Beacon Biosignals is seeking an experienced sr. neuroscientist/data scientist to serve as a scientific partner to Beacon’s Life Science customers, working directly with pharmaceutical and biotechnology teams to analyze clinical trial data and extract meaningful insights using Beacon’s devices and AI/ML models. In this customer-facing role, you'll be embedded in active client engagements, helping translate complex neural data into scientifically rigorous, decision-relevant results that inform drug development programs across neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders.
As a member of Beacon’s Data Science Group, you will design and execute analyses on real-world and clinical trial EEG data, applying statistical, computational, and neuroscientific expertise. You will work closely with customer scientists, clinicians, and program leaders—leading scientific discussions, presenting results, and iterating collaboratively as studies evolve.
You will also act as a critical bridge between customers and Beacon’s other internal teams. By deeply understanding customer goals, constraints, and feedback, you will help shape analytical approaches, influence product and model development, and ensure Beacon’s technology continues to meet the needs of real-world clinical programs.

- Lead and support the scientific and technical aspects of multiple concurrent studies, including timeline estimation, task delegation, timely execution, and stakeholder communication
- Engage with external stakeholders to align their needs with internal capabilities and capacities to ensure analyses bring maximal value while remaining operationally feasible
- Deliver clear and impactful presentations and data visualizations to varied audiences, both internal and external
- Leverage Beacon's products and your own subject matter expertise to inform analysis planning and execution
- Write and review reusable, documented, tested code that produces polished, high quality analytical results for our partners and powers our core computational pipelines
- Contribute to statistical analysis plans for clinical trials in collaboration with internal subject matter experts and external stakeholders
- Co-author scientific reports whose impact pushes the field past contemporary limitations
- Dig into large, messy, unfamiliar datasets, document their idiosyncrasies and provenance, and harmonize them with Beacon's Datastore
- You've spent multiple years using your expertise in neuroscience and statistics to analyze data, draw insights, and answer scientific questions for stakeholders

This role is ideal for engineers with 2–3 years of experience who are excited to work close to hardware with modern embedded firmware architectures and integrate with a growing ecosystem of third‑party devices used in security and smart home applications.
You will contribute to the development and maintenance of embedded firmware running on resource‑constrained devices, with a strong focus on integrating security panels, sensors, and other third‑party peripherals. You’ll also help evolve our firmware platforms toward more modern real‑time operating systems such as Zephyr, improving reliability, scalability, and maintainability across our device portfolio. What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for connected security and cellular IoT devices
- Integrate and validate third‑party devices such as security panels, sensors, and peripheral modules
- Contribute to the transition of existing firmware architectures to modern RTOS‑based platforms
- Implement and maintain device drivers, communication stacks, and application‑level logic

What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years of professional experience developing embedded firmware in C/C++
- Experience working on microcontroller‑based systems in a production environment
- Familiarity with RTOS concepts such as tasks, scheduling, synchronization, and memory management
- Experience integrating external devices or peripherals using common interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, etc.)
- Strong debugging skills and comfort working with hardware tools (JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes)
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross‑functional engineering teams
Nice to Have
- Hands‑on experience with FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar real‑time operating systems

