About the role

As a Staff Software Engineer (SDK), you will own platform live ops features and apply your creativity throughout the entire development lifecycle - from initial design to live game support. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality game client features and reusable components, helping to accelerate development across Fortis Games. In this role, you will also provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to other engineers.

Role expectations:

Front-end:

• Develop great front-end features, rich in interactions, scalable and maintainable, using ReactJS, Angular or VueJS;
• Design and create data fetching and state management systems on the front-end using Flux, Redux, or Mobx (but if you are familiar with another tool that may do a great job with that, bring it on);
• Partner up with our Product Designers to iterate, validate and improve the design of our product;
• Write unit tests to detect and prevent any changes that may break the design contract;
• Focus on cross-browser development, deploying the same user experience for a wide range of browsers, even those not chromium-based.

Back-end:

• Develop and maintain well-designed back-end services, easy to scale and maintain, secure and robust, using NodeJS, Go (Golang), or Python;
• Design, implement and maintain scalable REST APIs, secure and reliable that can be consumed by either mobile and web applications;
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain back-end applications, aim for top performance, security, and scalable infrastructure, using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud .

General

• Define and implement a fit usage of GitFlow, using either GitHub, GitLab, or any other git repository;
• Design and build readable code, well-defined architecture, following the OOP pillars: Encapsulation, Data Abstraction, Polymorphism, and Inheritance (hey, Functional Programmers, feel free to join as well. We’d love to level our products with some FP);
• Architect, design, and implement databases, either relational and non-relational, using Microsoft SQL SERVER, MySql, MariaDB, MongoDB, Cassandra or any other available database;
• Participate in the hiring process for your chapter by doing tech interviews, helping the company to hire more talented people like you;
• Engage in English meetings with our clients, helping them identify better approaches and solutions, sustain opinions on complex conversations to negotiate and estimate deadlines.

About the role

As a Sr. Software Engineer on the QA Automation Tools team, you will drive initiatives that enable our QA and development teams to move faster and ship with greater confidence. Embedded with the development team,  you'll architect scalable automation solutions for a live multiplayer game where dynamic content — character customizations, ability interactions, and procedurally generated scenarios — creates a testing surface that requires adaptive, not static, strategies.

Agentic development is a core part of how this role operates, not an aspiration. You'll integrate AI-assisted workflows from day one, using coding agents to accelerate test creation, debugging, and code review while maintaining the engineering judgment to steer, verify, and override. You'll work directly with developers to influence how systems are built for testability, and communicate your decisions clearly enough that other engineers can carry the work forward.

What you’ll achieve

• Design adaptive test automation for dynamic game content — character customization, map scenarios, and procedurally generated content (PGC) — using approaches that stay valid as content evolves without requiring manual test plan rewrites
• Propose game engineering changes that improve testability: test hooks in generation tools, game data structures that support combinatorial testing, metadata that enables bot automation

About the Role: 

We are seeking a technically strong, hands-on Senior Database Reliability Engineer to help design, build, and scale the database platform used across Sezzle’s applications.

This is not a traditional DBA role. This role is for an engineer who can combine deep database knowledge with software engineering, infrastructure engineering, and platform thinking. You will help build the systems, libraries, automation, standards, and guardrails that make database usage across Sezzle reliable, secure, scalable, and easy for developers to adopt correctly.

As a Senior Database Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for improving how Sezzle applications connect to, migrate, operate, observe, and scale their databases. You will work across application teams, infrastructure, security, and engineering leadership to define patterns that improve database reliability by design — not just by operational response.

• Investigate production database issues by combining application telemetry, database metrics, logs, query plans, traces, and cloud infrastructure data.
• Identify and fix systemic database problems, not just symptoms — including bad access patterns, unsafe migrations, inefficient queries, connection storms, lock contention, replication lag, and capacity bottlenecks.
• Create and maintain high-signal dashboards, alerts, SLOs, SLIs, runbooks, and operational readiness checks for database-backed services.
• Drive improvements in database backup validation, restore testing, disaster recovery, failover readiness, and business continuity.
• Work with security and compliance teams to improve database access controls, auditability, encryption, secrets management, least privilege, and PCI/SOC 2 aligned controls.
• Mentor engineers on database design, query performance, safe migrations, operational readiness, and production debugging.
• Use automation and AI tooling where appropriate to improve migration review, query analysis, incident investigation, documentation, and developer productivity.

What We look for: 

• 6+ years of professional software engineering, infrastructure engineering, database engineering, SRE, or platform engineering experience.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and enhance fullstack applications, with a primary focus on frontend development using Vue.js and supporting backend services in Python
• Build modern, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces, prioritizing usability, accessibility, and overall user experience
• Translate business and functional requirements into scalable, user-friendly digital solutions
• Develop reusable components and maintain frontend architecture aligned with performance and maintainability best practices
• Integrate frontend applications with APIs and backend services, ensuring seamless and reliable interactions
• Contribute to data and AI-driven initiatives by building interfaces and workflows that simplify user interaction with analytical solutions
• Ensure high-quality deliverables, focusing on performance, resilience, security, and engineering standards
• Collaborate closely with product, business, and technology stakeholders in agile environments

What You Bring

• Strong hands-on experience with Vue.js (preferably Vue 3) and modern frontend development practices
• Proven experience designing and building user-friendly, responsive, and high-performance applications
• Solid understanding of usability, accessibility, and frontend architecture best practices
• Experience with Python for backend development (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of relational and/or non-relational databases
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Nice to have

• Experience developing digital products in financial institutions or fintechs
• Exposure to UX/UI principles and product-oriented engineering practices
• Experience integrating frontend solutions with data or Artificial Intelligence platforms
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines

• Design, develop, and enhance backend applications using Java, focusing on performance, scalability, and resilience
• Build and maintain microservices using Spring Boot and Quarkus
• Support integrations and customizations related to the Nasdaq Calypso ecosystem
• Develop event-driven solutions leveraging AWS components
• Work with distributed architectures using SQS, SNS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway
• Implement and evolve observability practices, including logs, metrics, and tracing
• Participate in architecture discussions, code quality initiatives, and technical decision-making
• Contribute to automation, continuous improvement, and engineering efficiency
• Apply AI-enabled development tools where relevant to improve productivity and delivery quality

What You Bring

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering with a backend focus
• Strong proficiency in Java
• Solid hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Quarkus
