The Technical Consultant (TC) is a key role within our Global Services organization, responsible for delivering high-quality technical solutions to our clients and partners while ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction.  
This role is based in Belgium and works closely with local and international stakeholders. 
Internally, the TC collaborates on solution design to ensure efficiency, adherence to best practices, and the future-proof use of Zeta’s products. 
The TC owns solution delivery end-to-end, including configuration, quality assurance testing, and technical consultation, working closely with clients and partners to ensure successful UAT and project go-live.

You will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an autonomous mindset, while remaining flexible and collaborative in a dynamic, project-based environment.

What You'll Do 

• Understand customer business and technical requirements and deliver comprehensive, scalable solutions 

• Lead or contribute to consultative engagements addressing technical and business challenges related to digital marketing initiatives 

• Participate in design workshops and business requirements definition, through to solution sign-off 

• Provide expert input into solution design, identifying delivery impacts and recommending improvements for scalability and long-term support 

• Act as the product expert, understanding capabilities and limitations, and ensuring solutions follow technical best practices 

• Deliver technical consultation, solution configuration, quality assurance testing, and ongoing client/partner support 

• Configure, build, and set up the Zeta platform 

• Interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and project support 

• Contribute to the creation, management, and presentation of actionable BRDs/SSDs (Blueprints) that align customer business needs with Zeta solutions 

• Work autonomously on smaller or well-defined projects, while collaborating closely with Project Managers, Solution Architects, and other technical experts on larger or more complex engagements 

• Lead internal knowledge-sharing initiatives to support the growth and success of Zeta 

• Identify project risks and issues, proposing alternatives and mitigation strategies 

• Manage multiple concurrent engagements while collaborating with cross-functional team members 

• Deliver new implementations, migrations, and enhancement projects 

• Support Account Executives and Go-To-Market teams by validating solutions and contributing to effort estimations 

• Continuously research emerging technologies, market solutions, and industry trends to stay up to date and bring relevant insights into solution design when needed 

• Be onsite with the client in Brussels up to two days per week to support discovery, delivery, and stakeholder alignment 

• Travel to client or partner sites for onsite discovery and solution presentations as required 

What We’re Looking For 
 

• University degree (Business, Computer Information Systems, or similar degree preferred) or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency 

• 3+ years of experience in a technical role 

• Native French speaker with professional proficiency in English; knowledge of Dutch is a strong plus. 

• Based in Belgium and eligible to work in Belgium. 

• Strong presentation and verbal communication skills with technical, non-technical, end-user, and executive audiences 

• Experience developing SQL using RDBMS platforms such as MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server 

• Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript 

• Familiarity with SOAP and REST APIs, XML/XSL, and integration techniques 

• Ability to collaborate effectively with local and remote teams across multiple time zones 

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, take ownership of technical topics, and adapt quickly to different ways of working depending on project size and complexity 

• Experience in the digital marketing and/or loyalty industries is strongly preferred

The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is NATO’s principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider. It provides, maintains and defends the NATO enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV, and, when required, stand together in the face of attack under Article V.

To provide these critical services, in the modern evolving dynamic environment the NCI Agency needs to build and maintain high performance-engaged workforce. The NCI Agency workforce strategically consists of three major categorise's: NATO International Civilians (NIC)'s, Military (Mil), and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC)'s. The IWCs are a critical part of the overall NCI Agency workforce and make up approximately 15 percent of the total workforce.

1. Database
   
   1. Essential Skills
      1. 5+ years of experience in database administration and patch management, specifically with SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
   2. Responsibilities:
      1. Patching all database servers, including MS SQL Servers, MySQL, and PostgreSQL across all NATO locations.
      2. Ensuring that database patches are tested in a controlled environment before being applied to production systems
      3. Coordinating with application owners to minimize disruption and ensure that database-dependent applications continue to function correctly post-patch.
      4. Performing post-patch validation and monitoring to ensure database integrity and performance.
2. Oracle 
   
   1. Essential Skills
      1. 5+ years of experience with Oracle Database and Oracle WebLogic.
   2. Responsibilities:
      1. Patching all Oracle Database Servers and related Oracle platforms such as Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and other Oracle-specific applications.
      2. Testing and validating Oracle patches in a non-production environment.
      3. Coordinating with relevant teams to ensure seamless deployment with minimal disruption.
      4. Monitoring and validating the performance of Oracle systems post-patch.

   1. Essential Skills
      1. 5+ years of experience in managing and maintaining enterprise-level hardware systems.
   2. Responsibilities:
      1. Patching and upgrading firmware on physical hardware including HPE Rackmount and Blade Servers, Dell Servers, and associated storage systems across various NATO locations.
      2. Ensuring all hardware is compliant with the latest security and operational updates.
      3. Conducting pre-patch validation and post-patch testing to ensure hardware stability.

Role Duties and Responsibilities

As part of a small team of technical experts on the technologies listed above, but with a large amount of autonomous work, your main duties will be to:

• Design, setup and manage a set of sharepoint environments to be tightly integrated with the other technologies already available on the network.
• Ensure the security of the environment meets NATO security requirements, and conforms to the IT Service Manegement rules regulating the network on which the environment operates.
• Leverage the best practices for information management on the technology to ensure User Acceptance.
• Deliver expertise in Identity Management, Access Control and Federation Architectures and how to integrate these in the delivered solution
• Lead or contribute the creation and maintenance of the associated documentation
• Integrate the solution with other solutions like Atlassian JIRA, Confluence and Bitbucket, Splunk and PowerBI.
• Work closely with other team members and users to integrate feedback and constantly improve the quality of the delivered solution.

Deliverables The main deliverables as will be to:

• The provider shall develop and maintain the sharepoint environment and all the related content. The provider is expected to maintain it, make updates following the ITSM processes and continuously integrate user-feedback to increase the user satisfaction. This may include the development of custom-code to fullfill the user requirements.
• The provider shall also maintain the test and validation environment, used to validate changes before they are implemented on production.
• For coordination purposes and due to the access required, the provider of this service shall work onsite, at SHAPE, Mons, Belgium.
• The service provider shall be responsible for complying will all applicable local employment laws, in addition to following all SHAPE & NCIA onboarding procedures. Delivery of the service cannot begin until these requirements are fulfilled.
• The service provider shall not be required to work on NCIA holidays.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong knowledge and experience in designing, installing and managing complex and modern Microsoft Sharepoint environment for at least 500 end-users;
• Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience with web development technologies including ASP.NET, javascript and the use of REST API;
• Strong experience in user-centered development approach and working in an agile project management framework
• Strong experience with Identity and Access Management (IDAM) environment, including Active Directory Federation Service, and other tools like Keycloak.
• Strong team-spirit attitude
• Good Knowledge and experience using Microsoft SCCM / SQL Server / Exchange;
• Experience in developing custom SharePoint solutions using .NET Webforms (custom features, timer jobs, webparts, custom actions);
• Have an in-depth understanding of infrastructure concepts related to Hosting, Networks, IP address Management, firewalls, certificates, Load balancing and Proxy;
• Knowledge and demonstrable experience with scripting languages and integration tools including Powershell, Python and SQL.
• Good understanding of cyber security concepts. Good understanding of network communication protocols.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience developing .NET desktop applications (WPF, MVVM, Windows Background Service, Dependency Injection, Entity Framework 6, Serilog, xUnit, Moq, Azure DevOps);
• Working experience in the cyber security area.
• Past experience working for NATO.
