What you’ll do:

• Design and build high-performance, scalable, message-driven services in Golang; built to handle real-world load.
• Write clean, production-grade code with serious test coverage.
• Collaborate with sharp engineers to challenge ideas, refine architectures, and ship better solutions faster.
• Build secure, resilient systems that hold up under pressure and scale without drama.
• Help evolve a modern microservices architecture that enables a seamless experience for developers and users.

Who you are:

• A well seasoned senior engineer who has built enterprise grade systems that are in production; bonus points for high traffic B2C/White-label products.
• You've been using Golang for at least 2+ years and have a true passion to drive adoption across the industry.
• Comfortable working with both relational and NoSQL databases and a strong understanding of APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and when each makes sense
• Hands-on experience with event-driven systems and message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ or SQS
• Familiar with AWS (EKS, DynamoDB, Secrets Manager) and not intimidated by cloud-native environments

About the team:

The AI & ML Products Development department is responsible for building the platform for ML Services products for IONOS Cloud customers, as well as other companies in the United Internet group.

Our most recent product development features integration of GenerativeAI foundational models, LLMs and others. We run foundational models on prem in our cloud, such as Meta’s Llama, Mistral or StableDiffusion and also VectorDBs and offer them via APIs to our cloud customers.

We are also working with classic ML models for Computer Vision,  NLP), audio/voice  processing & predictions.

Our team is working with technologies such as HugginFace frameworks, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, vLLM, notebooks, MLflow and others.

On the platform side, technologies: GoLang, Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Hibernate, SQL (PostgreSQL and MySQL) and NOSQL (Redis, MongoDB). 

We deploy everything to cloud-native Docker / Kubernetes environments, making use of GitHub + Actions, ArgoCD, Prometheus, and other modern cloud technologies.

We are looking for a Go Developer with Python knowledge to develop our AI Cloud platform, which provides GenAI and Machine Learning Services to customers in IONOS Cloud.

In this role, you will:

• Develop platform components, services and APIs, that integrate AI / ML services into our cloud products stack;
• Drive cloud-native implementation as part of a cross-functional team responsible for building our AI / ML platform that will provide AI-based products to our cloud customers, as well as internal clients and IONOS Group brands;
• Take part in all phases of development, maintenance and housekeeping of the platform;
• Work closely with Product Owners, Architects to define the best technical solutions that match our product vision;
• Collaborate with an international organization of software developers and AI enthusiasts.

We appreciate:

• Strong programming language in GO / Python, preferably more than one, and ecosystem knowledge with a 4+ years experience, or 7+ years for Senior level;
• Experience with cloud-native environments such as Docker, Kubernetes;
• Very good command of software design patterns and architectural concepts;
• Experience with building RESTful services;
• Ability to take on technical concepts and deliver solution for project initiatives;
• Microservice oriented architecture, performance and scalability concerns;
• Very good OOP and OOD experience;
• Experience with build tools and versioning systems, such as Git/GitHub/Gitlab, Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD or similar;
• Good written and verbal English skills. 

Would be a plus:

• Product-oriented development mindset and a responsible ownership attitude towards software components;
• Previous experience integration AI / ML related solutions;
• Strong understanding of systems resilience, concurrency, and scalability concerns;
• Full-stack development skills are appreciated;
• Knowledge of Machine Learning technologies, working with data and ML models;

Role Overview

We are looking for a software engineer to join our AI-Ops team as part of a rapidly evolving Network Automation project. This role focuses on building and operating production-grade services using Python, with exposure to Golang, in a distributed microservices environment leveraging technologies such as Kafka and Pulsar. If you enjoy solving complex operational problems, taking end-to-end ownership, and working close to real network systems, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Python. Ensure these services are robust, secure, and capable of handling high data traffic volumes.
• Continuously monitor and improve the performance of microservices and data pipelines. This includes load testing, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions for scalability. 
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, System Architects, Data Engineers, and Product Managers, to align development with business goals. 
• Take end-to-end ownership of services, from design and implementation through testing and deployment.
• Design and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, and system-level) to ensure reliability and long-term maintainability.
• Contribute to infrastructure and deployment automation, working closely with DevOps practices and tools to ensure services are observable, resilient, and production-ready.
• Maintain high-quality documentation for all code, adhere to coding standards, and promote best practices within the team. 
• Stay updated with the latest in Python, microservices, AI, and messaging technologies. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance our AI-Ops capabilities.

Requirements

Must Have:

• 3-5 years of experience in software development. 
• Solid Python programming skills with a deep understanding of frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django. 
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, understanding of data modeling, and efficient query optimization. 
• Strong experience in developing and managing microservices architecture, with a focus on scalability, fault tolerance, and distributed systems.
• Experience taking ownership of services in production, including testing, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Working knowledge of computer networking fundamentals, including IP networking, routing, and troubleshooting in distributed systems.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with data stream processing pipelines and data analytics.
• Strong background in computer networking, including advanced routing and switching concepts (e.g., CCNP-level knowledge or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration. 
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub actions or K8s Helm charts. 
• Experience with Golang programming language or willingness to learn and contribute to Go-based services.

About the role:

At Cresta, the Voice Platform team is on a mission to transform real-time voice infrastructure and contact center automation through AI-powered backend systems. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Voice Platform team, you’ll be responsible for designing, scaling, and operating the distributed services that power Cresta’s voice ecosystem.
You’ll drive major initiatives in areas such as SIP and WebRTC support, multilingual and translation pipelines, and real-time conversation intelligence. This role requires strong technical leadership, a passion for building reliable distributed systems, and the ability to collaborate across engineering and product teams to bring innovative features into production.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of scalable, distributed backend microservices in Golang (with some Python for AI-related services).
• Own and evolve voice platform integrations with large-scale enterprise communication and contact center systems.
• Drive initiatives to expand platform capabilities, including bi-directional SIP, WebRTC integrations, multilingual support, advanced transcription, and real-time translation.
• Build systems that power conversation intelligence for both remote and in-person interactions.
• Improve observability, reliability, and self-service troubleshooting across the platform.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and resilience of real-time voice pipelines running in the cloud.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ML, product, solution architects) to design end-to-end solutions for customer deployments.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and best practices to other engineers on the team.

Qualifications We Value:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in backend system development, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure.
• Expertise in Go (or a similar systems language) with strong API and service design skills.
• Proven experience with scalable architectures using microservices, workflow orchestration, distributed caching, and cloud databases.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of networking, real-time communication protocols, and cloud security best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects from design through production.
• Bonus: experience with voice systems, telephony, or real-time media platforms