QuEra Computing Inc. is building the world's most scalable quantum computers using neutral-atom technology. Based in Boston and founded by the pioneers of neutral-atom quantum platforms at Harvard and MIT, QuEra is developing quantum computers that push the boundaries of what is computationally possible — from materials science and drug discovery to machine learning.
QuEra is seeking a Scientific Software Engineer to develop and maintain our in-house quantum hardware emulator and support application research building on top of and utilizing the emulation toolchain. In this role, you will implement high-performance quantum circuit simulation backends, build tooling that enables researchers to rapidly prototype and validate quantum algorithms, and contribute to the software infrastructure that bridges our hardware capabilities with real-world applications.
This role sits at the intersection of scientific computing and quantum application development. You will help shape the emulation layer that underpins algorithm design, hardware benchmarking, and customer-facing demonstrations — providing researchers, both internal and external, a faithful, fast model of QuEra’s quantum processors.
You will work closely with application scientists, experimental scientists, and the compiler team, collaborating on topics from noise modeling and Hamiltonian simulation to algorithm co-design for neutral-atom architectures.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and optimize core components of QuEra's in-house quantum hardware emulator, including state-vector, tensor-network, and pulse-level simulation backends.
- Write performance-critical code in Rust, C++, and/or CUDA to run large-scale simulations on GPU clusters and HPC infrastructure.
- Collaborate with application researchers to prototype, validate, and refine quantum algorithms targeting near-term and future neutral-atom hardware.
- Support noise modeling and hardware-faithful emulation by working with the hardware and calibration teams to incorporate realistic device parameters into the emulators.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and documentation to maintain code quality and reproducibility across the emulation stack.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of computational quantum many-body physics, with experience in one or more of: tensor networks, ZX calculus, Pauli propagation, or stabilizer simulation.
- Proficiency in at least one of: Julia, Rust, C++, or CUDA, with demonstrated ability to write well-structured, testable scientific software.
- Strong practical experience of the full software development lifecycle, including version control, code review, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
- Familiarity with high-performance computing concepts: MPI/OpenMP parallelism, GPU programming, memory hierarchy optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working at the intersection of physics and software engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience collaborating with algorithmic research or quantum information theory groups, with the ability to translate research insights into software requirements and implementations.
- Practical hands-on exposure to tensor-network libraries (ITensor, TensorNetwork, QUIMB, etc.) or quantum many-body simulation tools.
- Experience with GPU-accelerated numerical computing (CUDA, cuQuantum, ROCm, or similar).
- Familiarity with profiling and benchmarking tools (perf, NVIDIA Nsight, VTune, or equivalent).
- Strong track record of contributions to open-source scientific or quantum computing projects.
- Experience with containerized workflows (Docker/Singularity) and job schedulers (Slurm) in HPC environments.
- Familiarity with neutral-atom quantum computing architectures and digital quantum simulation.
The approximate base salary range for this position is $120.000.00 - $202,000.00.

