We’re looking for a collaborative, self-motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll help enable the broader engineering organization to do high-impact work by building and improving the infrastructure, tooling, and deployment systems they rely on every day. You’ll contribute to the development of standardized infrastructure and “paved paths” that make it easier to provision, deploy, and operate services reliably at scale.
You’ll collaborate closely with application engineering teams to ensure our container-based infrastructure is scalable, cost-efficient, and dependable across a wide range of workloads.
What You'll Do
- Partner with DevOps and application engineering teams to design and improve standardized infrastructure, deployment workflows, and CI/CD pipelines
- Build, operate, and continuously improve our containerized infrastructure, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Bring deep expertise in Kubernetes and its ecosystem, helping define best practices and support adoption across engineering teams
- Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure on AWS, including compute, networking, and storage systems
- Improve observability, monitoring, and incident readiness across production systems
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation (approximately 1 week every 5 weeks), responding to and resolving production incidents
- Mentor teammates and share knowledge to improve engineering practices and operational maturity across the organization
To Be Set Up for Success in This Role, You'll Need to Have
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
- Solid experience working with AWS (e.g., EKS, S3, IAM, RDS, VPC, Route53)
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, or Argo CD
- Experience working with containerized systems such as Docker and containerd
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices and modern approaches to securing infrastructure, including shift-left principles
- Experience operating and scaling high-traffic systems and large-scale data platforms in production environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to debugging and system design
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a distributed environment

Location Preferences

Travel & Team Engagement Expectations
This role requires up to 10% travel for team collaboration, customer engagements, and company events. As part of our commitment to building strong connections across our fully distributed team, attendance at our annual company offsite (typically held in Mexico) is expected.
Salary
The anticipated salary range for this role in Bulgaria is €26,000 – 31,000+ annually, depending on experience.
Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.

About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer (Mobile/Android) to take the lead in ensuring our global security products meet the highest bars of reliability. In this role, you won’t just run tests; you’ll architect and scale automation solutions for our VPN portfolio (HotspotShield, Betternet) and our flagship antivirus (UltraAV). We are agile, work quickly, and focus on outcomes. We trust our team to build the best solution to help us scale for the future.
Day to Day:
- Architect and evolve our Android automation framework (Espresso/Kakao-Cup) to support a growing portfolio of security products.
- Design sophisticated testing strategies for VPN-specific challenges, including network-dependent flows and testing under unstable or switching connection states.
- Work closely with developers and other QAs to troubleshoot and resolve issues, offering detailed bug reports.
- Uphold QA best practices and contribute to driving the QA strategy.
- Continuously explore new testing tools and methodologies to enhance the QA process.
What you bring to the table:
- At least 3 years of experience in automating UI tests for Android apps written in Kotlin
- Strong hands-on expertise with Espresso and Kakao-Cup, with the ability to test screens built in both Jetpack Compose and classic XML.
- Experience with Robolectric and Mockito for test infrastructure and mocking dependencies.
- You’re comfortable building and maintaining pipelines in CircleCI and using Bash/sh scripting for automation and result processing.
- Experience sharding and parallelizing tests using Flank, and configuring device matrices within Firebase Test Lab or similar emulators.
- An understanding of the specific challenges of testing VPN apps, such as network-dependent flows and handling connection-state flakiness.
- At least upper-intermediate level of spoken and written English
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience maintaining UI test suites across multiple apps in both mono- and multi-repo setups.
- High level of comfort with ADB, log analysis, and a working understanding of the Android build process via Gradle (Kotlin DSL).
- Experience testing A/B frameworks, including covering feature-flagged flows and variant-dependent UI.
- Familiarity with testing Google Play Billing integrations (subscriptions, purchase flows, and edge cases).
