and services more effectively.

This position is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work in a small, collaborative environment. As a member of a lean team, you will be expected to work across functional areas, adapt quickly to new problem spaces, and contribute meaningfully to data systems that support real-world service delivery and decision-making.  This role assumes comfort using AI-assisted tools to support analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, and learning in a complex technical environment.

Responsibilities 

• Contribute to the technical integrity and evolution of the Data Platform tech stack, working closely with other Data Engineers, the Director of Technology, and the USS Tech Lead.
• Design and implement core features and enhancements within the Data Platform, including contributing to technical specifications, conducting targeted technical research, and translating requirements into production-ready solutions.
• Responsible for executing and maintaining DevOps workflows supporting the Data Platform, including performance monitoring, platform upgrades, deployment frameworks, and operational improvements, with guidance and mentorship from more senior Data Engineers as needed.
• Use AI-assisted tools thoughtfully to accelerate development, debugging, documentation, and operational analysis, while understanding and validating outputs to ensure correctness, reliability, and security.
• Build and maintain robust data extraction, loading, and transformation processes for both Dimagi managed (i.e. CommCare) and external data sources, enabling efficient, reliable data pipelines and their long-term development and operation using both SQL and Python scripting.
• Design and develop data warehouse transformations, using SQL-based approaches and supplementary tools such as dbt.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on the design and implementation of enterprise data architectures based on industry standards and partner specific analytics needs.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses and support the development of business intelligence outputs, including dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and other tools.

The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following experience:

• 2–5 years of experience in data engineering or a similar technical role, with a proven track record of designing and evolving scalable data systems.
• Experience building maintainable, long-term technical solutions using software development best practices (version control, testing, and iterative development).
• Hands-on expertise in building and managing production-grade pipelines using ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Prefect, Fivetran, or Talend).
• Strong proficiency with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Snowflake, etc.) and a diverse range of data ingestion, processing, and storage technologies.
• Expert-level SQL for complex data engineering and analysis, paired with proficiency in Python and associated data-oriented toolkits.
• A deep understanding of dimensional modeling concepts ((e.g. OLAP cubes, star schemas, kimball architecture vs. alternatives like inmon)
• Proven ability to partner with technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver effective, end-to-end data solutions.
• Proficiency in using AI-assisted tools for code generation, debugging, and optimization, with the ability to rapidly adapt to new schemas and tools in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working "in the trenches" of production systems to test, iterate, and optimize operational workflows.

You'll design and maintain dimensional models, define and govern key business metrics, and ensure semantic consistency across our data stack — so that when someone asks "what does this number mean?", there's always a clear, reliable answer.

This is a high-impact IC role: you'll partner directly with stakeholders across Finance, Product, Marketing, Ad Sales, and Engineering to deeply understand their analytical needs and translate them into scalable, performant dbt models and data products. You'll also work closely with the data engineering side of the team to ensure the underlying infrastructure supports your modeling work, and with analysts and data scientists to make sure the data you deliver is easy to use, well-tested, and trustworthy.

The ideal candidate has strong opinions about how analytics engineering should be done — how to structure a dbt project, when to denormalize, how to manage slowly changing dimensions, how to build a metric layer that people actually trust — and the experience to back those opinions up.

• 8+ years of professional experience in analytics engineering, data modeling, or a closely related role, with significant hands-on experience building and maintaining production dbt projects or a similar data transformation tool
• Deep expertise in SQL and dbt, including advanced model design patterns (dimensional modeling, incremental models, slowly changing dimensions, and snapshot strategies)
• Experience developing in a BI tool that leverages semantic layers, such as Mode, Looker, Omni, SSAS Cubes, or similar
• Strong experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse, including performance tuning and cost optimization
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clean, well-structured data models that stakeholders trust and rely on
• Experience defining, governing, and maintaining business metrics and KPIs across an organization
• Strong communication skills — you can explain data modeling decisions to a VP of Finance just as clearly as to a fellow engineer
• A strong sense of ownership and quality: you care deeply about data accuracy, documentation, testing, and making the data stack better over time

An opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Operator within our Cambridge based Operations team. This role is responsible for delivering all aspects of an efficient end-to-end supply chain within Operations, including kit assembly, goods in/out, warehousing customer service and inventory management, whilst providing additional support to projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll be doing for us

To work as part of a team in executing tasks as directed by the Finished Goods Supervisor including, but not limited to, the following activities:  

• Final product assembly
• Maintain Dangerous Goods and Dry Ice certification
• Print and reconcile version-controlled documents and labels confidently and independently
• Monitor and maintain tock levels of materials and reagents within the kit assembly area, identify and raise order requisitions and/or material requests for replenishment
• Oversee and ensure the maintenance of cleanliness and organisation of the kit assembly and dispatch areas, bench areas and fridge/ freezers
• Raise Material Transfer Form requests to replace stock as necessary
• Assist with Materials Management tasks as directed, including the selection, and picking of warehouse items using the MRP system
• Assist, when required, with creating packing sheets, adding stock entries and keying orders into the SAGE accounting system
• Provide support across various Supply Chain functions including kit packing, dispatch, goods in processing and general warehouse operations
• Liaise with Customer Services to ensure customer orders are fulfilled, prepared and dispatched on time
• Execute and document tasks using approved ISO compliant documentation
• Adhere to procedures documented in the Cytocell quality system and ensuring that any non-compliance noted is reported in a timely manner using approved procedures
• Ensuring safety related issues are reported, including completion of relevant documentation
• Write and update SOP’s BMR’s and other documentation as required
• Working within the dispatch area, liaising within Customer Services to ensure customer orders are fulfilled, prepared and dispatched on time
• Pro-actively seek out and identify opportunities for process improvements and make recommendations to Supervisory Team
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive the sustainable agenda along the entire supply chain
• Collaborate with cross-functional scientific, laboratory and R&D teams that include a diverse range of personalities and skills.

To provide support to other areas of operation as required:

• Complete tasks as commensurate with the level and nature of the post as delegated by the Finished Goods Supervisor
• Assist when required with warehouse goods-in and material transfer processes and update inventory systems accordingly
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure warehouse inventory levels are optimized to meet manufacturing demand while minimizing carrying costs
• Identify and investigate any inventory discrepancies or issues and implement corrective actions.