About the Team
This role sits at the intersection of two strategically important areas of Alarm.com’s engineering organization: Strategic Partner eXcellence (SPX) and Device Platform.
SPX helps drive the technical and operational success of Alarm.com’s highest-value SaaS partnerships. The team supports complex partner launches, builds shared partner-facing platform capabilities, and establishes repeatable onboarding, operational readiness, and reliability patterns that can scale across future integrations.
Device Platform builds and evolves foundational platform capabilities used across Alarm.com’s connected device ecosystem. This includes shared domains such as Device APIs and Device Lifecycle Management, as well as broader platform modernization efforts that move device-oriented systems toward clearer domain ownership, API-first design, event-driven architectures, and more independently deployable services.
This role will initially lead two closely aligned delivery teams—one focused on SPX and one focused on Device Platform—together comprising approximately 6–8 software engineers. Each team has its own domain focus, roadmap, and stakeholder set, while also collaborating heavily on shared platform capabilities, operational expectations, and cross-team delivery. As the charter grows, these teams are expected to evolve in structure and scope over time.
The Role
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a broad portfolio of engineering work spanning strategic partner platform capabilities and shared device platform domains.
This is a senior-level engineering leadership role with broad scope across two distinct but highly connected areas of responsibility. You will balance parallel workstreams across partner-facing platform delivery and internal shared-platform evolution, helping align priorities, staffing, execution, and technical direction across adjacent domains.
You will manage software engineers across a varied experience spectrum. Success in this role requires strong people leadership, technical fluency, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to operate effectively across ambiguity. You will work closely with Architects, Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, QE, Ops, and peer engineering leaders to deliver reliable systems, strengthen engineering practices, and build team structures and operating rhythms that can scale with the organization’s growth.
What You’ll Do
- Lead two closely aligned delivery teams supporting SPX and Device Platform, each with its own roadmap, stakeholders, and delivery commitments.
- Manage software engineers across a varied experience spectrum, including early-career engineers, experienced engineers, and technical leaders. Balance staffing, prioritization, and execution across overlapping partner-facing and shared-platform workstreams.
- Partner with architects and technical leaders on platform direction for APIs, event-driven systems, distributed services, and domain-aligned modernization.
- Build team structures, operating rhythms, and delivery practices that support current execution while preparing the organization for future scale. Ensure teams deliver systems that are production-ready, observable, supportable, and reliable for both internal consumers and external partners. Work closely with Product, QE, Ops, Support, and peer engineering leaders to align technical execution with customer, partner, and business outcomes.
- Drive execution across complex initiatives with cross-team dependencies, ambiguous boundaries, and shared ownership concerns.
- Build repeatable platform patterns, delivery practices, and integration approaches that reduce one-off work and improve long-term scalability. Support hiring, team growth, and organizational planning in a way that strengthens technical depth, ownership, and long-term health.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience leading engineering teams.
- Experience managing backend or platform-oriented software engineers across multiple workstreams, priorities, or domains.
- Demonstrated success supporting engineers across a wide range of experience levels, including newer engineers and experienced technical leaders.
- Strong technical foundation in backend or platform engineering, including APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures. In this role, you will develop detailed physics-based models of key sub-components that constitute a neutral atom quantum computer, to characterize and enhance their performance. In this role, you will define the technical direction for circuit-level QEC compilation, mentor and lead a team of engineers, and drive the architecture of our error-corrected quantum compiler pipeline built on Kirin — QuEra's in-house SSA-based compiler infrastructure featuring an MLIR-inspired dialect design with multi-stage programming capabilities. You will work at the boundary between high-level error-corrected circuit representations and lower-level compilation stages such as atom shuttling and pulse programming, collaborating closely with hardware, theory, and systems teams to deliver a production-quality QEC software stack for neutral-atom quantum processors.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of QuEra's quantum error correction (QEC) software stack, spanning from logical circuit descriptions through syndrome extraction, decoding, and physical operation scheduling.
- Define the software architecture for circuit-level QEC compilation, including code selection, magic state generation scheduling, logical gate synthesis, fault-tolerant circuit transformations, and decoder development.
- Mentor and lead a team of engineers and cross-functional contributors in building a cohesive, well-tested QEC software stack.
- Collaborate with teams responsible for lower-level compiler stages — atom shuttling optimization, zoned architecture layout, and pulse-level programming — to ensure seamless integration across the full compilation pipeline and real time decoding.
- Collaborate with QEC scientists on research topics, such as hardware-efficient error correction, logical gate protocols, and decoding algorithms, contributing to research publications and quantum hardware demonstrations, and turn new research outputs into QEC software requirements and implementations.
- Drive technical decisions on intermediate representations, analysis passes, and optimization strategies for error-corrected circuits within the SSA-based, multi-dialect compiler framework.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, or a related field with a focus on quantum error correction, compiler development, or quantum computing, plus at least 5 years of industry experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated expertise in quantum error correction theory and implementation (e.g., surface codes, qLDPC codes, fault-tolerant gate constructions, magic state generations).
- Strong experience with compiled languages and their type systems (C++, Julia, Rust, Haskell, OCaml, or similar), with proficiency in SSA-based intermediate representations or compiler infrastructure development.
- Strong track record of technical leadership — mentoring engineers, setting architectural directions, and delivering complex software systems.
- Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including version control, code review, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research publications in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant quantum computation, with contributions to open-source quantum computing projects or equivalent industry software experience in quantum error correction.
- Experience with LLVM, MLIR, symbolic rewrite systems, or similar experience in symbolic computation development.
- Familiarity with neutral-atom quantum computing architectures and their compilation considerations (e.g., atom shuttling, zoned architectures, reconfigurable connectivity).
- Experience with Rust programming language.
- Experience building or contributing to quantum compiler toolchains or QEC simulation frameworks.
- Experience developing error correction-oriented simulation software.
- Familiarity with Python semantics, Python type hints, and CPython internals.
The approximate base salary range for this position is $120.000.00 - $202,000.00.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a multi-level hardware virtual machine that emulates QuEra’s domain-specific language (DSL) for pulse-level programs and its associated compilation stack
